Clyranth looked at a specific point within her awareness with interest. Another blue woman stood next to her. The woman spoke.

“It’s over. That kid will never be able to defeat Typhon. I admit that his creating another Supreme Technique surprised me, but that is all. We don’t even have anyone with so few Supreme Techniques.”

Clyranth was faceless, but the air surrounding her showed traces of mirth.

“No, he will succeed. I guarantee it.”

The blue woman looked at her wordlessly. She spoke after a while.

“…What the hell did he show you for you to have such a strong belief?”

“Something you would never be able to comprehend. This isn’t an insult. I would never be able to comprehend it either.”

“You know the movement to eliminate him has been predominant. Most of our kind wants him to be disposed of before he becomes a problem.”

“I know.”

“Then why do you object to it?”

“Because he’s capable of achieving something that nobody else is.”

The woman shook her head.

“It doesn’t matter. Our species’ survival is the most important thing. It was hard enough for people to tolerate that we weren’t going to win the Convergence and end this hell hundreds of thousands of years ago.”

It was Clyranth’s turn to shake her head.

“We can’t end this. Winning the Convergence would mean annihilating every other species. Who’s to say we won’t have to fight for survival against other Abnormal Species once we’re out of here? Nothing will change. He’s the only one who can change anything. I’m willing to sacrifice myself and our entire species for the sake of his dream.”

The woman stumbled backwards.

“You! You can’t-”

“I can and I will. We will not kill Liam Allister, and if it is our fate to be killed by him, so be it.”

Clyranth’s voice was firm.

“You might sacrifice yourself, but how do you expect the others to kill themselves as well?! They will fight to survive! Liam Allister isn’t able to defeat even a single member of our species!”

Clyranth shrugged.

“He will become powerful enough eventually. But,” She zeroed in on Zancorix, “You might be right. Maybe we shouldn’t go down without taking anything.”

The woman contained her trembling and looked towards Zancorix as well. She shone with surprise.

“…What do you mean?”

“It is possible that he will need… A reminder. Something to push him forward. If we’re going to sacrifice our entire species and concede the Convergence’s win, we must make sure that he will try his best to fulfill his promise and dream.”

The mightiest Empress in the Convergence nodded to herself.

“When the time comes, we shall see what to do. However, eradicating humanity is a possibility.”

Clyranth was one of the most peaceful beings in the Convergence, but that wasn’t worth much when every surviving species had annihilated many others. She was willing to give up herself and her species, as well as any number of other living beings, to Liam. It was for the possibility that he could end all of the Convergences and resurrect all of those who had been killed. She knew that if she annihilated humanity, she wouldn’t be resurrected if Liam succeeded. However, she was fine with that. If she was the necessary sacrifice, she didn’t mind.

If humanity’s loss is what is needed to push him forward, even if oblivion consumes me forever, I will do it. I will save all of creation.

It was out of love. From a human standpoint, it was sick and twisted. Clyranth didn’t care. She knew that deep down, she only wanted the good of all living creatures. She was only willing to make the necessary sacrifices for that to happen.

Luweth tapped his finger on his knee as he floated in the void with his legs crossed. He narrowed his eyes as he came to a conclusion. He stopped tapping his finger.

Salazar knows something.

The man hadn’t said or done anything out of the ordinary. That was the problem. Even though Luweth kept defeating his plans time after time, the man kept trying. It was obviously noticeable. Salazar was doing so in spite of the fact that Luweth would notice.

The only reason for him to do that is if he knows something that only we should know.

Luweth had a good idea of what it was. Salazar had gotten to this conclusion by himself, but that no longer mattered at this point. It was a big problem. If Salazar had an idea of what Liam’s fate was going to be, he would think that humanity would be his for the taking eventually. That logic only ignored a big problem.

There’s no way Salazar forgot I exist.

Luweth didn’t have a timer. So long as he didn’t fight anyone stronger than himself, he should be able to live for hundreds of thousands of years at least. He had already invested in and decided to protect humanity. It didn’t matter if it was an attempt to make up for the failure to save his own species. What mattered was that he had decided to help all humans.

It meant that he was willing to kill Salazar if the need arose. Salazar didn’t have to worry solely about Liam; Luweth was an equally important enemy. However, the man clearly knew how valuable he was. Luweth frowned.

If I kill Salazar, humanity’s overall power will decrease by too much.

A bit less than half of humanity was influenced by Salazar’s Personal Attribute and received a considerable boost in power. Both Liam’s and Luweth’s end goal was to make humanity able to stand on its own in the Convergence and eventually win before Liam died. Reducing the species’ power would be counterproductive. At the same time, killing Salazar was the same as removing a tumor that threatened to take over humanity as a whole. When Salazar managed to get a complete grasp on humanity, the weak would start to be culled. It was a scenario that could not be allowed to happen. Luweth wasn’t too sure of what he should do, in spite of his experience. There was also the matter of whether Liam would agree to whatever action he took.

For now, I’ll continue to observe while limiting the growth of his influence.

It was the same as what he had been doing for a while now, but it still felt like the best course of action, at least for the moment. He would only act once Liam came back. Luweth rested his head on his hand. Apart from Salazar, humanity had been developing well. He ministered classes on various subjects regularly, which in addition to the knowledge of the Drakkhan, were pushing society forward at an accelerated pace. The key figures of the species grew even faster, including the elected representatives. Of course, the most outstanding of all continued to be those belonging to Liam’s inner circle. They had stood out from the Tutorial, so it didn’t come as a surprise.

The ones with mythological Personal Attributes are becoming more powerful at a nonsensical rate. Even if they didn’t do much in the Tutorial, the vast majority of them are already as powerful as the elected representatives. Also…

There were the Godkings and central mythological figures. Zeus, Odin, The Jade Emperor, Izanagi and Izanami, Sun Wukong, and more. Not all of them had been found by Liam’s circle, but both Luweth and Liam naturally knew who they were. They didn’t expose them out of the desire not to harbor any ill will. The most powerful figures with those Attributes had already surpassed Alexander in power.

Based on what I know, there is no one who matches the biblical God.

It was unfortunate. Such a figure would be extremely helpful to humanity, but there was no use in thinking about this. If there wasn’t anyone, there was nothing that could be done.

Out of all of the Attributes, Luweth paid the most attention to those related to Buddhism. Even though Liam’s inner circle thought about finding Buddha, there was no indication so far that the Personal Attribute even existed. However, there were a few figures within humanity whose Attributes were related to Buddhism. The reason Luweth treated them differently was simple.

Maybe they can help Liam.

The attainment of Nirvana through enlightenment and the experience of countless lifetimes. It was similar to the process of continuous ascendancy that Liam was going through. This was without mentioning the various philosophies inherent to the religion. Luweth had a strong feeling that they could be helpful. Luweth already had a person in mind. Now, all that was left to do was to wait for Liam to come back.

Please be safe, my friend.

Luweth had no idea what Liam was doing, as the man hadn’t used the mark to communicate in a while. He only knew that Liam was targeting the Elean Empire in spite of the power difference. If he succeeded, he would turn his gaze to the Navalon Autarchy. Luweth clenched his fists. He felt powerless. He was furious that he couldn’t participate in his own vengeance because he was too weak. Despite thousands of years of training, he only had two Supreme Techniques, which was already a lot considering the time he had spent to acquire them. It only paled in comparison to Liam and Clyranth. Luweth sighed.

Let it go. I can’t do what I can’t do. Liam's success is good enough. We don’t have enough time to indulge me.

Luweth looked in the direction of the Elean territory. He had already memorized where it was long ago.

He could only hope that Liam was doing well.
