"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

"(Y/N)!" Todoroki called out to you as you abruptly left the building. You didn't stop moving, walking as fast as possible down the sidewalk.
You couldn't believe for a second that you would have to save the world from yourself. You were supposed to protect it from falling, not be the cause of it. How were you supposed to stop your own quirk from destroying the world? Were you not fated to stop the world from ending?
You felt Todoroki's hand grip your wrist as you pulled you back, turning you around to face him. "Slow down."
"I'd ask my quirk the same thing."
"(Y/N)–"
"Shouto, even if you have to admit this is a little bit ridiculous!"
He frowned, looking off to the side.
You let a small, defeated noise leave your throat as you ran a frustrated hand across your face. "What. . . What do I even do?"
Todoroki ran his own hand through his hair, the red strands tangling with the white ones. No response.
"I'll tell you what we do," said your teacher from behind you. You turned around with what little energy you had left and stared at him.
"Please tell me it involves cocaine."
Aizawa's dead look at you told you it wasn't. "What I was going to say," he said, "was that this has surely happened before. You can't be the only one to have these kind of events."
"Sir," you said, "as good as your idea is, I haven't seen anyone else have a quirk so uncontrollable that it determines the safety of the world."
"Let me finish." He moved to stand in front of you. "When quirks were first developed, it wasn't normal. People obviously didn't have a quirk of any sort, so suddenly seeing these beings was mind-boggling to them. They weren't widely accepted, to say the least. Many of their parents did freak out, but some were still willing to protect and help their child."
"But because they didn't know what it was," Todoroki chimed in, "they didn't know what to do with it."
"Exactly. It took a lot for the parents to help their children with their quirks. And sometimes it didn't go well. A few families broke apart due to the parents not accepting their child, a few parents died. A couple of parents took the chance to experiment on their own kids to get to the bottom of it. It was. . . Messy."
You frowned. "Jesus. . ."
"Yeah," Aizawa said. "What I'm trying to tell you is that there would be records over the years of people developing new quirks and not knowing how to control it. They would've written down how they learnt to handle it."
He sighed and leaned toward you.
"Because trust me, kid, they didn't have anyone else to help them. It was the most extreme game of trial and error. The world has been in peril several times before, but look at us now. We're all still standing here. We're gonna get through this, you two, so stop freaking yourselves out and let's get going."

When he walked off, Todoroki trailing behind him, you didn't move. All you could do was try to hold your tears back as you thought back to your aunt.
He would've been fucking perfect for her.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
You had only really been paying attention once Aizawa and some random guy stopped in some underground bunker with white walls.
Now because you didn't want to look like a fool, you didn't ask who the dude was. He had a set of dark curls, not necessarily unkept but a sexy messy. His amber eyes seemed to stare deep into your soul, which you didn't know if you liked or not. He was giving off strong giant energy as well, probably reaching around six-foot-three or six-foot-four.
You assumed he was some ancient immortal bookkeeper or something. Despite looking like a fresh twenty-year-old. He wasn't wearing what you would guess an ancient bookkeeper would wear. He had on loose white button-up shirt, the long sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He wore black skinny jeans along with a pair of combat boots.
Why did this ancient bookkeeper look like a Greek god?
Before you had a chance to stop yourself:
"You look like a freak in and out of the sheets."
Everyone stopped to look at you, frowns etching into their features as they stared at your blank look, Aizawa being the first to speak, "What?"
You felt your cheeks heat up immediately, not realising you had said it out loud. "Nothing. Please continue, uh. . ." You gestured to the guy. "Sir."
The guy chuckled. "My name is Jasper, Miss (L/N)."
You bowed at a perfect forty-five-degree angle, apologising profusely. He chuckled, waving his hands around and dismissing you. "No, please, don't apologise. It's understandable that you're distracted. I know for a fact that you have a lot on your mind. I am here to help, just like everyone else."
You nodded, smiling awkwardly. "So where are we?"
"You know those records I was telling you about earlier?" Aizawa asked you, and you confirmed with a small 'yeah'. "We just entered where they're stored."
You felt like an idiot. Here you were thinking about how good Todoroki looked YET AGAIN, and meanwhile you had entered a room full of historical records without even realising it.
Your eyes widened as you finally took everything in. You were surrounded by fifteen-foot walls, all of them a pearly white. Each wall had rows of marble file cabinets imbedded into it, and a ladder connecting from the floor to the ceiling sat in the corner, ready to be used. Your eyes squinted as you tried to look toward the top, but the bright lights prevented you from doing so.
Your eyes followed Jasper as he reached the left wall, going to the third column and the fourth row. He pulled the drawer open, peering inside and flicking through the files. You waited for a moment until he pulled out what he needed, closing the drawer with no more than a quiet click. Leaning against the wall, he opened the folder, flicking through the pages.
"Which one are you looking at?" Aizawa asked.
"Maria Layne. Her quirk was the ability to control and grow minerals, crystals, etcetera. I thought it would be a good one to use."
"Metals grow in minerals in rocks. So she was able to extract the metal from the minerals as well?" You asked dumbly as you stared at him in awe.

Without moving his head, he looked up from the file, his eyes peering at you through his curls. "Exactly."
Dear lord, you were going to hell if you were gonna continue thirsting after this man.
You looked at your soulmate next to you (yeah, remember him?), realising he would've noticed by now.
No, never mind, he was also staring at Jasper. As a matter of fact, you could see his cheeks begin to redden.
"She had a similar experience. She would accidentally pull rocks out from underneath the ground as she just tried to pull out crystals and minerals. Her quirk got stronger and stronger, and soon she was pulling out chunks the size of boulders, and soon enough, craters."
"How did she wind up controlling it?" You asked.
Jasper made his way over to you, and you felt yourself tense. You quickly glanced at Todoroki, who was also freezing up and blushing. Jasper stopped next to you, holding the folder between you two as he explained.
Dear lord, did he smell great.
"Whenever her quirk would act up, she would try to control one of the rocks that were being pulled out of the ground. Then two. Then three. She developed her ability to be able to control her own quirk every time it decided to act out. It did take a while, but whenever her quirk would act silly, she would be able to control it and it wouldn't cause. . . You know. Mass destruction."
You frowned, nodding your head. "Okay. That could work. I do have a question, though."
"What is it?"
"Did she have a soulmate at all?"
Jasper frowned. "She didn't. Her soulmate died in an accident before she had the chance to meet him."
It was weird. Because right after Jasper had mentioned that, and right after you thought about your aunt, that strum of pain hit your head like a hammer. You gritted your teeth, stumbling a little bit. Todoroki snapped out of his Jasper-gaze and immediately gripped onto your arm, his other hand around your waist just in case you completely collapsed.
Once it was done, you blinked away the dots, standing back up properly. Frowning, Jasper walked over to the file cabinets. Although they looked fine on the inside, he went to pull out a drawer. It didn't budge. He hummed. "The rails of the drawer are stuck."
"I'm sorry," you said, rubbing your head.
"No no no, please," Jasper said. "Don't apologise. Just come here for a moment."
Oh god, he was gonna kill you.
You hesitantly stepped where he was, and he led you to the centre of the room. "Now, if I showed you a picture of what the rails looked like, do you think you'll be able to put them back to how they were?"
You nodded. "Probably."
He hummed in a low tone, pulling out his phone and showing you. Once seeing it, you nodded. You tried thinking back to when you first controlled other pieces of metal. That time with All Might seemed to really work.
Breathing in, you focused on one drawer, trying to place the image you just saw onto it. You heard creaking from inside, and once it stopped, you walked over to it. You went to open it, and it slid out just fine, quietly and smoothly. Looking over toward the other three, you raised an eyebrow. "It worked."
"That took an awful long time to do for someone your age," Jasper said. "Did you have any trouble developing your quirk at any point?"
You shrugged your shoulders. "I guess I didn't practice as much as other kids. I didn't know how to do much and I wasn't really focused on developing it. It was only when I was going for UA did I start practicing, and I had only just passed the physical examination anyway."
Jasper let out a small 'hmm', mumbling out, "Maybe that's why then."
You frowned. "What?"
"Your quirk should have been properly developed by now. It needed to keep up with the growth of your body. For some reason, due to you not having practiced much with it, it's acting out and suddenly doing things on its own, almost like it was a big ball of energy just growing and growing. Something's happened and now that big ball of energy is reaching its breaking point. About to explode."
You felt your heart race, and you tried to breathe normally. "Lovely."
"Did anything big happen?" Jasper asked you. "Anything that might have required you to use your quirk more than what you're used to?"
Oh, yeah. The Dabi incident—
Pain seared your brain, and you let out a shout, collapsing to your knees right away. It was only when you felt a hand on your shoulder did it begin to slow down, and you looked up.
Dabi.
You acted fast. Faster than you ever had before. Without even thinking about it, a blade protruded from your hand. No handle. Just a blade coming from your flesh. You held it against his neck. His smirk grew as those blue eyes glared into yours.
"Jesus Christ, (Y/N), calm down!"
Aizawa's shout snapped you out of whatever trance you had been in. You looked at him, your breathing uneven and your eyes wide. Frowning, you spun your head back at your target.
That wasn't Dabi.
Todoroki stared at you with wide eyes, his own breathing rapid as he remained still, looking at you in shock. Your blade was still against his neck. You watched his brown and. . .
Blue eyes.
Dropping your hand, you allowed the blade to snap off as you gasped. Shakily holding his face, you whimpered out, "Shouto, I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry."
He swallowed a few times, trying to get his bearings. "What-What was that?"
"Right. . ." Jasper mumbled, also calming down. "I think I know what might be happening."
"What is it?" You croaked out, leaning back away from Todoroki.
"Something traumatic has happened to you. So much so, that it's effected your own view of your soulmate. You're either afraid of him, or you're afraid of someone, or something, like him."
Your eyes fluttered as they tried to blink, your shaky gaze set on Todoroki. He looked back at you, a mix of emotions clear on his face.
"Someone needs to go to therapy," Jasper said, turning to open the one working file drawer.
