The sound of clapping could be heard around the stadium. But only one was up with a wide grin on their face. Lord Joy stood clapping his hands. "That was marvelous. I shall add a special rule, neither of these two may drop out now. Can't wait to see you both fight." Everyone at that point was screaming and clapping for joy.

While Jet was processing what Lord Joy had said, Stix approached him. "What have you done?"

Jet waved a hand at him. "Missed you, apparently." He turned to walk out of the giant arena. A frown crossed his face as he walked. He had killed so many people, yet he felt really good. Now he hoped that he wasn't becoming a psychopath. Once at the exit to the arena, guards took him back to his waiting room. Which was now where he had to stay. They even added the magic canceling bracelet.

Jet sat down on the couch and closed his eyes. "What a mess I've made." He reached out for the world inside him, and nothing happened. 'That's odd. It wasn't too hard to enter before.'

The door flew open, and Gegol stormed in. "You made a right mess with that stunt."

"Yeah, I was aiming for Stix." Jet acted as if killing all of them people did not affect him. When he thought about them, it didn't affect him that much. Not after half the stuff he had read about them.

"Oh, that, nothing wrong with killing a bunch of criminals. You left four slots empty, and you caught Lord Joy's eye. That's the problem. Also, Stix is from a very prominent family. You have been marked for death. Now that is another issue. We have to make sure you don't die out of the arena. Your family is already as good as dead." Gegol eyed Jet.

"No problem there, then. I have no family." Jet left out on this world.

"I guess if that isn't an issue, then the next one. They are asking for four more volunteers. If my contacts are right, they will all be assassins to kill you. Stix's family won't want you to fight him after that brilliant spectacle." Gegol had an odd grin plastered on her face.

"I have a question." Gegol turned to Jet and raised an eyebrow. Jet took it as a hint to continue. "After these fights, I can enter the Alteras Tower?"

"Yes, not even Lord Joy can stop that." Jet raised an eyebrow this time. "Unless he has you killed, of course." Gegol finished.

"So I have to fight for my life." Jet smiled. "Nothing new there."

"Get some sleep if you can. Just know as long as you are in this room. You'll be safe." Gegol eyed him, and Jet took the hint. He was not going to get any sleep now.

Jet watched as Gegol left the room. "Great, what a hassle." He decided to take a bath and then teleport out of the mess. Not like he had told them about that magic. Just to be sure he could, he tried to teleport, and nothing happened. Sighing, he went to get cleaned. During his bath, he noticed an odd marking on his chest. Then he remembered the first curse Stix had thrown at him. "Crap, this is a random curse." Once he was done cleaning up, he found Fiona in his room.

"Supper is about ready. I'll be taking you there." Fiona looked Jet up and down. She didn't seem to mind his scars. Then again, he was sure she had seen plenty of people with scars.

"Will Stix be there?" Jet pointed at the weird marking on his chest. "I have a few questions for him."

"Yes, and that will be fine. However, you cannot start a fight. The penalty would be death." Fiona pointed out. Then she made her way to a side room. Which Jet remembered was a giant closet full of clothes.

"Just want to know what these markings are," Jet said.

"Looks like a curse to me. His family is known for cursing people. I knew a person that got cursed with boils. Poor girl committed suicide after a few months." Fiona yelled out from the closet.

Jet's opinion of the world dropped even more now. "Was it Stix who done that?"

Fiona came out of the closet, shaking her head. "Stix is relatively sane in that family. It was his father that done that to the poor girl."

"Alright, then, why did he try to kill me right off?" Jet asked.

"I've seen him fight. He was trying to knock you out or make you give up. It's common for volunteers to try that early. Then if Lord Joy puts on a kill-to-win rule, they don't have to worry. It will only be criminals." Fiona explained.

"And I screwed that all up. No wonder Gegol looked upset with me." Jet wished he had time magic to go back and slap himself.

"No, that's not why Gegol was mad. She is friends with the family, and now they're at her throat over the matter. Because more than likely, your fight with him will be to the death." Fiona laid out clothes for Jet to put on.

"Fiona, I can dress myself. You don't have to help me." Jet grabbed up the way to gaudy clothes.

"It is my job to make sure all contestants are properly dressed. If I let you dress yourself, Lord Joy might execute you. I know all the latest fashions." Fiona seemed to be in a poor mood. She wasn't nearly as upbeat now.

"Fiona, is your job or life at risk?" Fiona stepped back, surprised at the question. Jet smiled at her. "Tell them everything you know. I'm sure you are being threatened to learn more about me. So at least go all the way and ask those questions during a nice tea time."

"You're smarter than you look. Going to give me false information to throw them off?" Fiona frowned.

Jet finished getting dressed and gave an evil grin. "Nah, I'm going to tell you all about my magic. But they will find knowing won't help. So rest easy, Fiona, and just be you. Now, where am I eating?"

When Jet got to the cafeteria, there was no other word to describe the place. It looked like a school cafeteria. He went grabbed a tray of food and sat across from Stix. "You and I need to talk."

"I think it would be best if we didn't." Stix kept on eating.

"Too bad, I have questions. Also, I apologize for the match. Apparently, I didn't know about the unwritten rules." Stix stared at Jet as he talked. He then showed Stix the mark on his chest. "What does this curse do?"

Stix didn't answer immediately, looking the curse mark over. "So the Roulette Curse did work. But I have no clue. I haven't seen these marking's before." He took a notebook from his pocket and drew the curse down. "Has it had any effects?"

Jet let his shirt back up, covering the curse over his heart. "Are you telling me that I got an unknown curse on me?"

"Yes, it has been a while since an unknown curse went off. Most Roulette Curses are more of an annoyance than anything. Like turning pink every other day or a beard growing instantly. I could just remove the curse, although I am curious what it does." Stix gave Jet a hopeful look.

"Please remove the curse," Jet asked.

Stix pointed a finger at Jet and mumbled something, and nothing happened. "That's odd. The curse seems to be attached to your soul."

"And what does that mean?" Jet had a bad feeling.

Stix frowned. "That was self-explanatory. You cannot remove a curse attached to a soul." Jet was about to interrupt, but Stix put a hand up. "Unless it is transferred to another person." Jet started to interrupt again, and Stix stopped him. "However, the person has to be willing to take the curse."

Jet slumped in his chair and groaned. "Great, I've been cursed with who knows what, and I have to find a volunteer to take the curse."

"Yeah, but you will need to know what the curse is first. I'm sure nobody will take it without knowing." Stix tapped his chin in thought. "Or I could make an accessory to negate the curse."

"Seriously, why didn't you start with that?" Jet perked up.

Stix frowned and sat up straight. "Look, my family plans to have you killed. Three of the volunteers work for them. Just a fair warning."

Jet waved his hand. "That's fine. Lord Joy said we couldn't give up before our fight, so as long as we don't get a to the death match. We should be fine."

"So it's like that?" Stix said.

"Yes, trust me, this isn't the first time I've had people out to kill me." Jet couldn't think of a time since his first jump when he wasn't being threatened, even if some of the threats had been by Rick.

"I can see that. How did you lose the arm?" Stix asked while looking over the drawing of the curse.

"Oddly enough, I didn't lose the arm in a fight. Would have been way cooler. But lost it in a fall." Jet left out a lot of details.

"I see," Stix said distractedly.

"Find something interesting about the curse?" Jet asked.

"From what I can figure out, it has a trigger. I don't know what the trigger is, so don't ask, and from what I can tell, it will also flip off the same way." Stix said offhandedly.

"Great, and no clue as to what will happen to me?" Jet asked.

"No," Stix frowned. "I've never seen such a complex curse."

"You deal in curses. How can this be too complex?" Jet asked as he finished his food. He hadn't even realized he had been eating during the conversation.

"Ok, complex is a strong word. More like it's the oddest string of curses. Some are similar in ways but not the same." Stix pointed at some of the lines. "Like these are the ones I don't understand. I could look them up at home, maybe have my family send me a book on them."

Jet looked around, noticing an almost empty hall. "Alright, how much would it cost to make an item to suppress the curse?"

"My family's price is quite steep, mostly because they like to curse people for fun and make them pay a steep price to suppress or remove the curse. So as for a price, don't kill me during our match." Stix asked.

"Seems fair. I wasn't trying the first time. That had got out of hand, didn't think I had used that much magic." Jet wasn't lying. He had not meant to use that much magic. Not that he had used a whole lot. His magic felt like it had gotten stronger for some reason.

"Ok, then that will be our deal. Since I cannot remove the curse, I'll make an item to suppress the curse. However, it will take me some time." Stix got up and stretched. "I'm off to bed."

Jet waved. "Think I'll get some sleep as well." He made his way back to his room, which was the same way as Stix's room. But they went to their rooms without any more words. When Jet entered his room, he saw Fiona waiting for him with some tea. He had forgotten they were going to have a conversation. So while they sat and drank tea, he gave her tidbits about his magic. They decided it would be best if he didn't spill everything. It would look suspicious if she got too much out of him. After the conversation, he went straight to bed. After he set a few traps to make noise, he didn't want someone getting in and killing him while he had slept. It would have been a great time for Alex to wake up. But after a few minutes of tugging at her, he got no answer. The only time she seemed to wake up was during stressful situations.

Jet woke up the next morning and felt off. Looking down, he freaked out and jumped out of bed. Once in front of the mirror, he almost let out a scream, or she almost let out a scream. "I'm going to kill Stix if this is permanent."
