"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

When you entered your aunt's hospital room and saw her with multiple burns on her, an IV drip in her arm, the heart monitor, the artificial ventilators, and the multiple tubes sticking out of her, you almost threw up.
Just despair. Complete despair is all you felt as you watched her breathe slowly. She looked like she was in so much pain. . .
"How bad is she?" you asked, turning to the nurse who stood at the doorway. When she hesitated for a moment, your heart began pounding in your chest, and you asked again, louder this time, "How bad is she?"
"She. . . She's on life support, honey."
You felt your blood run cold, and you looked back at your aunt. Who the fuck would do this to anyone? What kind of fucked up monster would–
Your mind froze. Everything stopped. You couldn't hear anything. Not the loud beeping of the machines, not the bright LED lights. Your only thought, your only focus, was that one person.
"It's a shame your aunt isn't here. She would have been fun to mess with."
But why? It's not liked you declined any offer he made. You just pulled a sword on him. He was in your home. What else were you supposed to do? Did he offer you anything? He didn't from what you knew of, so it's not like you did anything he didn't like. Unless he was really touchy on having a sword pointed at him. But he broke into your house first!
"(Y/N)!" You hadn't realised Bakugou was calling your name until he finally shouted it, snapping you out of your rage-filled trance. Your eyes flicked to him, your glare not meant for him, but still aimed directly at him. He looked straight back at you, unafraid, "I think we should get you home."
You looked at your aunt one last time, blinking back angry tears before quickly turning away and leaving the room, Bakugou bidding his mum a quick goodbye before following you, trying to keep up with your pace.
You had exited the hospital now, ignoring Bakugou's protests as you stepped out into the rain without any issue. When he had called your name for the thousandth time, you finally huffed in frustration and spun around, looking at him. You had no idea how, but he had snagged an umbrella before entering the rain, and was standing under it as he glared at you. "What, Bakugou?"

"Get the fuck under this umbrella now," he said sternly, and you scoffed.
"I don't think a little fucking rain will hurt. At least I wasn't nearly burnt to death and sitting in a coma on life support, right? God, why would he fucking do that? I didn't do anything, he threatened me!"
"What?" Bakugou said, quieter now, as his gaze narrowed in on you. "Who?"
Realising your slip, you shook your head, waving him off, "Nothing. Who the fuck would do that?!"
"(Y/N), do you have someone after you?"
His question made you so badly want to just scream in rage. Because you did. And you wanted to tell him. But what if he got hurt next? You couldn't tell Todoroki, now that you were aware of the consequences. But why your aunt, of all people? She's the one that looked after you when no one else could. This wasn't fair on her.
Oh, he'd better hope she'd make it out alive. Otherwise it was the underworld for him. Todoroki's relative or not.
"You need to fucking tell me if there's someone after you, (Y/N)!" Bakugou had to shout over the rain, but that wasn't a problem for him.
"There is no one after me!" You shouted back, beginning to get frustrated now. "But whoever did this is gonna have their asses kicked. I'm going to fucking murder them and watch them fade away if she dies in that room."
Bakugou ran a hand over his face, shaking his head as he cursed to himself, watching you. Your gaze was set on the hospital, droplets from the rain falling onto your face rapidly. You didn't mind any of it, your eyes blinking slowly as they moved from the hospital to him. Then, suddenly, as if nothing had happened, you said, "Let's go home, I need to study."
Bakugou moved to shield you from the rain with the umbrella. The last time you were like this, it was the previous year with your parents. You had gone through complete denial for three months, until you finally sat at their funeral, tears streaming down your face upon seeing your family photo at their shared gravesite.
He didn't ask you about anything, remembering how much good that did him the last time this happened. He knew you just needed time, and hopefully your aunt would be okay in the end.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
"Hey, (Y/N), are you okay?" Midoriya had asked you when you all came back to school, and you frowned at him in slight confusion.
"What?"
Midoriya looked at you carefully, remembering this sort of behaviour last year. Although he didn't exactly know what was going on during the time like Bakugou did, he did remember the strange attitude. It was only after the funeral did he realise what was going on. Now that he was seeing it again, and knowing about your aunt, he knew what to expect.

He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck before saying, "Your aunt, (Y/N)-chan. How is she doing?"
"Oh," you said, nonchalantly turning back to your bag that you were unpacking at your desk. "She's doing well. Nothing has changed, so that's a good sign when you look at it that way."
"A-Ah,"Midoriya nodded, watching you. You didn't seem bothered, but he knew better than that. However, he did decide to let it go. "Okay. Let me know how she goes, alright?"
You looked up at him, smiling and nodding, "Thanks, Izuku."
He nodded his head back, hesitantly walking over to Iida.
Before you could put down your bag yourself, Todoroki popped up out of nowhere and took it from your hands, placing it on the back of the chair you were sitting on. Pulling a chair over, he gently grabbed your hands and said, "How are you feeling? Do you need me to do anything for you?"
You sat there shocked for a quick second before laughing, squeezing his hands gently and saying, "No, Shouto, it's okay. Thank you, though. I'm just grabbing my stuff out for the lesson."
"Are you worried? Do you want me to go ask Mr. Aizawa if I can make you some tea?"
You knew he was trying to comfort you, but it isn't what you wanted, and you were beginning to get uncomfortable. "No-No, it's okay. Really, I'm fine."
"But you should be concerned about your aunt. Especially in the state she's in."
You blinked rapidly, slowly looking off to the side, your mind straying back to her. You had been going so well, assuming she would be fine, but those thoughts were beginning to leave, being replaced with more negative ones again. "It-It's okay. I'm okay–"
"I'm always here for you, just so you're aware. Whether things get better or worse–" he was suddenly interrupted when you shot up out of your chair, your heart beating rapidly as your breathing got shaky. This caused the class to look at you concerned, watching as you swallowed harshly.
"I'm-I'm. . . Uh. . ." Bakugou came around quickly, sensing your distress. He gently grabbed your arm and led you out of the classroom. Despite knowing he was just comforting you and knew what to do, it didn't stop Todoroki's jealousy and frustration from shooting through the roof.
Why couldn't he just comfort his girlfriend? Why was another guy coming in and stepping in for him? Bakugou wasn't your boyfriend, Todoroki was. What did he say that caused you such distress? He was just listing things off and telling you that he would be there for you either way.
"Todoroki. . ." Kaminari and Kirishima slowly approached him, taking their own chairs from the desk next to him and sitting in them. Todoroki's frown was now pointed at them, but they weren't afraid. Kirishima spoke up, "I don't think the way you approached things were too great. She was under the impression that her aunt would get better. The way you phrased things made it seem like she wasn't going to make it."
"I was just listing out every scenario–" Kaminari interrupted Todoroki's sentence.
"We know. You didn't mean any harm by it, and you were just trying to express how you would always be there for her, right?" Upon Todoroki's nod of agreement, he continued, "You can't list every scenario like that in front of her. You just need to promise that whatever happens, you'll be there. You also need to convince her, though, that her aunt will get better. Don't make any promises, just encourage her."
Todoroki sighed, nodding his head. "Okay. I understand. I was a bit too. . . Forward."
Kaminari chuckled softly, and Kirishima patted the dual-haired boy on the back sympathetically, "It gets better, man. But right now, you just need to convince her she'll be okay and comfort her."
"How can I do that when Bakugou is stepping in every second?" Todoroki said, causing Kaminari and Kirishima to look at each other. "I can't comfort her if he's always jumping in every second. And even when I do try to, it doesn't seem to work. Again, he's not her soulmate. I am."
"At the end of the day, Todoroki," Mina jumped in, sitting on the desk Kaminari was at. "Bakugou knows her more than anyone. Even though you're soulmates, it doesn't mean you know each other. Yes, you have a bond stronger than anything in the world, but in terms of relationships, you guys need to grow. Just like every person. You need to talk to Bakugou. Ask him how to help you. Getting frustrated isn't going to fix anything."
Todoroki thought about that in silence for a while, and Mina patted his shoulder and left, Kaminari and Kirishima following soon after.
They were right, and he knew it. He needed to talk to Bakugou.
As hard as that was going to be, it needed to happen.
