"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."
- Julie Dillon

In the end, Bakugou defeated Uraraka. However, she put up such a huge fight it was hard to tell who the real victor was. They were both sent off to the infirmary (despite Bakugou's protests), and you let Todoroki know that you were going to follow them, just to check in.
There was an arm wrestle match to decide the winner between Kirishima and Tetsutetsu. Kirishima eventually one, and you were impressed by how similar their quirks were.
It was now onto the quarter-finals, and you would be facing Iida next. You were nervous as hell, however instead of going to one of the waiting rooms to hype yourself up, you decided to stick around and watch Todoroki and Midoriya, who were fighting first.
You were going to hype Midoriya up before the fight, but you had remembered that Todoroki would be fighting also. You almost broke your brain trying to decide who to go to, but Uraraka saved the day and went to Midoriya.
"Todoroki!" you called from from down the dark corridor. You heard the distant cheers from the crowd not too far away. He turned to you, surprised, "(Y/N). . ."
"Are you ready?" you asked, and he hesitated before nodding his head, not convincing you, "What's up?"
He gazed at you for a moment, looking like he was deciding something. He finally spoke up, "Should I use my father's quirk?"
You were surprised, thinking he was completely adamant on using his dad's quirk. However, you could tell he was genuinely conflicted about the issue, so you placed a warm hand on his arm and gently asked, "What brought this up?"
"I hate him so much that I don't want to use his quirk–"
"Well, it's your quirk, not his."
He froze, staring down at you, "Wha-What?"
"That quirk belongs to you. You have every bit of control over it. In no way does he control it. Just because you inherited it from him doesn't mean it's his. Because guess what? Just like how you got your quirk from his genes, he also got his quirk from his parents' genes. But do you hear him saying it's their quirk?"
Todoroki didn't answer, and you smiled sympathetically at him. Soon enough, his face went beet red as he continued to stare at you, and you freaked out. "TODOROKI, ARE YOU GOOD?! ARE YOU BREATHING? DON'T MAKE ME CALL RECOVERY GIRL, I DON'T WANT HER TO HIT ME AGA–"

You immediately stopped talking when you felt something warm press against your cheek. Todoroki had stepped closer to you, and your hands subconsciously gripped onto his shirt as he kissed your cheek. He lingered there for a moment, and you heard Present Mic announce the contestants to enter the arena.
Todoroki pulled away, and you smiled up at him as he did the same back, "Don't hurt him too much, alright?"
"Don't worry, Uraraka will look after him."
For some odd reason, you felt your heart falter slightly when he said this, and you watched him walk away from you so he could enter the arena. You stood there for a moment, looking across from you to the other end, seeing Midoriya hug Uraraka tightly before making his own way to the arena. They smiled widely at each other, and you felt a small sting of pain in your chest.
You scoffed at yourself. You were being ridiculous. Yes, you and Midoriya would grow a little bit more distant because of the soulmate thing, but you wouldn't grow apart so much that you'd barely be able to talk again.
Right?
You sighed stressfully, making your way back to your seat next to Bakugou. Plopping yourself in it, you kept eyes on the arena. Bakugou noticed your mood, "What the hell is up with you?"
You shook your head, waving your hand dismissively, "Nothing."
"They'll be fine. Maybe not that fucking nerd, seeming as he's a weak little shit, but they're legally not allowed to kill each other."
"No one is legally allowed to kill each other, Katsuki. And stop calling Izuku a nerd." You replied dully, only half-present in the conversation as you watched the match begin.
"He is a nerd. Literally every sign points to it."
"I think every sign points to you being the real nerd." You winced as the boys landed a few hits on each other, slightly feeling each hit Todoroki received on your own body.
'So this is what he meant. . .'
"HAH? WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME?!" He shouted at you, and you sighed, feeling the familiar ring in your ear. You were really going to go deaf at such an early age because of this kid.
"Well, you're at the top of our class, right? You're always strict on studying. Not only that, but you go to bed at eight p.m.. I don't know about you, but that screams 'nerd' to me."
You heard a few chuckles behind you, and Kaminari, who sat on the other side of you, tried to hide a wheeze of laughter. You chuckled a little bit as well, glad you were able to make others laugh, but that was immediately wiped when noticing flames engulf half the arena.

In panic, you jumped up out of your seat, heart racing as you tried to make out what was going on. "WHAT THE HELL–"
Kaminari grabbed your hand, pulling you back down before saying, "It's Todoroki. He's using his fire."
You grinned proudly, but also felt kind of bad.
'Did I really just miss a pivotal point in my man's life because I was making nerd jokes?'
You did.
Nonetheless, you laughed in shock when he proceeded to use it in battle. You didn't know what happened to cause him to use it, but you were happy for him. Then you heard something strange in the distance, down further ahead:
"SHOOOOOOOOUUUUUTOOOOOOOO!"
You frowned, glaring down at the psychopath that was Todoroki's dad as he laughed maniacally.
"What a weirdo." Kaminari said, frowning in slight fear at Endeavor.
"That's an understatement," you mumbled, shaking your head and leaning back in your seat.
You watched tensely as both Midoriya and Todoroki powered up, and with a flash of bright light, a huge gust of wind hit you. You felt debris hit your face, and you quickly went to cover it so none of it would get in your eyes.
After a few seconds, the wind died down, and you were immediately up, fearing the worst. You didn't waste any time in running down the stairs, no one trying to stop you, and you ran to the barricade, ignoring Endeavor and jumping over it.
You waited for the smoke and dust to recede before noticing your best friend on the ground at the wall ahead of you. Your heart completely dropped in your chest, and you ran over to him.
The medical team had gotten to him first, and so while they lifted him onto a stretcher, you looked around urgently for Todoroki. You saw him in the middle of the arena still, huffing and puffing with half of his shirt burnt off. Seeing that he was fine and still standing, you turned to follow Midoriya being rolled away quickly.
However, Uraraka ran past you, getting to him before you could. You halted in your tracks, watching as she followed them, Todoroki's words from earlier coming to mind:
"Don't worry, Uraraka will look after him."
You looked down, hesitantly turning back around and walking back the way you came from. You looked for Todoroki, noticing that he was now gone. You left the arena once noticing that his father had also disappeared.
You were about to enter the corridor where you were talking to Todoroki before his match, but you noticed two people were there. Recognising the flames and red and white hair, you backed away and hid around the corner.
"After you graduate, come work for me." You recognised the grossness that was Endeavor, and you kept listening, feeling slightly guilty for eavesdropping.
"You know, when I used this power, I didn't think of you once," you heard Todoroki say.
It went silent between them, and you were almost worried that they had discovered you. Then Endeavor spoke up again, "Why haven't you introduced me to your soulmate?"
You felt your heart stop, and you listened in carefully. "Because she doesn't need to be faced with the likes of you. You're the last person I'll introduce her to. Stay away from her."
You heard his receding footsteps, and you awkwardly stood there, not knowing what to do. You could wait for Endeavor to leave, but you wouldn't know what way he was going to go. You could walk past him and hide your arm from him, but he probably would recognised you from the events anyway.
Deciding to wait, you felt your shoulders sag in relief when he left, moving away from your rather than toward you. You slowly peeked around the corner, watching him turn a corner at the end of the corridor, disappearing around it. Wanting to get to Todoroki quickly, you sped-walked down, peeking around the corner his dad turned down to see if he was still there.
"(Y/N)—"
"HOLY MOTHER OF SWEET CHILLI MCNUGGET SAUCE, WHO'S TRYING TO FUCK WITH ME—" you cut your own stupidity off once you turned around and saw Todoroki. You immediately switched, "Hey! Are you okay? You took a few hits back there. Are you hurt anywhere serious? I felt a few of them a little bit, so some of those must have been quite harsh. I'm so proud of you for using your fire! You're going to need a new shirt. Wow, goddamn, you're kinda HOT—"
"(Y/N)!" Todoroki loudly let out, interrupting you from your rambling. You looked up at him. "I'm fine. And thank you."
You blushed at how close he was (considering half his shirt was gone) and cleared your throat. "Are you sure?"
He smiled softly down at you, nodding his head. "You should get ready for your match with Iida."
You had completely forgotten about that, so when Todoroki told you, it almost came as a surprise. "O-Oh! Right! Then I'll see you later?"
He nodded his head, "I'm going to change my uniform and I'll be out there watching you in no time."
You felt your heart warm at his support, and you grinned before saying, "Okay. Thank you."
He smiled down at you before kissing your forehead and saying, "Good luck."
