《Learn How To Love》Hangover Cure, And The Start Of Something New

💫
The next morning you awoke with a smile, memories of last night still dancing around in your head. You also woke up with a splitting headache. You checked your phone;
You sat up in bed, a blush tingling your cheeks. Grinning wide, you replied;
Maybe an exclamation point is too much. Have we reached that point yet? Does making out result in texting with exclamation points?
Steven quieted your anxieties when he sent a cartoon gif of a dancing cat.
You laughed and swung your feet off your bed.
Alone in your room, you cackled at the message before writing a reply;
🤪
You rolled your eyes with a smirk and made your way to the kitchen to pour some cereal.
Your face heated up- Steven? In your house?
S t e v e n. In your house.
You looked around. It wasn't messy, thank god, but it wasn't exactly clean either? A little cluttered... let's call it "lived in."
You'd clean a bit before he showed up, but for the time being, you were shoving cereal down the hatch like there was no tomorrow. Once you finished, you took some time to do the dishes and straighten up the house. It wasn't long before you heard a gentle knock at the door.
"Hey!" You opened the door with a smile.
"How's it going?" Steven asked casually, in the way that people do in passing. A sort of rhetorical question.
"Can't complain," you shrugged. Your smile faltered when you noticed that Steven's hands were empty.
Huh.
So maybe his hangover cure can be made with stuff most people have in their fridge?
"So, what's this concoction that's going to cure me?" You opened the fridge door and skimmed its contents. "Is it like... a ginger tea? Or something gross like milk and orange juice mixed together? Or- oh, don't tell me I'm about to have my own Heather Chandler moment," you chuckled at your own joke.

"Sorry, if I knew that I would be the one providing ingredients I would've asked for a recipe beforehand." You closed the fridge and leaned against it, the back of your head throbbing slightly.
"Uh... it's not that deep," Steven rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. A nervous habit.
"So... what is it?"
After a moment of hesitant eye contact, Steven stepped forward and pressed his lips to yours gently. It was lighter than the kisses from the night before. Now, it was sweeter, gentler. Less desperate.
You were confused, but pleasantly surprised! You let all your weight rest on the fridge for support when you felt your knees grow weak. Getting carried away, your hands drifted up Steven's sides, slowly pulling him closer.
The moment was short lived, however. As quickly as the kiss had started, Steven moved away from your lips and looked into your eyes intently. He was still so close.
"Feel better?" He murmured.
Wait, what.
You did feel better! You had almost forgotten about Steven's healing spit, but you thought back to that day he healed the burn on your hand. You smiled. Clever boy.
"Yeah," you muttered coyly, still floating on the high of that kiss.
"Heh, good." Steven smiled and stepped back, leaving you feeling suddenly exposed.
"Wait-" you spoke without thinking, "actually, I uh..." you over-dramatically swayed and pretended to feel dizzy, "I'm feeling a little light-headed..." you put your hand to your head and glanced at Steven, who wasn't buying your act.
"Oh, is that so?" He moved towards you slowly.
"Uh... yes!" You fanned yourself and took loud, deep breaths. "More healing kisses, or I may faint!" You played up the drama, knowing fully well that he could see right through you.

"Yeah, I bet," Steven replied sarcastically. Nevertheless, he leaned in close once more, bringing his hand up to your cheek and gently pulling you closer. You closed your eyes and felt warmth grow in your stomach. Them butterflies were going crazy.
You leaned in slowly, so slowly. You felt a rush of excitement and allowed it to grow in your chest as you anticipated another kiss with your dream guy.
"Later."
"Hm?" You opened your eyes to see Steven's face impossibly close to your own.
"We've got things to do," he smiled. You could feel his breath on your lips.
So that's how it's gonna be?
"Like what?" You bumped your forehead against Steven's playfully.
"Like..." Steven suddenly turned and left.
Uh... what?
You assumed that meant you were supposed to follow him. You stepped out into your front yard to see Steven standing proudly in front of Greg's van- which now had a large, haphazardly written, cardboard sign duct-taped over the "Mr Universe" painted underneath.
"Our 'Beach City Goodbye Tour!'" Steven read the sign aloud. You laughed out of shock and excitement.
"We're actually going through with it?" You grinned and started towards him.
"Yeah, why not?" Steven smiled proudly.
You giggled breathlessly and stared at this boy in wonder. Him, and his borrowed van, and the silly sign he made... and him.
"Can I have my kiss now?" You asked, putting one hand on your hip.
"Hm..." Steven pretended to think about it, stroking his chin with his thumb and index finger. But the moment you rolled your eyes, he took the opportunity and quickly pulled you by the waist into a head-spinning, world-altering, fucking incredible kiss.
He dipped you and everything.
