"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

I did create something in this chapter. It will be some sort of phenomenon, and I will not name it here for the sake of spoilers. If this has any link to any real life events or people, it is merely a coincidence. I did search up what I named the phenomenon in Google, and nothing seemed to come up. So as far as I'm concerned, this is merely some dumb thing I created for the sake of the storyline, and I haven't seen anyone else create something with the same name in which I have for this fake phenomenon.
PLEASE ENJOY.

Todoroki's thoughts were swimming around his mind at a constant high-alert.
Everyone had gotten off the bus a couple of minutes beforehand, and they were now walking toward the archive facility. Because it was in such a secluded suburb, the bus didn't stop close to the actual building, despite Aizawa's instructions. Which did lead into a small argument with the driver and the homeroom teacher.
They had been forced to get off. Turned out the driver wanted to finish his shift and get home right away due to the recent worldwide warning to find a secure place to shelter in. Aizawa understood then, and apologised. The driver went home, and the class was now forced to walk twenty minutes to the facility.
Todoroki was hyperaware of his red-flashing mark, it flashing so bright that he could see the red tinge on Iida walking next to him. His head had been aching ever since you disappeared, and taking paracetamol hadn't helped. Whenever the headache stopped, it would only stop for a few hours before it came back worse, lasting for almost the entire day. He didn't like the idea that you were feeling much worse. His headache was currently sitting on the brink of a goddamn migraine.
"Haha, it's the funny number!" Kaminari smiled, pointing at a sign containing the price of 169 at the fuel station they walked past.
"Kaminari, please," Iida said, trying to ignore the giggles from both Mina and Hawks.
"I didn't think you'd know what I was talking about Iida," Kaminari said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Well I do," Iida replied, causing Mina to let out a small 'oop', "and now's not the time to be messing around."
"So are you saying you would find it funny if I didn't make the joke in this current situation—"
"Could you take this seriously?! (L/N) is being held hostage and is using her quirk to destroy the world, and you're strolling around making jokes!"
"She would be making the same jokes right now," Kaminari replied.
"No, she wouldn't," was Iida's response, causing Kaminari to stop in his tracks. Everyone eventually stopped, looking back at him, Todoroki having to refrain from audibly groaning in frustration at the delay. Iida (who was leading the pack) was the last to stop, narrowing his eyes at Kaminari. He had to try and ignore the dark tinge in the blond's eyes.
Kaminari's voice was low and the tone itself basically acted as a warning, "You think you know her so well, don't you?"
"Of course I do," Iida responded. "She was one of my first friends here."

"For two weeks," Kaminari threw in quickly. "For two weeks she was your friend."
". . . That doesn't mean I don't know her," Iida glared.
"Oh, right, because she's gonna tell you every single thing about her within two weeks," Kaminari chuckled humourlessly, throwing his hands up and gesturing to Todoroki. "She hasn't even told her own soulmate, for crying out loud! What makes you think you know her?"
"What, you think that your little crush on her automatically means you know her too?"
The deadly look in Kaminari's eyes was seen clear as day before he quickly punched Iida across the face. This caught Iida off guard as he stumbled to the ground, and shouts of surprise were let out from everyone at the violent action, an exasperated 'Jesus Christ' let out by Aizawa.
Kirishima, Mina and Tokoyami rushed to hold back Kaminari, but they didn't need to. He was already stepping back, shaking out his fist as he stared down at Iida with remorseless eyes. His voice came out low and dangerous as he asked, "Who told you that, huh?"
"Guys, we don't have time for this," Mina said, her arm held out in front of Kaminari.
"Kaminari, words cannot describe how obvious you are when you're around her," Iida exclaimed, standing back up. "She's got a soulmate already! Seriously, get a grip."
This time when Kaminari went to lunge at Iida, he was immediately pulled back by Kirishima. "Okay! Let's calm down, yeah? We don't wanna do anything we might regret."
Kaminari's voice was rasped with anger as he struggled against Kirishima, "Oh, I'm not gonna regret this—"
"ENOUGH!" Todoroki's shout boomed down the street, causing everyone to stop what they were doing and look at him. His hair was ruffled from the countless times he had gripped it in frustration, and the messy strands fell into his dark eyes as he glared at his two arguing friends. "I cannot believe this shit. Neither one of you give a damn about her if you're too busy arguing on who knows her best."
Kaminari and Iida looked down in shame, and everyone else remained silent.
"Iida, Kaminari's right, you don't know (Y/N) as much as you claim to. Kaminari, having a crush on her doesn't automatically mean you know everything. Yes, you probably know a hell of a lot more than me. She's comfortable to make jokes around you. But I haven't been working my ass off to ensure her safety and make sure she trusts me, just for you to claim to have the better hand in all this. She's my soulmate, she's my responsibility, just as much as I am hers! So for the love of god, let's get moving! She is on the verge of death! Get yourselves together!"
Without another word, he spun around and marched forward, leaving everyone absolutely shocked. After making sure Iida was okay, Midoriya and Uraraka scrambled after, speeding up their paces. With one last glance at Kaminari, Tokoyami walked ahead, Bakugou following soon after, but still remaining just in front of the lighting-powered boy.
Kaminari had to refrain from letting out his distressed sigh before walking ahead, also picking up his pace. Todoroki was right. And God knows he had to get over this crush on you. It was causing him more pain and suffering than it was worth. It absolutely killed him to see you staring at Todoroki the way that you do, with Todoroki being able to stare at you the same way back.
He wanted to keep you safe. He wanted to help you through your issues and dilemmas. He thought he had gotten over it after confessing to you at the Sports Festival. And even though you guys had returned to your usual banter, he knew you weren't feeling the same pain he was. Not the pain of an out-of-control quirk, or extreme pains to the head that could cause the end of the world (although that was definitely way more important than what he was going through); but the pain of knowing that he couldn't be Todoroki.

Kaminari was so willing to be there to protect you and love you unconditionally. He was so willing to do all of it. . . And for what? He couldn't love you. He couldn't have you return that love. What's the point of doing any of this when you were going to run straight to Todoroki anyway?
He stopped in his tracks, shutting his eyes as he breathed in deeply. No, that's not true.
You did love him. He knew you loved him.
Just not in the way he wanted you to.
It was up to him to get over things. Up to him to get over you.
If he was going to live out his life with you around, he needed to work through these feelings for you. He was only causing himself more pain. He had no choice.
"It's tough, kid," said a voice from next to him, and he blinked open his eyes, looking beside him. Hawks kept his pace next to him as he looked ahead, hands in his pockets. "Loving someone you know you can't."
Kaminari's voice came out quiet as he asked the question, "Did you go through the same thing?"
"Kind of," was Hawks' reply, and though hesitant, Kaminari was surprised he got an answer at all. "Got paired up with someone who was quite. . . Dangerous, I guess, for my soulmate. I didn't have a choice in the matter. But then again, who does? It's love, it's not like you pick and choose how you please."
"Do you mind me asking who they are?" Kaminari asked softly. He had a feeling on what Hawks might have been implying. A villain, possibly.
"Sorry, kid," Hawks chuckled, ruffling the boy's hair, "Maybe after we save Little Miss Metalbender."
Kaminari let out a small huff through his nose as the corner of his lips turned upward. He was right. He needed to focus on getting you safe. That's why they were all there.
"Say, kid," Hawks spoke up, catching Kaminari's attention. "Since we're on the topic of my soulmate. . . What about yours? What's your soulmate classification?"
Kaminari shut his eyes tight, not wanting to think about it. He tried to force the lump in his throat down, but it just wasn't working.
When Kaminari mumbled something, Hawks was unable to hear him. "What was that, kid?"
"Have you heard of the Triple-Zero-One phenomenon?"
Hawks felt his heart sink as he looked at the boy's broken eyes. Kaminari didn't look at him, just kept his gaze ahead the entire time. Hawks had to clear his throat to prevent his voice from cracking. "I-I think I have."
"Well to refresh your memory," Kaminari sarcastically smiled, and Hawks had to try and ignore the tears he could see welling up in the student's eyes, "the Triple-Zero-One phenomenon is linked to soulmates."
Hawks had to refrain from letting out a saddened sigh. He knew what was coming next.
"Everyone has a soulmate. Which is a fat lie. For some unknown reason, 0.0001 percent of people in the world do not get a soulmate. Of course no one likes to talk about it. Why should it become their problem if they have their own soulmate? 'The people without a soulmate must be bad people, right? That's why they don't have a soulmate.' Imagine that. Being apart of that 0.0001 percent of people. Having that much bad luck."
"Kid, I. . ." Hawks didn't know what to say.
"I'm apart of that 0.0001 percent. The Triple-Zero-One. Just my luck."
"We're here!" Aizawa called out from the front of the group.
Kaminari inhaled deeply, trying to regain his composure. He saw Hawks was about to say something, but he cut him off, "I don't want to focus on that right now. It's now time to help (Y/N). Like you said, maybe after we save Little Miss Metalbender."
Hawks nodded, putting on a playful smirk. "I'll hold you to that, kid."
"Yeah, you too."

"Okay," Aizawa sighed as they stepped into the elevator. Thank goodness it was rather large, otherwise they would have been all squished-in together. "You ready?"
Everyone remained silent as they awaited Todoroki's response.
Todoroki pressed the scratched button underneath the emergency button without a second thought. Just as they thought nothing would happen, the light flickered on, indicating the floor had been selected, and the doors to the elevator closed them in. "More than ready."
The elevator jostled a little bit, and then they were slowly descending. It remained silent, the box filled with everyone's tension as they descended.
"So what do we do when we get down there?" Mina asked, and everyone froze, no longer fidgeting in restlessness. "We don't even know what the situation is down there. Is it just the Jasper guy or are there others with him?"
"I'm assuming he's grabbed at least Dabi," Aizawa said. "He knows that (Y/N) freaks out whenever she sees him, so he would definitely use to that to his advantage. He could potentially have the entire League there as well, just as backup."
"Is he expecting us?" Kirishima asked, forcing himself to swallow the lump in his throat.
"I'm not certain. But there is a chance. Just be ready for anything. You guys defeated the League once, you can do it again—"
"AH, FUCK!" Todoroki's loud shout caused his throat to crack as he clutched his head, hunching over, and everyone immediately sprung into action, some not even understanding what was going on yet.
On Todoroki's end, it felt like his head had been struck by a hammer, except the pain wasn't stopping or decreasing in any way. It was on a constant loop.
"What the hell is happening?!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"It's (Y/N)," Todoroki groaned out, trying to stand up straight as the pain continued. "Her head."
"He's feeling her pain," Hawks muttered.
"Yeah, not to be rude, but we're way fucking past that now," Bakugou growled out.
"What the hell is he doing to her?" Aizawa mumbled, glaring through the elevator doors like he could see Jasper already.
Then the elevator stopped moving.
Todoroki stumbled to keep himself upright as one hand clutched his head, his eyes wincing as he tried to fight through the pain.
Everyone prepared, getting into their stances.
Then the doors slid open.
"Well well well, look what the cat dragged in," Jasper's sly voice was only just heard over the screams of (Y/N) behind him, and Bakugou was immediately in attack-dog mode, trying to lunge at the man. He was only just held back by Aizawa and Hawks.
"Jasper, why are you doing this—"
"Save the cliché hero speech," Jasper waved a lazy hand. "I'm doing this because I can. Because I'm merely bored. Because this world is getting boring and all these buildings are beginning to pile up. Mainly the buildings, I want them knocked down. I need my space. I'm the only one that's going to remain here, and I'm sick of them piling shit onto my land. So I'm knocking it all down. If people get hurt in the process, then oh well."
They all remained silent, and Jasper could probably see the pure rage radiating off of them.
"So what you're telling me," Todoroki's rough voice croaked out, "is that you're using her. . . Just as a reset button because you find the world to be too clunked-up?"
Jasper tilted his head to this side, an exaggerated look of thought running across his face as he hummed. "Yeah, that's a better way of putting it—"
Todoroki wasted no time in attempting to impale the guy with his a giant ice spike, springing everyone else into action.
Sooner than they would've expected, the League of Villains sprung out from the darkness, and Midoriya and Uraraka had to refrain their groans of annoyance as they saw Toga bounding towards them with hungry eyes.
Before Todoroki could continue attacking Jasper, Dabi stood in front of him. "Oh, hello. Nice to meet you, Shouto Todoroki."
Before Todoroki had time to think, an explosion of blue flame flew toward him, and he was immediately tackled to the ground by Kaminari, the flame just barely singeing the white strands of Todoroki's hair.
"Todoroki, go!" Kaminari said, and the shout had caused the pain in Todoroki's head to increase just the little bit more. "Go to (Y/N) and figure out how to snap her out of. . . Whatever the fuck is happening to her. We've got this. You're the only one that can help her."
Todoroki was blinking hardcore, trying to get rid of the smoke in his eyes, and even that action was beginning to hurt his head. He was struggling to concentrate. But he knew that he had to get to you as soon as possible. He knew you were going through so much worse. He wasn't going to come all this way just to fuck it all up.
"Todoroki!" Kaminari shouted once again, grabbing the boy's attention. "Go!"
Todoroki grunted as he stumbled to his feet again, turning around to look behind him to quickly make sure Kaminari was handling himself okay. He had fallen back with Mina and Tokoyami, all three of them defending each other against Dabi.
Todoroki groaned as he struggled his way over to you, but just as he was about to get to you, he felt his stomach get kicked in. He found himself being thrown across the concrete, and he had to lay there and tell himself to breathe for a moment, his abdomen aching.
"Ah, little Todoroki," the familiar scratchy voice was something Todoroki had heard not even a moment ago, and he frowned, the action alone causing the pain in his head to increase. Looking up, he noticed the familiar spiky black hair and trench coat. Wasn't he just where Todoroki was a second ago?
Todoroki looked back to where he came from, and was even more confused when he saw the guy that was standing before him was also over by the others. "What. . ."
"Just a little magic trick you don't need to worry about," Dabi smiled sadistically as he slowly approached Todoroki. "My, how much you've changed over the years, huh?"
Before Todoroki had time to catch his bearings, a harsh kick to his shoulder was made, and he gritted his teeth as he tried to ignore the sharp ache.
"You've grown a whole bunch," cue another shove to the abdomen by Dabi's loving foot. "Nasty scar. Early birthday present from Dad?"
'Dad?'
Boy, was Todoroki confused out of his mind. He debated whether or not he was tripping or if this was actually happening.
He struggled to stand up, feeling himself curl in as he felt the ache in his abdomen.
'If I still have to study after all this, I'm gonna be mad.'
Dabi crouched down to Todoroki's level on the ground. He remained silent for a moment, before he huffed out a small bout of laughter and said, "God, you really look like our mother."
Todoroki's eyes widened as his mind ran through all of the times you would talk about Dabi, all the times you would express how you thought he might be. . .
"Todoroki!" Shouted Aizawa, and Dabi 2.0 was instantly kicked in the side by the teacher and sent flying, snapping Todoroki out of his state of thought. Ignoring the pain, he stumbled to his feet and sprinted over to you. He almost fell over from the inertia of his own speed as he abruptly stopped in front of you, and he felt the air leave his lungs as he looked at you.
