Whenever I reach out to those who care,

I do so with a desire to help and appease.

As I long to be one who listens and is there,

reception can be cold as a winter’s breeze.

With help, everyone can find their way,

for hope and healing are always there.

We can chase the darkness into the day,

please never give up, and do not despair.

Lonely is the person who is never heard,

even in a crowd feeling isolated and alone.

They long for freedom, to fly like a bird,

by contact you cannot get from a phone.

While those little machines are oh so neat,

face to face is time that just can’t be beat.
