"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

Midoriya had called you that next Saturday morning. Mind you, it was around seven in the morning, so you weren't exactly happy to answer the phone. "Midoriya, give me one reason why I shouldn't punch you through this phone right now."
You heard him gulp on the other end of the call, knowing that he was in trouble if you weren't using his given name. "(Y-Y/N)-chan, listen, I know you don't like waking up early in the morning, but me, Uraraka-chan and another friend of mine were planning on going to go that place we usually go to when we just want to hang out. You know, the meadow with the waterfall further down hidden in that forest?"
You sat up at that, now on full alert. "You mean our special place for us and only us?"
"You know I won't show anyone that place, (Y/N)-chan. They won't be able to find it anyway, it's hidden. We'll just be hanging out in that general area, I promise."
You sighed, thinking it over. When you and Midoriya were around seven, you both had run off from your parents in the middle of the picnic you guys were having at the meadow. The forest was only a few feet away, and you two had managed to get to the middle of it, where the was a waterfall and a big lake connected to it. You two had never been so amazed in your lives. You both had done some exploring, and it was only your fourth time visiting had you two found the cave behind the waterfall. It was rather small, but was still cozy.
That was where you two had gone every time you went to the meadow with your parents, and eventually every afternoon once you guys were old enough to spend the afternoons out on your own. It was your little sanctuary.

You trusted Midoriya. He was your best friend, you had to. So you agreed. "Alright. When do you plan on going?"
"In about an hour. Meet me at my house, we'll all leave together!" He said enthusiastically, and you smiled at his tone, already seeing his brightly lit smile on his face.
"Alrighty. I'll see you soon."
You both bid your goodbyes and hung up. Once you forced yourself out of bed, you slowly got ready, changing into suitable attire before going downstairs. You quickly ate your breakfast, bidding your aunt goodbye before leaving the house.
Arriving at Midoriya's house ten minutes later, you were about to knock on the door when someone called your name from behind you. "(Y/N)-san."
You froze at the monotone voice, almost fuming. Was this a joke?
You didn't even turn around to look at him, you just acknowledged his presence. "Todoroki."
The door opened slowly, and you saw Midoriya's scared-shitless face as he stared at you in fear. "He-Hey, (Y/N)-chan."
"Midoriya," you said, glaring at him.
He laughed nervously, using the door as a barricade to protect himself from your wrath. "I can uh. . . I can explain."
"You can explain on our way there." Once you said this, Uraraka approached you guys.
"Hey, guys! Are we ready to go?" You nodded your head in reply before turning back to look at Midoriya, giving him a warning glance. However, he was already happily talking to Uraraka. You felt a slight pang of jealousy.
'Better not steal my best friend away from me, bro.'
You guys had arrived at the meadow twenty minutes later, and you and Midoriya led the way to the waterfall in the forest. Once you guys arrived, both Uraraka and Todoroki stared at the tall stream of water falling into the lake in astonishment.
"WOAH~" Uraraka smiled, her eyes widening as she looked up. You smiled at her before saying, "Is it cool?"
"COOL?! IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!" She exclaimed excitedly, hugging you tightly, causing you to laugh at her silliness. Uraraka noticed the bed of flat rocks going across the lake at the bottom of the waterfall, and she gasped, her eyes literally shining at the sight. "CAN WE GO OVER TO THE ROCKS?"

You laughed, patting her head and saying, "As long as you're okay with getting a bit wet. You go on ahead without me. I need to talk with Izuku quickly."
She nodded her head, smiling giddily before grabbing Todoroki's wrist and dragging him along with her. "Let's go, Todoroki-kun!"
He couldn't do anything but go along with her, her strength surprisingly powerful for such a small girl. You grinned at her.
You turned to Midoriya, and he was looking at Uraraka with a loving smile on his face, and you couldn't help but smile at his gaze. He was really in love with his soulmate.
You frowned, being reminded of what happened with Todoroki. You tapped Midoriya's shoulder, and he looked at you, snapping out of his daze. "Yes, (Y/N)-chan?"
"So why'd you invite Todoroki?" You asked flatly, and he nervously stuttered out a response.
"Well, I thought you'd rather have your soulmate here with you, seeming as you wouldn't be third wheeling me and Uraraka-chan."
You sighed before sitting down on the grass, him slowly lowering himself next to you, plopping down and sticking his legs out in front of him, his hands behind him to prop himself up from the ground. You spoke up, "You know my issue with Todoroki, Izuku."
Midoriya sighed before nodding his head, "I know, (Y/N)-chan. I just didn't want you to be alone, and I thought it'd be a good idea for you guys to get along. I'm sorry–"
"No," you interrupted, looking at him. "Don't you dare apologise. I shouldn't be pulling you into my mess."
"But that's what I'm here for, right? We get involved with each other's messes, and we deal with it together." He said, smiling gently at you. You smiled back at him, your pressures releasing off your chest slightly. This was what you needed. Your long-overdue chat with Izuku at your little sanctuary.
"Do you know what happened yesterday afternoon when I went to Todoroki's house to get to know him better?" He shook his head in reply. "Well, we were playing a game of Never Have I Ever. It was normal silly things at first, but then he said 'never have I ever wanted to be with someone other than my soulmate'. Which pissed me off, because so far he hasn't really expressed that he wants to be my soulmate, just that he has to.
"So, anyway, in retaliation, I said, 'Never have I ever thought of my soulmate as a task rather than a partner'. His sister came in a few seconds later, so he didn't put his finger down, but I saw him go to move it. Izuku, I don't know what to do. This soulmate thing is stressing me out. How can we be soulmates when he doesn't even feel anything for me? And on top of that, we're LEGENDS. How is any of that supposed to make sense?"
You let out a puff of air from your cheeks, looking down at the gold letters on you arm, almost shimmering in the light. You frowned at them.
"Hey, (Y/N)-chan," Midoriya said, moving his head in your view so you would look at him. "I can assure you that Todoroki does feel things for you. It may just take some time. I don't know why he thinks of you as a task, but I can assure you that's not what you are. He will eventually realise that. Okay?"
You nodded your head, smiling slightly before saying, "Okay."
He smiled at you before saying softly, "Okay. How about we join those two then, huh? Todoroki looks scared."
You looked at where he was looking, noticing that Todoroki was standing right in the middle of the rocks, the waterfall falling on him as he stood there like a deer caught in headlights. You couldn't help but laugh at him before standing up. "Yeah, let's go."

By opening with a story about suicide, I want the reader to understand that the injustice was not just something that happened long ago. This book is an account of all the accomplishments and successes that I had in overcoming tremendous odds and challenges. Growing up, I was paralyzed by shyness and lacked social skills, and so the idea of becoming a psychotherapist never occurred to me when I went off to college. I learned that I could overcome those limitations. I wanted to bring that hope and healing to others. Activities like that make life meaningful and bring me joy. The reasons why I was suicidal in 2019 were set in motion in 2000 when a meteor would come crashing down upon the life that I had built leaving me powerless to do anything other than watching everything burn to ashes - the home that I had, the life I had known, the love I had, my career, everything would disappear almost as if it never existed. In that one the year 2000, I could not imagine things could get any worse. But the nightmare would continue for the next few years... culminating in a suicide attempt in 2019. Now, I am connecting with others, building relationships, and finding a reason to live again. I am writing my own story of my life. I will fight against the injustice of the past and offer my gifts to the world. I have so much to offer. I have quite a story to tell. I hope you will help me to move on with my life.
