《World Of Swords》208 : Fellow Daoists

Staring in the direction of the enourmous wave of power, which had just disappeared, Xu Lanfeng breathed a sigh of relief, but as time passed, a small frown couldn't help but appear on her face as she stared in the distance.
At this moment, a little boy suddenly appeared in front of Xu Lanfeng and the Elemental Daoist, and before the two could react, stretched out his hand toward a small ball of light.
'It will take a while for her to regenerate,' thought the little boy as he stared at the little ball of light, or rather more specifically, the thing hidden inside of the ball.
Suddenly, the little boy, alongside the ball of light in his hands, began phasing in and out of existence, before disappearing a moment later.
A moment later, two figures suddenly appeared where the little boy had just stood, although Xu Lanfeng and the Elemental Daoist acted as fast as they could, it seemed as though even that was not enough, as the little boy managed to escape.
Seeing this, Xu Lanfeng suddenly stopped, beginning to fly in the opposite direction, towards a certain fight that was taking place at this moment.
But sadly, by this point, the other fight had also ended, as the attacker finally retreated.
In fact, when talking about this other fight, retreated was not the best word to describe what had happened.
At this moment, a Daoist Priest stood cross-legged in front of a bloodied old monk.
Although the fleshly injuries that the old monk had suffered were not of much concern, as she looked at him, some apprehension could be seen on Xu Lanfeng's face.
"It looks like your fight did not go in the best way possible," said Xu Lanfeng as she walked up to the old monk, trying to see through his injuries.

"Senior Xu, I'm fine, compared to the injury of the Three Thousand Regions, nothing much happened to me," said the old monk as he suddenly coughed out a mouthful of blood, causing his complexion to improve.
Hearing the words of the old monk, a rather grim expression appeared on Xu Lanfeng's face as she sent out her spiritual sense.
Unlike what one might expect, the greatest amount of damage was not caused by the destruction of the Snow Region, but rather by the enormous waves of bugs that had swept through the world.
Although some waves courted death, landing in the hands of powerful cultivators and being destroyed, most of them wreaked havoc, devouring everything in its path.
Because of this, at this moment, over ten percent of the land of the Three Thousands of Regions was completely dead, with everything enhabiting it having been completely killed.
Suddenly, all four cultivators raised their heads, staring up at the sky, at the humongous water drop floating mid-air.
A moment later, it seemed as though the world itself had been shocked, as earthquakes swept the three thousand regions at that very moment.
...
Right at this moment, the huge water drop in the sky, or rather, the Primordial Water Drop, was staring at a certain thing in the sky.
Staring at the incomprehensible eye, which was now wrapped in chains, a frown appeared on the face of an old woman, the Primordial Water Drop.
"This seal is really quite troublesome," mumbled the old woman as he stared at the chains in front of her.
At this moment, the old woman began staring at the Chained Heavenly Dao, not taking her attention off it for a moment.
"You young people should go fight, this old lady can't help with much anymore," said the old woman as she turned her head towards the four cultivators, who were flying towards her.

Hearing the words of the old woman, which was clearly trying to shrink from her responsibility, Xu Lanfeng took in a deep breath.
'Fellow Daoists, it's better if we do not for force this old woman, otherwise my father's favour will no longer be able to help us make her take action,' thought Xu Lanfeng, talking to the other three cultivators using her spiritual sense.
'If we annoy this old woman, she might even leave the Three Thousand Regions behind and leave altogether, let's leave her here to try her best to unseal the Heavenly Dao' thought Xu Lanfeng as she stared at the old woman, who was staring at the at chained Heavenly Dao.
Hearing Xu Lanfeng's words, frows appeared on the faces of the three other powerful cultivators.
"Very well Fellow Daoist Elemental, Fellow Daoist Xu, Reverend, I won't bother you any longer," said Shen Xi as he looked at the three cultivators for a moment before suddenly disappearing.
"Since fellow Daoist Shen is also retreating, I will no longer disturb fellow Daoists," said the Elemental Daoist, before suddenly disappearing, leaving Xu Lanfeng and the old monk from Hangming temple behind.
"Reverend, make sure to recover well, we need your combat power to be available as soon as possible," said Xu Lanfeng as she took another look at the wounds of the old monk.
"Thank you senior Xu, but you do not have to be worried, you can rest assured, the next time my power is needed I will be here to help," said the old monk as he looked at Xu Lanfeng with a weird expression on his face.
"Very good, then I won't disturb the reverend any longer," mumbled Xu Lanfeng as she stared at the monk with a smile on her face for a few moments before disappearing, leaving the old monk to stand behind alone.
After silently floating in mid-air alone, the old monk then disappeared.
...
"It looks like still kept the conviction you had back there little Feng" mumbled Xu Lanfeng as she stared behind her with a slightly satisfied expression on her face.
After all, although Fang Zhen had already become a monk of the Hangming temple, he was still a creature of the three thousand regions, one Xu Lanfeng would protect.

A Universe of Bloody Evolution
The Void was never meant to be opened to the Multiverse. The horrors waiting inside it should have never seen the light. And yet, the biggest mistake in the history of creation led to the impossible. In an event later known as the Outbreak, gates appeared in the first Universe, and with them, the Void was free. For ages the Void destroyed universe after universe, spreading its power in every direction, leaving only death and pain behind. But before every Universe met its end, it still had a chance. A small part of the population that survived the initial Outbreak and was granted a mysterious System to help them fight against the dangers that came from the Void. They were the Multiverse's last hope even if they couldn't stop the collapse of their own world. And so the cycle continued until the 36th Outbreak came. Leo Hale, a young reporter from Wolford, was one of the lucky ones to survive when the majority of Earth's population turned into monsters straight out of nightmares. Thrust into a constant battle for his life, Leo was determined to push forward and find his remaining family. Even if it meant sacrificing what was left of his humanity. After all, you either adapt or die. Story of progression and evolution with my take at the post-apocalyptic genre. Unlike most monster evolution stories where the monster rushes to gain human form, here I plan to do something quite the opposite. After all, in a world where almost everything wants to kill you, being human can be hard. Warnings are here to give me the freedom to write whatever is necessary. This is my first original novel. Also English isn't my native language so any feedback is welcome. Remember that even if initially this story takes place on Earth, fictional places, streets, etc will appear. Release Schedule: Monday - Wednesday - Friday Average chapter length: 2000-2500 words (There might be exceptions as is the case with some of the first chapters - most of them are longer.)
