"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

"No, she's. . ." Midoriya felt like he couldn't blink as he stared down at you, completely still in Todoroki's arms. "She's not dead."
"She's dead," Kaminari's voice came out small and strained as he stared at you in utter disbelief.
"No, she's not!"
"Midoriya. I'm not playing that game right now. She's dead."
Unlike Midoriya, Aizawa tried to blink. He blinked over and over again. For some reason, he was still stuck in the same place as before. Still caught in the same loop. Students panicking. People stepping back in shock. Todoroki hunched over your body.
He felt sick. Aizawa felt sick.
Not only was his soulmate gone, but so was his soulmate's niece.
His niece.
Aizawa watched as Todoroki shakily placed his hand on your forehead, gently caressing his thumb across your skin. Aizawa didn't just feel like he failed his soulmate, or you. He felt like he failed Todoroki. The kid just had his soulmate ripped away from him as soon as he finally had her in his grasp.
"Hey," came a voice from behind Aizawa, and some turned to look. There stood Bakugou, staring through the crowd and looking at you in Todoroki's lap. He stumbled over, his pupils constricted as he tripped over his own feet getting to you. "Hey!"
A few flinched at his shout, watching as he fell in front of you and Todoroki. Bakugou thought this was a pretty fucked up joke. He knew you both liked to fuck with each other, but this was messed up. Shoving your shoulder in an attempt to get you up, he shouted again, "Hey! Get up! You're being an idiot!"
It was when you didn't respond that caused him to get a little more annoyed as he aggressively shook your shoulders. "Get up, asshole! You're freaking everyone out!"
Still nothing. You were really committing to the bit. This time Bakugou felt his heart quicken a pace. Now he was really beginning to freak out. Usually when you used to play this kind of joke on him and Midoriya as kids, you knew when to stop because you didn't want to scare them too much. Why weren't you getting up?
"(Y/N), you're scaring me!" Bakugou shook you again, his eyes wide and panicked. Todoroki's grip loosened on you as he continued to stare, not wanting to comprehend what was in front of him. You slid off his lap slowly and onto the ground, which was beginning to shake from the amount of things still crashing on the surface above. The effects of your quirk hadn't stopped. The only way it could be stopped was with you. But you were—
"Hey!" Bakugou's voice cracked, and he felt the sting of tears in his eyes. "I said you're scaring me!"
Uraraka covered her mouth while she tried to contain the noise of her sobs as she and the others looked at the scene.
Kirishima had never ground his teeth harder, barely keeping his own tears at bay as he looked away.
Mina had thrown up. A couple of times now. She was barely holding it together as she kept her distance, not wanting to look at you again.

Iida couldn't fathom any of it. You were just. . . Gone? But you were right in front of him. He couldn't be staring at a deceased (Y/N). No chance. This wasn't you.
Tokoyami had tried so hard to ignore Dark Shadow's cries. But it didn't take him long to feel the unbelievable ache in his heart as he turned away.
Midoriya had fallen to the ground, not too far from Bakugou. He felt like he couldn't breathe. His friend. His childhood friend. This kid he'd known since he learned to read and write. Since he'd discovered he had no quirk. Since he'd been bullied for it, only for you to come and save the day. Since he'd gotten his quirk. But that was it. Because after that, your relationship had dropped off the face of the earth, like it hadn't existed, the both of you being caught up in seperate lives.
He regretted it. He regretted not maintaining that relationship despite having found new friends and his soulmate. He wished he had kept up conversations with you and remained constant with his check-ups. He wished he had inspected further when your parents passed. He wished he'd actually asked you and interrogated more and not believed the first story that came out of your mouth. He wished he wasn't so easily fooled, especially when it came to his own friend's health and well-being. He couldn't make up for any lost time.
Kaminari felt like he'd been kicked in the stomach fifty times as he looked down at you. "No. . ." Shakily crouching down, he held his hands out, sparks exuding from them. Gran Torino was quick to catch on to what the kid had in mind and was quick to pull him away.
Kaminari struggled, most of it being no use. "Let me help her!"
"Kid, you are in no shape to try and zap her alive," Hawks muttered lowly. "You'll burn her to a crisp in seconds."
"I can concentrate the charge I let out! I can—" the last spark that left Kaminari's fingertip was enough to make him short out, and he passed out. He had spent it all fighting the villains, something he clearly hadn't considered. Gran Torino sadly held the boy in his lap as everyone continued to stand there, having no clue what to do.
For once, no one had a plan. They didn't plan for this. What plan would they have? This was it.
Todoroki sniffed, his hair falling across his face as he leaned over, trying to pull you from Bakugou's tight grasp. "Let go."
Bakugou completely ignored him, sobbing as he gripped you tighter. You weren't moving, you weren't breathing. What was he supposed to tell his mother and father? That he failed to protect you? That everything he did to keep you safe was for nothing?
When the ground shook again, some mistook it as being a result of the loud, distressed scream Bakugou let out as he clutched onto you. He was finished when his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he fell over, passed out cold. Present Mic had to remove the desperate arms that were still draped around your own slump body as he picked up the boy, holding him carefully in his arms.
Hawks could only watch as Todoroki sniffed again, using the little strength he had left to drag you into his arms, placing your head in his lap. Hawks hadn't known you for long. Hell, no one there besides Bakugou or Midoriya had known you for long. But it didn't feel that way. Hawks hadn't known he enjoyed your company so much until he forced you and Tokoyami onto the roof of his agency and forced you to make metal wings to fly off the building with, where you had basically told him to get fucked. Two of the coolest students he knew, and one of them was dead in front of him.

A student that was only looking for guidance in a world where it was difficult for her to find any, used horrifically for some sickening ruse to reshape the world; one she couldn't even live to see the result of. A teenage girl who constantly drew bad cards in the cruel game of life. Forced to leave the loving brace of those around her who would do anything in the world for her, just because some asshole wanted to remodel the earth.
Todoroki only felt his tears fall two minutes after they had already begun. The light in his mark was beginning to fade.

". . . Woah, this is pretty wacky. Is this the procrastination place I've heard so much about?" Was for some reason the first words that came out of your mouth as you looked around in the field you found yourself in. "Not gonna lie, was kinda expecting more Monster energy drink cans to be laying about."
Looking around, you noticed the field stretched on for miles in every direction. You couldn't find any landmark of any sort. Before you could shout uselessly at no one, someone said something from behind you: "No Monster drinks here, I'm afraid. I expected the same thing when I got here."
You spun around quickly, having recognised the voice immediately. "Holy shit."
"Oh, yeah man, I missed you too," was your father's sarcastic response, earning a whack from your mother.
"Give her a break—" your mother was interrupted when you crushed both your parents in a hug.
God, did it feel good to be in their arms again. They hadn't changed since you'd last seen them, looking exactly the same. Both of them wearing their usual outfits they would find for themselves and make fun of each other for every morning. Their hair styled with its usual level of care. Their eyes hadn't changed either, holding their usual glow and goofiness. Just looking at them brought instant tears to your own. "I missed you guys."
"We missed you too, honey," was your mother's reply as they both hugged you just as tightly. "But you can't stay here long."
"Exsqueeze me?" You replied as you pulled away, looking up at her. It didn't take you long, though. "I'm dead?"
"Yes indeedy," your father responded, "so we have to be quick. Your link to Todoroki is dying."
"What?" You frowned, glancing at your arm. You felt your heart snap a little as you watched the words on your arm slowly fade away. The sparkling gold was floating off your skin and disappearing into thin air. It was already halfway through.
You looked back at your parents, who were smiling sweetly at you. Your mother sensed you wanted to ask so many things, and she said, "Ask away, sweetheart. Prioritise your questions though."
You felt the familiar lump rise in your throat as you struggled to get the words out. You weren't sure you wanted to know. But you needed to. You knew it wouldn't make you feel better knowing, but it would bring you closure. "How did you die?"
"Oh, (Y/N)," your father said, placing a gentle hand on your cheek as he smiled sadly down at you. "I'm so sorry."
You nodded your head, trying to swallow the lump that was still in your throat. "It's okay. Don't apologise."
Your parents looked at each other before your mother said, "There was a bomb threat in an underground parking lot. At least, that's what we were told. It was an ambush."
You felt your heart squeeze.
"We still don't know who did it. And to be fair, we don't care." Your father said. "We don't remember much. All we know is that we were somehow knocked out, and when we woke up, we were tied to a bomb."
"Your father tried to use his quirk to get out of whatever had bound us to the thing, but whatever they did to us prevented us from using our quirks. We were stuck there."
"Being a hostage attached to a bomb is definitely as scary as it sounds. We were just stuck there." Your father chimed in.
"Then your father's best friend came bursting through the door." Your mother smiled sadly, and you could see the tears in her eyes. "He tried so hard, but he couldn't get us out."
You hadn't met your dad's best friend. Although he would talk about him all the time, it had all been at the workplace. Obviously you'd never joined your parents on a mission, so how were you supposed to know who this person was?
"He tried so desperately to get us out. To the point where he was just desperately tugging on shit in hopes it would set us loose." Your dad crouched down in front of you, placing a gentle hand on your cheek. "Which is why when he says he tried to get us out as much as he could, you believe him."
You frowned. "I don't know who your best friend is. I've only heard about him."
Your father frowned in confusion as he looked up at your mother. Looking back at you, he said, "Yes, you do. He's taught you."
You gave him a deadpanned look. "Way to narrow it down, Dad."
"Shouta Aizawa."
You felt yourself stumble back in shock.
Although it came as a surprise, it was all beginning to make sense. Aizawa always played such a big role in your life since you started school, a bigger role than what would be necessary for a normal student.
He owed it to your parents.
You heard footsteps, and you turned to see your aunt stopping next to your parents. She smiled, and you felt the same tears start over again as you lunged yourself at her, embracing her in a tight hug. "Oh my god," you sobbed.
"Holy carp," your aunt breathed out, hugging you with the same amount of strength. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart."
You shook your head vigorously as you sniffed, looking up at her, "Don't apologise for something that was nowhere near your fault. None of you could help what happened to you."
Your aunt smiled. "Well, I'm at least glad my soulmate has been trying to look after you."
You chuckled. "I accidentally called him Uncle Aizawa at some point. Don't know how he felt about that."
"Well," your father said, "I did say when your mother got pregnant with you that he would have to be an uncle. He didn't seem upset over the idea. I'm glad he's stepping up though."
"Speaking of stepping up," you said. "Mitsuki really misses you guys."
Your aunt sighs, her shoulders slumping. "I didn't even get to tell her how much I loved her. God, she was the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for."
"I knew I could trust her," your mother said. "Her and her husband. Those two know how to raise a kid. Even if that kid has a few anger issues here and there."
"Tell the Bakugou's we said 'thank you'. We've been watching how each and every one of them have been looking after you since we had to go," your father said.
"Oh dear," your mother said, gently grabbing ahold of your arm. "Your mark is fading. (Y/N), honey, you need to go."
You felt a lump rise in your throat at the idea. You didn't want to. But there was something else you also didn't want to do: Leave everyone who'd made an effort to look after you.
The Bakugou's. Katsuki Bakugou, especially. He didn't hesitate to make sure you were safe and okay. You didn't want to leave him like this and make him think it was all for nothing.
Kaminari. God, Kaminari. You couldn't leave one of the friends you needed the most. He'd already gone through enough, you weren't going to die on him, as well.
Midoriya. Even though you two grew apart, he was an incredibly good friend. He was there when Bakugou wasn't. You weren't planning on missing out on his rise as All Might's successor.
Hawks. Boy, oh, boy. He was the best mix of teacher and friend you could ever ask for. Even though you were only his intern for a few days, you, him, Tokoyami and Dark Shadow all had a massive bond. You weren't going to break it anytime soon.
Aizawa. Aizawa-sensei, Uncle Aizawa, whatever you wanted to call him. He didn't have to step up, but he did. He didn't have to look out for his best friend's kid, but he did. He didn't have to care as much as he did.
But he did. And you would be damned if you left without thanking him.
Shouto Todoroki. Your soulmate. If someone told you before entering UA that not only would your soulmate not appall the sight of you, but you two would also be a prophesied pair meant to save the world from a massive threat (which ended up being you), you would laugh and tell them to get the fuck out of your house.
Whoever said that everyone has an instant connection to their soulmate was wrong. You and Todoroki didn't have an instant connection. You two didn't even know each other, of course you didn't get along immediately. Hell, you weren't telling each other anything and you were arguing over the silliest things. But you got through it.
Yes, once you get back, you will still have things to work through. Hell, it's not like you're never going to have another argument again. But it was all worth it. Why?
Because at the end of the day, you would do anything for each other. As the past couple of months had shown.
You turned to your parents and your aunt, smiling at them. "I guess I gotta go. Got anything you want me to tell anyone?"
"Tell the Bakugou's that we said thank you," your mother said.
"Tell Aizawa I said I miss him and thank you for looking out for my kid," your father said, and you smiled.
"Yeah, speaking of Aizawa," your aunt said, and you chuckled. "Tell him that I'm sorry I left so soon. Tell him that I would've loved to get to know him. Tell him that he's quite handsome, as well."
You playfully rolled your eyes at her.
"And tell him I'm glad he treats my niece the same as if she were his own."
You smiled before nodding your head and stepping back. You didn't know how you were supposed to get out, but you felt stepping back was the way to go. "I love you guys."
"We love you too," your father said. "Do me a favour. When you get the chance to, give Jasper a good hit across the face, will you?"
You winked, "I've already planned it out, don't worry."
The last sight of your family was them laughing.
