"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."
- Julie Dillon

You both just remained where you were and watched the match. You would flinch from time to time as Todoroki kept getting hit.
"Are you alright?" He asked, noticing your winces of pain.
You cleared your throat, sighing before crossing your arms and leaning against the wall, your eyes still on the match. The aching in your arms and leg and stomach and head and everywhere bothered you, knowing Todoroki would have been facing much worse. "Uhm, yeah. It's just that thing where every time Todoroki gets injured, I feel it too."
Kaminari frowned, having completely forgotten about that. "I forgot about that. . . Do you feel the same amount of pain as him?"
You shook your head in reply, "No. It's usually just numbed down. Like, for example, if he were to get punched in the stomach or something, I'd just feel a small ache for a moment. But like he said when I electrocuted my foot, injuries like those ache for a while until mine stops."
Kaminari nodded his head, biting his lip as he gazed at you, still wincing. "Do you–"
Before he could even finish his sentence, a strong gust of win knocked you both over, and you could hear the distressed shouts of the audience. When he looked over at you to make sure you were okay, he saw you crouched down on the ground, one arm around your stomach, the other clutching your head.
Sharp pains were stabbing at your brain, and your stomach felt like it had been pummelled in with a hammer fifty times. Your ears were ringing, and everything Kaminari was saying to you sounded blurry.

Despite the pain, you knew one thing: Todoroki was definitely going through worse. So, ignoring the protests of Kaminari, you stumbled to your feet and pushed through your soulmate's pain, rushing over. You heard the announcement declaring the winner, and when Todoroki was in your line of sight, you were horrified at what you saw.
Todoroki was on the ground, leaning against bits of his own ice, nearly passed out. You saw Bakugou trudging over to him, not seeming to take into account that they were both beaten to the bone. You watched as Bakugou gripped onto Todoroki's shirt, lifting him up and yelling at him for something.
You watched as Todoroki passed out, your own pain disappearing. Finally, you rushed over, taking him from Bakugou's hand, "Bakugou, that's enough!"
He 'tch'ed, only sparing you two a few seconds of a second glance before walking away. Todoroki is no longer moving. Bakugou won.

You paced in front of Todoroki's bed, glancing over at him every two seconds. He had woken up when he was brought to Recovery Girl, glancing up at you with hazy eyes before they drooped shut again, sending you in a mother-like frenzy at the sight of your soulmate not even being able to stay awake from how much he was BEAT.
You stopped in front of his bed once you saw him wake up, being relieved when you couldn't feel any of his pain. "Hey, how are you feeling?" You asked gently, approaching him by the side of his bed.
He looked up at you, sitting up with ease before rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "I'm doing okay. What about you?"
You sighed, sitting on the edge of his bed and looking back at him, "I think you should be a bigger concern, seeming as you got beat up so much you passed out. I felt your pain, Todoroki. And that was it dulled down. So I'm going to ask again: How are you feeling?"

Todoroki stared at you for a while, saying nothing. He looked like he was thinking about something. You were about to ask, but he gripped onto your hand and said, "Come here."
Ohhhh, SHIT. He knows about Kaminari, doesn't he?
Based on the look on his face, he did.
He shuffled over, patting the spot beside him, gesturing for you to sit next to him. Gulping nervously, you obliged, making sure you were ready to get up and run when the time came for it. He looked down at you, almost frowning, and your heart beat rapidly in your chest.
"Are you okay?"
You froze. You weren't ever okay, but why was he asking you that instead of. . .
Clearing your throat, you looked back at him, saying, "Yeah, I'm fine. You're not the one who should be asking that, though. You're the one who was beat senseless."
His frown deepened, "You make me sound weak, (Y/N)."
You panicked, waving your hands in front of you, shaking your head. "Nononononnononononononononono, that's not what I meant–"
He let out a breath of air, of which you assumed was a chuckle, before softly smiling and saying, "I know."
Leaning in, he slowly placed his lips on yours, causing your heart to lurch out of your chest and butterflies to erupt in your stomach. It was sudden, but you were a thirsty hoe, so you kissed him right back. You thought it would just be a normal single kiss, but he kept going.
Placing one hand on your cheek, the other one travelled down to your waist, gripping onto it gently. You found your own hands travelling up to his red and white hair, trailing your fingers through the strands. You accidentally tugged on it in the process, and his breath hitched, leaning further into you.
"Wow, I didn't know ya'll were that thirsty."
"Ka-Kaminari, let's go!"
Quickly pulling away from each other, you and Todoroki looked up and saw Kaminari and Midoriya at the foot of the bed, Midoriya slowly sinking to the floor in embarrassment, and Kaminari nodding his head casually, like he just didn't watch two people make out.
"How come you both are always here when I'm even just in the infirmary?" You asked, moving away from Todoroki. Kaminari seemed to be thinking quite a bit while he watched you two move away from each other, but he shook his head quickly and said, "I don't know. I guess it's just our destiny to always be here. Maybe for comedic relief for the readers. It's supposed to be an ongoing joke, I guess."
". . ."
". . ."
". . . What?"
"I don't even know what I just said."
"ANYWAY." You said. "What is up, bros?"
Midoriya spoke up, slowly standing up, his face still as red as Kirishima's hair. "The-The-The-The-The-The-The-The-The-The–"
"What he's trying to say is that the awards are being announced. Todoroki needs to go and claim his second place award." Kaminari said, slinging an arm over the still stuttering boy's shoulders.
Todoroki nodded, getting up from the bed. "Okay. Thank you."
Kaminari nodded his head, pursing his lips before saying, "No problem, dude."
He smiled at you half-heartedly before turning around and dragging Midoriya with him as he rushed out. You frowned, guilt filling your entire fucking soul. The first thing he saw was you and Todoroki making out. That's gross. Ya'll are gross.
You got off the infirmary bed, looking at Todoroki and asking, "Are you ready?"
He nodded his head, walking around the bed. "Yes."
As you both walked out and rounded the corner, Todoroki asked, "Do you think they've restrained Bakugou?"
"Oh, one hundred percent."

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
