《Skulls and Crossbones: A Furry Pirate Litrpg》Book Three: Chapter 9

Lucy and her band of pirates had finally arrived at the Zootec hidden city. They were all in awe of the ancient architecture that surrounded them. The yellow stone pyramid buildings with green moss on them, the small dome-shaped huts, reptile statues, and grass-coated cobblestone streets all created a breathtaking sight. The city was situated in a valley below the mountain, and it glimmered beneath the sun, high above it.
"Incredible! I have never seen an ancient city like that before!" Lucy exclaimed.
"It is," Loretta agreed, looking around in wonder.
Lucy received a notification in her vision, revealing that they had discovered the Zootec hidden city. She learned that the city was built by the reptilian tribe who had lived on the island for a thousand years, worshiping their thunder god, Raigon. They were invaded by Daddy Jones and his pirates, leaving behind only their treasure and hidden ruins.
"So the puzzle is down there?" Lucy asked Loretta.
"Yup, let me show you." Loretta climbed down the cliff, and the others followed her.
They entered the ruined city, and Loretta led them across the cobblestone streets. Lucy marveled at the Zootec architect's incredible work.
After four blocks, Loretta stopped in front of a giant round stone door below a tall pyramid. The door had a series of rings and symbols, which Lucy couldn’t recognize. The Zootec glyphs looked like a new language to her.
"That is the puzzle," Loretta pointed. "The entrance to the dungeon."
Ivy examined the door. "Bloody hell, it's big!"
"Yeah, and I cannot get the damn thing to open," Loretta admitted.
"Yuh luk at oddah places tuh find anotha way in?" Tashina suggested.
Loretta shook her head. "I did, but there are no underground tunnels or chambers beneath this city. That doorway is the only way in."
Lucy sighed. "Can anyone recognize that thing?"
Charles looked at her. "You are a computer player. Your intelligent trait should allow you to solve any puzzle."
Lucy checked her status, revealing an intelligence rate of 4. "Ehhhhhhh, it's only at four," she explained.
The wolf was outraged. "Only 4!?"
Loretta was confused. "Is that bad?"
"Lucy cannot solve a puzzle with a low intelligence rate! Why didn't you spend your points on it?" Charles scolded.
Lucy shrugged. "I needed to keep my strength up to survive."
Byron spoke up. "I am sure we can still recognize the puzzle. It seems you must move the rings to form a pattern."

"Like a lock on a safe?" Ivy asked.
The panther nodded. "I don't know the symbols. If we can understand their meaning, we might discover what the secret password is."
Ivy raised her arms. "So, does anyone else know how to read ancient tongue twisters?"
The pirates fell silent.
"Maybe we should look around in the city," Lucy suggested. "They might have similar symbols on their architecture."
Loretta made a fart sound through her lips. "I looked already. Nothing else here matches the door. Even if we did, it will take all day to find the right symbols. By then, nightfall will be upon us."
Lucy looked at the city. The jackal woman could be right. It was almost as big as her old home and a maze of buildings, making it difficult to find the right symbols in time. How could they solve the puzzle without understanding the correct symbols to align?
Suddenly, Charles reached into his pocket and pulled out the golden compass. His eyes fixed upon it, entranced by its beauty. He remembered the symbols on its back. The symbols that matched those on the door.
"Byron, take a look at this," Charles said, holding out the compass for his friend to see.
Byron's eyes widened as he recognized the symbols. "Those are the ones on the door! We need to align them in a straight pattern!"
"But how are we supposed to do that?" asked Lucy, looking up at the towering door that loomed before them.
Ivy picked up a rock and tossed it at the door. One of the rings moved, the symbol now aligned in the center.
"I see!" exclaimed Byron. "We have to hit the symbols to make them move!"
Lucy nodded in agreement. "That's it! Everyone, start throwing rocks!"
The group scattered, frantically searching for rocks of the perfect size and weight. Charles, Ivy, Tashina, and Byron all grabbed as many rocks as they could carry, while Lucy picked up a single one and took aim.
She threw the rock, but missed the symbol by inches. Frustrated, she picked up another rock and tried again. And again. And again.
But with each miss, her determination only grew stronger. She couldn't let her friends down now. Not after everything they'd been through to get here.
She took another deep breath and let the rock fly from her hand. This time, it hit the correct symbol, and the door rattled in response.
"Good shot, Lucy!" cheered Tashina.

From there, the group fell into a rhythm. They took turns throwing rocks at the symbols, each person hitting their mark with increasing accuracy. The correct symbols slowly but surely aligned, until finally, with a great creak, the door began to open.
You discovered the Tomb of Gold A secret underground temple where the Zootec tribe hid all their treasures and wealth. Protected by booby traps, only the strong can venture inside to take or store their riches. After Daddy Jones invaded, he almost emptied the entire treasury until Raigon cursed. The god trapped his soul inside the tomb as the new guardian of the Zootec treasure. If you dare enter, you will provoke the pirate's wraith. But if you survive, the treasure is yours!
A rush of excitement washed over Lucy and her friends. They'd made it! They were finally going to get their answers.
As they stepped inside the dungeon, Lucy couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. This was it. The moment she'd been waiting for.
She had no idea what lay ahead, but she knew one thing for certain - nothing was going to stand in their way. Not now. Not ever.

Lucy stepped forward cautiously, her heart pounding with excitement and fear. She couldn't believe that they had finally made it to the entrance of the Tomb of Gold.
Loretta grabbed a torch from the wall and lit it. "We'll need some light," she said, holding the torch aloft.
The group followed Lucy into the passageway, the torch casting flickering shadows on the walls. As they descended deeper into the mountain, they could hear the distant sound of rushing water.
"Sounds like a river," Ivy said, her eyes scanning the dark passageway.
"Be careful," warned Loretta. "There could be traps."
Lucy nodded, keeping her eyes peeled for any signs of danger. The passageway seemed to stretch on forever, and she began to wonder if they would ever reach the end.
Suddenly, the passageway opened up into a large cavern, and the group gasped in awe. The cavern was filled with glittering gold and precious jewels, sparkling in the torchlight. It was a treasure trove beyond anything Lucy had ever imagined.
Ivy whistled. "Bloody hell, look at all this treasure!"
Tashina grinned. "Wi hit di jackpot!"
Byron looked around warily. "But where are the traps?"
As if in answer to his question, the ground beneath their feet began to shake, and a deafening roar filled the cavern. Suddenly, a giant boulder came hurtling towards them, threatening to crush them all.
"Run!" shouted Loretta, grabbing Lucy's hand and pulling her towards a narrow passageway on the other side of the cavern.
The group sprinted towards the passageway, dodging falling rocks and leaping over piles of treasure. Just as they reached the safety of the passageway, the boulder thundered past, missing them by inches.
Breathless and shaken, the group collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. Lucy looked around at the passageway, trying to figure out where it led.
"Where does this go?" she asked, pointing down the narrow passageway.
Loretta shrugged. "I don't know. But we've come this far, might as well find out."
With that, the group picked themselves up and started down the passageway. It was narrow and winding, and they had to squeeze past tight spaces and climb over rubble. But after what felt like hours, they emerged into a large chamber, filled with even more treasure than the first.
"Wow," breathed Charles, his eyes wide with wonder.
"Look at all this gold," said Ivy, reaching out to touch a glimmering pile.
Suddenly, the ground beneath their feet began to shake again, and they heard the sound of rushing water growing louder.
"Another trap!" shouted Tashina, grabbing Byron's arm.
The group ran towards a narrow tunnel on the other side of the chamber, their hearts pounding with fear. Just as they reached the tunnel, a wall of water came crashing towards them, threatening to sweep them all away.
They dove into the tunnel, their bodies battered by the force of the water. But somehow, they managed to cling to the sides of the tunnel and make their way through.
When they emerged on the other side, they were battered and bruised, but alive.
"That was too close," panted Loretta, her hair plastered to her face.
"But we made it," said Lucy, her voice filled with wonder.
The group looked around at the chamber, taking in the glittering treasure and the remnants of the ancient Zootec civilization.
But a chilling breeze blew through the chamber. Lucy shuddered as she heard the distant sound of chains rattling. Suddenly, a ghostly dog figure wearing a trenchcoat and a tricorn hat appeared before them.
