《Blue Road》Episode 21 (Part 2)

The three of them headed to the elevator and headed down to the lowest floor. The doors opened as the group walked over to the door at the far end of the hallway. Nobody could reach them here at the basement level.
Mindy and Richard recognized this as the place where they did their job interview with Charlie as they entered the area with caution.
Richard took his ex-boss’s seat, while Lily sat in the opposite chair, and Mindy waited on the sideline. He took out the blue container and placed it on the table. He explained to Mindy that Lily had given him the capsule and knew about the contents inside.
“Even though you didn’t want her to watch the video, she still wanted to see it, if it meant getting closer to stopping the bad guys.” Richard started.
Mindy’s eyes widened and drooped as she glanced at Lily. “You were concerned about me?”
Lily looked away and gripped her arms, but said nothing. How was she supposed to respond, if at all?
Richard cleared his throat and began the questioning. “So, what was your reason for stealing this?” He pointed at the object on the table.
“Simple, to get back at my competition,” Lily replied.
“What do you mean by that?”
“There’s more to that boss than he lets on.”
“Besides the fact that he worked for the Mayor?”
“Say what?”
“So, that’s not it?”
Lily shook her head. “Well, he also worked in something called Project Blue. Have you ever heard of it?”
Richard and Mindy raised their eyebrows at the statement and shook their heads. “Can’t say we have.”
“I don’t remember her name, but she and the boss worked for this group that created this project that ended up being top secret.” Lily continued.

Richard and Mindy pondered about what it could all mean. Project Blue, Charlie working with a female, Claudia was his assistant at work, but if the project called blue involved Usukui Puru, then... That was when they put two and two together. “Carlos and the scientists!”
Mindy walked over, picked up the capsule, and scrutinized it. “From what I can remember, these can store information, data, and other things like videos to playback, correct?” She inquired.
“That’s right,” Lily confirmed, nodding. “They can also lock them to make sure it doesn’t get into the wrong hands.”
Richard couldn’t believe what he heard. So that’s why…
“As soon as I found out about the other group’s true intentions,” Lily continued. “I quit the business and stole this container.”
Richard gasped and got up from his seat. “You mean you used to work for those guys?”
“Charlie and Claudia are triple agents, then?” Mindy massaged her temples again and sighed. This was getting more confusing by the hour.
Richard glanced over at Mindy. “You worked for Charlie, but never questioned—”
“You’re not supposed to question the boss!” Mindy thundered. She turned to face her sister. “Lily, do you have any idea why these capsules play random videos that seem to have tie-ins to—?”
“Maybe? Would you believe me if I told you?” Lily shrugged. “Someone leaked the videos. I don’t know who did it, but the scientists found out and didn’t take it kindly.” She explained, turning to face the wall. “They tried to dispose of the evidence before any of them went to the public.”
Richard paused, processing the information before talking again. “But that one we have appeared to be corrupted, almost like someone was aware we’d steal these capsules and try to halt our progress.”
“So, you mean they could’ve done it on purpose?” Mindy questioned. “I don’t understand any of this.”
