《How I Became A Jarl》Eaten By Fire pt. 1

I knew I woke up and left the place where Loki was but the darkness was still there. No. I was blindfolded and tied up to something. I was most likely on the ship because I could hear waves and whatever I was on it was wobbling. Probably a ship. Someone was walking because I could hear the wood creaking under their feet. There were a few people but no one talked. If those are the cultists they probably talk in sign language like in the temple.
Where are they going? And why did they take me with them? Maybe they are going to sell me as a slave. Tae was one for a bit if I remember. I’m still not sure what their goal is… but there still is the possibility that they’ll kill me!
Also… Where is Tae? Is he on the ship? Or did they kill him… No. He acts like someone weak but he did kill a few people and he is strong if he puts his mind to it. If he is alive then how did Landrir get here?
After a few minutes of clean weather, it began to rain and the waves were getting stronger. It was a strong rain that almost felt like a shower. From time to time, the ship was tilted by waves so much that my hand started to hurt because of me almost rolling around.
I felt something wet but warm. It was touching my hand around and then it touched me and moved across my hands. It was doing something with the rope but I couldn’t see anything. I wanted to shout something but when I opened my mouth someone grabbed it.
[ Tae ]
“It’s me. Don’t shout.” He whispered. I slightly nodded and he took his hand away.

[ Eric ]
“I was just thinking about what happened to you.”
[ Tae ]
“I saw that guy you didn’t want to kill so I hid to not show my face.”
[ Eric ]
“Unfortunately this friend smacked me in the head…”
Tae took off my blindfold and I could see a big ship with few people on the deck. It was almost a night. I was tied in the back of the ship with no one guarding me. Am I really nothing dangerous to them?
[ Eric ]
“How long was I out here? I’m kinda hungry…”
[ Tae ]
“For a whole day.”
[ Eric ]
“Huh… Well, he did hit me very hard… You know where are we going?”
[ Tae ]
“We passed one island that I recognized. Looks like we are going toward Dalir village.”
[ Eric ]
“What those scums want from this place…”
My hands were finally free. I wanted to thank Tae for that but then someone jumped on me and started licking my face.
[ Skyge ]
“Master! Are you okay?!”
[ Eric ]
“I’m fine. I’m fine. Did they hurt you?” I said as I pat Skyge to calm him down. He is still a child and very emotional at that.
[ Skyge ]
“No. I hid in your shadow.”
[ Eric ]
“Good. Now… What do we do…”
As I was talking with Tae I barely heard someone walking up the stairs to us. Tae hid himself as fast as possible by getting into a box. Skyge jumped into my shadow and I blindfolded myself again and imitated being tied to the pole.
[ Cultist ]
“The time has come. I’m taking you to three apostles of the moon.” Said the man as he approached me from the back.

Before he could even check the rope I stood up and tried to choke him with my hands. To my luck, this cultist wasn’t strong at all and there was no one else with him. Probably because we killed a lot of her followers. The man finally lost consciousness.
[ Eric ]
“Come out. I have an idea.”
[ Tae ]
“How are you going to use me this time?”
[ Eric ]
“How good is your acting?” I asked as I took the robes of the cultist.
[ Tae ]
“If I’m not the bait in your plan then I’m in.”
[ Eric ]
“It’ll be enough if you just take me to that three apostles and then fight them.”
We threw that cultist into the box. He only had a knife on him so I took it since I didn’t have any other weapon on me. The robe was big enough for Tae to wear and partially hid his face. When I looked on the deck to see if there are those three guys but I couldn’t see much because of the rain.
[ Eric ]
“I can’t see shit out there!”
[ Tae ]
“I think I know where they are. Three men were going toward the front of the ship. It might be them.”
[ Eric ]
“Did you see their faces?”
[ Tae ]
“No… oh! One of them had bandages on his hands.”
[ Eric ]
“Then that must be them… They are from earth too.”
[ Tae ]
“Really? It might be a hard fight if they have better spells than us.”
[ Eric ]
“I won’t give them a chance to do that.”

An Unwilling Monster
In the city of Kholakel, the highlight of the year for the upper classes is the annual monster pacification of the misty woods. Ostensibly it's a culling of the monster population to prevent them encroaching on urban areas, but it's an open secret that it's actually treated as more of a blood sport, the participants competing to score the most kills. After all, why else would the politicians and elites of the city bother to attend personally? Given the intense competition and high-tech weapons and gear in use, one might wonder how the forest has not yet been completely depopulated. As this year's culling approaches, a group of unfortunate children are about to discover the answer first-hand, but thanks to an unexpected twist of fate, one of them will score the chance to play the role of the hunter instead of the prey. This was an attempt at writing something darker than my usual fare. The story I actually ended up with isn't as mean to the MC as I'd originally planned out, to the point that I'm not sure the story deserves the horror/grimdark tags anymore, but this is still an unfair world with unambiguously evil antagonists. Chapters are short to start with, but get longer once the first act is over.

Rise of a Scarlet Devil (Regular+Draft Version)
A young girl slain during a war was brought back to life by some unknown force millennia later. She could only remember a vague face within her memories, uncertain as to who it was but there was one thing she did know. She needed to kill that person. But she was too weak, she needed to hide, to grow. She needed to flee from the battlefield her enemy reigns over. And to do so, she needed to run eastward, towards Helios, a safe haven for those who have lost their homes in the war. And where she would grow to become the strongest Hunter under her own strength. What was it that brought her back? Only time will tell. #Author's Note The novel is organized like this:Regular Chapters (Act, Title, Part (ranging from 1 to 9))Draft Chapter DisclaimerDraft Chapters (Entry Number, Perspective, Title, Part (ranging from i to ii)) Regular chapters are edited chapters that reflect the story aspect more while Draft chapters reflect plot progression more. An occasional interactive chapter will appear in the drafts but nowhere in the regular chapters. Expect changes when reading between Regular and Draft chapters as some events in the story may change in length or entirely removed/changed. Only read the draft version if you want a future view and/or opinion on the story and design elements. The main character is a human from a fantasy world reincarnated as a devil. The story possesses Reincarnators, Transmigrators, and Summoned Persons. though mainly focusing on Magic and other abilities such as Aura and Skills. Wizards (those who prepare arcane spells) and Mages (those who use elemental magic) are separate but seen as the same by common inhabitants of the world but clearly defined as different by more influential persons and by the circles themselves. The main character WILL not be a Mage or Wizard but will incorporate mana into her attacks to aid her as does any high-rank combatants. The system in the novel quantifies a person's abilities and keeps record of them but does not define natural ability, occasionally granting special abilities as skills to a person once prerequisites are met. There is no leveling system and no occupational systems in the novel featuring only a stat based and skill based system. Also, this novel is my first and will most likely be trash.
