"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

You waved Todoroki off to the arena, flipping off Bakugou when he was in your line of sight. He half-assed returned it.
You were going to walk back to your seat to watch, but someone grabbed your hand, stopping you from moving any further. You turned around, seeing Kaminari standing behind you. "Hey, dude. What's up?"
The look he gave you was one you had never received from him. His cheeks went a light shade of pink, and he gazed at you with a look of affection, looking at you like you were a trophy. Your heart faltered as you remembered what Bakugou said to you earlier.
You mentally sighed, feeling upset. You really loved being friends with Kaminari. You two got along beautifully, and you were like two peas in a pod. You didn't want to throw all of that away for something that would hurt the both of you in the end.
Kaminari rubbed the back of his neck, his soft smile faltering as he said, "Can we talk?"
"Uhm. . ." you hesitantly said, looking at the match between Bakugou and Todoroki, not catching your soulmate's gaze as you turn your head back to the boy in front of you. "Yeah. As long as it isn't too long. I gotta watch this to see who kills each other first."
You tried joking around, but you could only laugh awkwardly as he chuckled, noticing his look toward you. It hurt so much to see it: the look of pure adoration and sadness. Like he knew you were going to reject him. Like he knew he didn't have a chance.

He let you stay where you were so you were able to keep an eye on the match, knowing how worried you would have been for the two of them. He leaned against the wall, his hands in his pockets as he said, "It's. . . Uh. . . Pretty important."
You hadn't heard him properly, still trying to focus on the match and, despite your earlier joke, making sure they actually didn't hurt each other too much. You didn't want to give another hospital lecture like you had with Bakugou and Midoriya a few chapters ago.
Kaminari huffed out, growing impatient as you refused to pay attention. "(Y/N)," he said more sternly this time.
You didn't hear him again, wincing as you watched the two boys throw hits upon hits against each other, feeling your arms and stomach ache from Bakugou's hits to Todoroki.
Kaminari's eyes darkened, and he strode toward you. Turning you around so your back was to the match, he gripped your chin with his fingers and forcefully tilted your head up so you were looking directly at him. "Look at me."
You froze, looking at him with wide eyes. Okay, it was time to be serious. You would have to ignore the match for now.
He sighed, shaking his head and letting go of you before stepping away. "I'm just going to come right out and say it: I really fucking like you, (Y/N)."
You sighed, your eyes flickering to your shoes. You knew it.
Before you were able to say much, he spoke up first, "I know you won't accept my feelings. And I know you like Todoroki a lot, which you should. He's your soulmate." Based on the deep breath he took and the way he blinked his eyes repeatedly, you could see how much saying those words hurt him, causing a knife to go through your heart at the sight.

"But I needed to tell you. I'm hoping that by telling you, it will help me let go of it. I just know that bottling it up will only make it worse, so if telling you helps me recover, then I will do that." His voice cracked at his next words. "I don't want this to ruin anything, because goddammit, I will never live my life the same if I have to lose you as my friend. But shit, (Y/N), you're fucking beautiful. You're funny, you get my jokes, we laugh all the time it's ridiculous. And I don't want to lose that. So please, don't let this ruin this relationship we already have. I love you too much to lose you."
You felt a lump form in your throat as tears pricked at your eyes. You didn't want to lose him either. You were also hoping that rejecting him would be a bit easier than this.
You looked up at him, trying to hold back your tears as your own voice cracked, "No, sweetie, it won't ruin our friendship. But I need you to understand that I really like Todoroki, and not just because he's my soulmate. I love you, Denki, but I can't return those feelings. I'm sorry."
Kaminari shook his head, noticing your tears and approaching you again, grabbing your face gently between his hands. You noticed his own pained tears in his eyes, his Adam's apple bopping up and down as he struggled to find his words, "N-No. Don't you dare apologise. I am not going to force you to like me, and I will get over this. I'm sorry for springing this onto you. But I need you to understand that I won't get over these feelings right away. It will be awkward for a while, but I promise to the heavenly All Might that I will not let this get in the way of our friendship."
You choked out a laugh at his use of words, and he smiled gently at you, his own tears falling from his eyes as he was able to see you smile. "I love you, okay? And not just romantically. I mean in general. If Todoroki ever hurts you, tell me. I'll beat his ass."
You snorted, and he laughed as well. You nodded your head, "Okay."
He smiled down at you, wiping away your falling tears before bringing you in for a big hug, resting his chin on top of your head. You sniffled in his chest, your chest burning with guilt, "I'm sorry."
"No," Kaminari said, shaking his head as he tried blinking away his tears, looking up at the ceiling. "don't say that. You have no right to say that. These are my feelings. Just promise me we won't drift apart because of this."
"I promise." You said without hesitation, hugging him more.
Kaminari smiled to himself, closing his eyes as he let the last of his first round of tears fall, "Good."
