《World Of Swords》206 : High-level

Hearing Earth's words, the mouth of the First couldn't help but twitch.
At the same time, both Heaven and Man couldn't help but begin laughing.
"Yea, that's right, you shouldn't worry so much," said Man as he looked at the First, before waving his hand a moment later, causing another chair to appear under the large tree.
Hearing that, the First couldn't help but let out a sigh, shaking her head as she sat down on the chair.
"You know, it would have been much better if you could have given me some other information about what had happened," said the First as a jug of wine also appeared in her hands.
Hearing the words of the First, Heaven couldn't help but shake his head.
"You really are the same as back then, so impatient," said Heaven as he took another gulp of wine.
...
For an unknown number of years, the Second waited for the return of First's incarnation, as the latter's true body once again sunk itself in cultivation, as such, the second simply stared into the void to pass the time, looking at the past, present, and future of this timeline.
Of course, as this was not her main body, being only a clone with Dao Saint level cultivation, the second could not fully see through the timeline, being able to merely see the fates of most living beings.
There were four living beings which the second could not see the fate of, the Grand Dao as well as three Immortals.
More specifically, three Rank 8 True Immortals, which were only one step away from reaching the same level as the Second, Rank 9.
But although this was only 1 step, calling it nearly impossible would be an understatement.
For someone to be able to understand how difficult this was, one needs to understand the differences in talent that can exist between True Immortals.

Compared to the differences in mortals, these are much crueler and so much more soul-crushing.
What one Immortal might achieve in a decade, might stump the other for an immeasurable amount of years.
Sometimes, newly ascended True Immortals reached Rank 4 just after ascending, while others spent quadrillions of years toiling away at rank 3.
Just to achieving rank 7 is a near-impossible feat, not even mentioning rank 8, in which the cultivator has to become equal to the Grand Dao itself.
This is so difficult to achieve in fact, that right now, Xu Yue's timeline has no Rank 8 True Immortals, with the most powerful ones being Rank 7.
Of course, if this was caused by a natural reason, or whether the Grand Dao stopped these immortals from reaching rank 8 is something to be seen.
Suddenly, a small dot of white light appeared in a corner of the timeline.
The moment the white dot appeared, a nearly infinite sea of stars suddenly transformed into a human figure, the main body of the First.
Seeing this, the Second opened her eyes, staring at the figure which had just formed in front of her.
"Did you obtain any useful information?" asked the Second, as she looked at the first.
"No, it looks like those old fogies don't want to say anything this time, but they definitely know something we don't, they couldn't hide that from me," said the First as she looked at the second with a powerless look on her featureless face.
"You don't think your friends are involved, do you? After all, how would they know what was happening, the timeline was just sealed," said the Second, feeling somewhat suspicious.
Hearing that, the First shook her head.
"Don't worry, I know those guys very well, they don't like involving themselves in things, preferring to stay in their own timeline," said the First as she looked at the second.

...
As the First and the Second were talking, in another timeline, one completely hidden and separated from normal existence, another meeting was taking place.
"It looks like that event has begun," said Heaven as he looked at Man from the corner of his eyes, prompting the latter to slightly frown.
"You know very well that was not fully my fault, trying to blame me is meaningless," said Man as he let out a snort.
At the same time, both of them ignored Earth, knowing that the latter did not like involving himself in their arguments.
But this time, it seemed as though the arguments between Heaven and Man annoyed Earth somewhat, causing him to suddenly open his mouth.
"Since you two like to argue so much, why don't you stay like this then?" asked Earth as he took another gulp of wine.
The moment Earth spoke, both Heaven and Man became silent, being somewhat embarrassed.
"You both know very well that a new era is coming, you know very well that none of us can stop it, but since you two are so angry, I welcome you to try," said Earth, causing Heaven and Man to continue their silence.
"You should be thankful we still have some leeway, otherwise we might have had to shut ourselves in until then," continued Earth, seemingly venting all of his frustration from the countless years the three of them were together.
"In the end, we achieved our goal, even if not exactly how we originally planned it, isn't that alright?" asked Man, looking at Heaven with a troubled look on his face.
Hearing that, both Heaven and Earth couldn't help but nod, knowing that how they are right now is much preferred to their previous state.
...
At this moment, whilst these nearly all-powerful beings were talking, two different wars, of very different power scales were beginning.
Right now, dozens of hooded figures gathered in a certain corner of the upper realm.
"As expected, the war here has quickly reached a stalemate, sending troops to the lower dimension is a good idea to break the balance," said one of the hooded figures, causing the others to nod, except for one.
"Yes, having the lord himself intervene here would be too shameful," said another hooded figure before disappearing.
"Good, then we shall send another two apostles to the lower dimension, so as to quickly tip the scales in our favour," said another one of the hooded figures.
