"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

"(Y/N)," Todoroki gently waved a hand in front of your face, and you blinked out of your trance, finding yourself back at the park.

"Sorry," you mumbled, shifting in your seat at the table you were both seated at. "What did you say?"

"I asked if you were alright," he said. He was sat across from you, never removing his eyes from your face. "You've been spacing out for a little bit. What's on your mind?"

Looking back at him, you debated whether or not you should say it. Shaking your head, you looked back down at your study notes, "It's going to sound ridiculous."

"I don't think anything can sound ridiculous at this point," he replied, placing his pen down and folding his arms on top of the table. "What is it?"

Searching his eyes, you tried to find anything that would give you any reason NOT to tell him. Nothing. He was there and ready to listen. Sighing, you sat up in your seat.

"I think Aizawa-sensei was supposed to be my uncle."

Based on the look Todoroki gave you, you knew you should've phrased that better.

"I-I mean. . ." You groaned, getting frustrated. You didn't even know for sure, and you didn't want to make your teacher uncomfortable by asking him. Seeing you in this state, Todoroki's what-the-fuck look disappeared and was replaced with one of solicitude.

"What's making you think this way?"

"We were on the topic of my aunt," you said, swallowing the lump in your throat, "and, uh. . . Suddenly I was talking about how her soulmate must feel. Now that she's go-gone, they would feel horrible. You know how people who have lost their soulmates just feel that lifeless feeling."

Todoroki nodded along with what you were saying, displaying that he understood.

"When I was talking about her soulmate, he seemed really tense. Like, incredibly so. The more I think about it, the more dots I connect."

Todoroki hummed in agreement, still keeping his gaze on you steadily. "Had he ever met her? Did she ever get the time to come to any events or parent-teacher interviews?"

You shook your head, "Bakugou's mother would have to come in for me and fill in for my aunt. She rarely had any days off. The days she did would be spent with me, and it was always with the Bakugous."

Todoroki nodded, having his own realisation. You and Bakugou were close, that much had been clear for a while. But Todoroki was now realising how important it was for you to remain close to him and his family. Your aunt and Bakugou's mum had been really close.

"I think. . ." You trailed off, trying to decide what to do. "I think I'm right about this."

Todoroki nodded, "I think you are too."

Smiling thankfully, you said, "Thank you, Shouto. Truly. At the start of this year, I didn't think I could be cared for so much by someone who has only known me for a few months. You've been here for everything that's happened this year. I know I haven't been doing much to do the same, but I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for that."

Todoroki smiled at you, a sparkle in his eye that only you could notice. "(Y/N), you've done plenty already. And although some of it is was a bit questionable, your intentions were good. You stood up to my father and even lectured him. No one could ever do that. In order to ease my worries about you being taken again, you stayed by my side. The entire time. You've even had to reject someone and didn't tell me because you knew how much it would upset me."

You froze at the last one, eyes wide in panic, "Eh?"

He chuckled a little, taking your hand in both of his. "Yeah. I know about Kaminari. His feelings for you. How you almost had to sacrifice your friendship with him to remain with me."

Shaking your head, you mumbled, "How can you say I've done things for you when you've put in so much more effort? Shouto, while I was determined to stay with the League of Villains, when I never planned to go back, you were struggling back at home."

His eyes widened at you, and you chuckled, throwing his words back at him, "Yeah, I know about that."

Sighing, he stood up from his seat, moving to the other side of the table so he was next to you. Taking your hand, he intertwined his fingers with yours. "(Y/N), you're saying that like you haven't worried about me. Remember your internship?"

Nodding your head, confirming you did, in fact, remember standing on the roof of Hawks' agency building.

"Remember when you knew I was in danger, and Hawks wouldn't let you go and look for me, and so you argued with him and almost jeopardised your entire internship?"

You winced at the memory, remembering all the insults you threw. "Yeah."

"That was also the first time you called me 'Shouto'."

He smiled at the blush that rose to your face, and he adjusted himself so he was facing you. "(Y/N), you haven't been stressing over me as much as I have been over you because you haven't gotten many opportunities to."

He had a point. But as you sat there, looking into his eyes, you found yourself focusing on his blue one. You knew this wasn't the best way for him to tell you about his family and past, but then again, when was there a good time? "Shouto, I have a question. It's. . . Very important. I just want you to know that you do not have to answer me whatsoever."

Noting your seriousness, he leaned forward and said gently, "What is it?"

You took in a deep breath before saying, "Uhm. . . Uh, did something major happen to your family at any point?"

You could tell he was very hesitant on telling you. His eyes searched yours. He was doing the exact same thing you had done before you decided to tell him about Aizawa. He was searching for any reason for him to not tell you. But you weren't asking to judge, or to stick your nose in his business. You were asking out of genuine concern, and genuine interest in his past.

And he saw that. "Yeah. My father."

He proceeded to tell you what his father had done to his family. How he'd abuse Todoroki's mother, deemed his older siblings as useless, abused him in order to fulfil his own standards of his son. Stuff you remember him telling you about a couple of months ago, but this time in greater detail.

"Shouto," you said as dread filled your entire being. "Honey, I'm so sorry."

He shook his head. "Don't be. Seriously. I'm much better now. Yeah, sometimes I think about the past and get upset, but none of that stuff is really happening anymore. I've finally stood up to my father, and so have you, which has helped immensely. Trust me, he's not doing anything for a long time."

"I'm proud of you," you said, placing a gentle hand on his cheek. "Really. Jesus, I can't imagine what it must have been like living like that."

Todoroki didn't say anything, just stared at you. Like he was thinking about something. Before you could ask, he said, "There's something else, as well."

You frowned. More? "What is it?"

"I had a brother." You noticed the 'had', and your gaze softened further. He continued, "I was very young, so I don't remember anything. But Fuyumi was able to tell me some stuff."

When he told you what his older sister told you, you felt realisation set in. There was no way this was just a coincidence. You thought back to your internship, and with your time with Hawks.

Hawks remained silent for a moment before he said, "I just need you to tell me why you would let him go."

You frowned, twiddling your thumbs. "He reminded me of my soulmate."

You sensed his judgey look, and you turned to look at his raised eyebrows. "Interesting."

"Not like that," you rolled your eyes half-heartedly. "I mean. . . His eyes. They were just like Todoroki's. Like, exactly. It made me think."

"About what?"

"Shouto," you said quietly. He looked at you, frowning at your expression. With a shaky voice, you asked, "Was his death confirmed?"

He slowly nodded his head, ". . . Yes. His death was confirmed. But my father always believed he might still be. . ."

He looked at your face, sweat forming around your forehead.

". . . Alive. (Y/N), is there something you're not telling me?"

God, should you even tell him?

"(Y/N)," he said, leaning closer to your face. "If there's something, anything, I would rather you tell me now than have it be revealed to me later."

"I-I don't know anything for sure," you said, looking down at your fingers. When you found the courage to look back up at him, you voice cracked when you told him, "But I think he might. . . He might be D-Dabi."

Rather than freak the fuck out like you were expecting him to, he slowly nodded his head, taking your words in. He had a frown on his face as he thought. "How certain are you about this?"

"I mean," you sighed, "I'm probably wrong. But his eyes looked as blue as your left one, and his quirk was blue fire. It just reminded me an awful lot like you. I don't know anything for sure though. I can be wrong. It was just. . . Strange."

Todoroki nodded again, and his eyes found yours. "Thank you. Whether this is credible or not, thank you. You could be right, or you could be wrong. What's important to me is that you brought this to my attention."

"Are you okay?" You asked gently.

He chuckled at you, smiling gently. "I'm okay. It has come as a shock to me, but until I know for sure, then yes, I am okay. I'll let Fuyumi and Natsuo know."

The steady look he gave you reassured you a bit, but you still weren't certain. "Are you sure—"

He cut you off, shaking his head and gently gripping your chin between his fingers. Leaning in closely, he softly said, "I promise to you: I am okay."

You watched him closely, looking into his eyes to find any sort of negativity. All you saw was affection and sparkles. You felt like you were in an anime.

"This is some Maid Sama shit right here."

He chuckled at you before finally closing the gap between you two, gently pressing his lips to yours. You felt butterflies burst in your stomach, and you subconsciously gripped onto his shirt, kissing him back.

Suddenly, you felt a sharp pain hit your head. Though quick, it still hurt, so much that even Todoroki noticed it a bit. He frowned and pulled away as you rubbed your head, blinking away black dots. "Are you alright?" He asked. "My head just ached, so I feel like yours might be worse. You didn't get hit at any point, did you?"

You shook your head, confused. "Not that I'm aware of. Although that might be a strong sign. Probably got hit so hard that I forgot about it completely. I bet I looked like a Looney Tunes character when it happened."

Relieved you were fine, he leaned his head against yours, his eyes shining as he smiled at you. You noticed the red across his cheeks as he shyly said, "I've missed that."

"Kissing? Me too, fam, it's real nice."

Pecking your forehead, he said, "Not just that. I mean you."

You almost 'aw'ed right there. Leaning in, you gently kissed his nose, causing his face to erupt in red. "I missed you too."
