Special Ep: 2.39 - That time I was reincarnated into another world and had a Beach Episode
"The ocean!" I shouted, grippin' my hips proudly as I stared out at the sparkling sea! The sun! The surf! A bunch of seagulls holding up an elf at knifepoint! The sand! It was the ocean! It was still kind of odd seeing an ocean made out of water instead of garbage, but I'd seen enough anime and games to know that it was a common fantasy staple, like dragons or magic.
"Hiro-san... we've... nngh! been at the ocean the entire time." Bonbon replied, tugging on the picnic basket and ducking away from a swipe of a seagull's knife.
"The ocean!" Ciel shouted, standing next to me, one hand on her hip and one hand shielding her eyes.
"The ocean, wan!" Wanda echoed, her tail wagging rapidly.
"Bonbon, it's just something you have to say when you see the ocean," I explained. "Quit playing with the birds and come help us set up!"
I looked around the beach. We'd moved away from the village, on account of all the carnage and devastation being kind of a bummer, as well as it being pretty crowded. This beach...was perfect! The sand was clean with the occasional sea-shell placed around. I gave one the side-eye, but it wasn't glowing, and no action button prompt appeared when I walked over it, so it wasn't a rare collectible. I guess maybe this beach wasn't perfect perfect, just mostly perfect.
We weren't fully alone, but most of the other elves in the area were far enough away to just be suitable background characters rather than anything we'd actually have to deal with. Now, to find the perfect spot... I quickly learned [Beachcomber Basics - Lvl 1] using [Instantly Learn Skill] and activated the [Beach Radar] built into it as a special feature.
At once, a badass grid appeared over my vision, and all kinds of calculations trailed across the beach, until an outline appeared in the scientifically optimal spot for our beach blanket. I threw the folded blanket like a frisbee, activating [Homing Shot] to have it flip and unfold perfectly on target.
"I'll get the volleyball set up!" Ciel said happily, lugging the poles and net over to a flat stretch of beach. Bonbon arrived with the basket, but she looked kind of harried. I cocked my head to the side.

"Bonbon, what's wrong? The basket's not too heavy for your small, elf-like arms, is it?"
"No, I'm..." -she ducked under a swooping bird - "used to lifting heavy things in the kitchen, it's these... these birds!"
I looked up at the [Seagulls], who were swarming around her, knives taped to their feet. I sighed, in a resigned, but happy way. It was good to be dependable and counted on! I looked at the birds and activated a [Skill], causing them to stop bothering Bonbon and fly away immediately, to go bother somebody else.
The elf let out a sigh of relief, lowering her arms and standing up straight. She watched them fly away, then glanced over at me.
"Thank... you? I assume you had something to do with that, based on the fact that you struck a pose right before they left."
I nodded. "Yeah. I used my [Lust] skill, which lets me brainwash any living creature instantly. I made them ignore us and our stuff for the rest of the day," I explained.
Bonbon stared at me in silence, dropping the picnic basket in shock.
"Um. I'm sorry. What was that?"
"[Lust]," I replied, happy to get to repeat my explanation. "It lets me brainwash any living creature instantly. I need line of sight, but I can make them do whatever, so making them go away was really easy."
She lifted one hand to her face, trembling slightly.
"H-Hiro-san, you, uh... that... that [Skill]... have you, um, used it before?"
I cocked my head at her, confused. "No? Why?"
She let out a sigh, visibly relaxing. I wasn't really sure why, but it was probably just relief that the birds were gone.
"N-no reason. Never mind. Forget that I brought it up."
"Okay." I shrugged. She was probably just jealous of my cool skills. I wasn't sure why this one bothered her in particular though. [Lust] was probably one of my crappier skills. It didn't even deal any damage! It was basically useless in a fight.
"Volleyball's all set up!" Ciel shouted, spinning the ball on her finger. I gave her a thumbs up, which she returned.
"You can't play beach volleyball in regular clothes!" I informed my gathered harem. I looked around the beach for one of those tents or huts they set up to let you change into your bathing suit.
"I wonder where we can change into our suits..." I mused. I had [Instant Change(Outfit)], but changing in front of everyone... that was still kind of embarrassing, wasn't it?
"Heh..." Ciel replied, grinning a smile. "Hiro-kun, the secret to going to the beach... is that you gotta wear your swimsuit underneath your clothes!"
At that, she grabbed her breastplate and tugged it off over her head. I blushed and turned away, my face steaming.
"Wow, wan!" Wanda exclaimed. "As a professional undresser, that's some impressive technique. This is my first time seeing somebody take off armor like a T-shirt."
"Thanks!" Ciel replied, "You learn a few tricks as a [Paladin]."
"Professional undresser?" Bonbon murmured.
"Hiro-kun, why're you turning away? I told you I had my swimsuit on under my clothes, didn't I?"
I turned to peek through my fingers at her, and saw that she was telling the truth. She was wearing a two piece swimsuit, with a sports-bra looking top and a pair of shorts for bottoms. They were white with a purple trim, a small gold Kamiko logo adorning each piece. I blushed a bit as I looked at her. It had been a little hard to tell when she was wearing armor, but... Ciel had really big boobs, didn't she?
Maybe... maybe it'd be worth paying a bit more attention to her after all... I scrutinized her a little closer, rubbing my chin thoughtfully as I checked off the various charm points. Tomboy, short hair, nose bandage, muscles... I glanced at the strange patch of lighter skin around her neck and shoulders, as well as the paler complexion of her midriff. Tan lines, check! Big boobs. Nice hips. I nodded to myself. She wasn't perfect, but she was pretty dang good! 10/10.
"N-nice..." I said, giving her an awkward thumbs up. Next to her, Wanda was unlacing her pants. I started to turn away, but hesitated.
"Wanda, are you wearing your swimsuit underneath as well?" I asked.
"Yep, wan!" The doggirl confirmed, dropping her pants to reveal a set of swim trunks underneath. I let out a quiet sigh of relief, just as she lifted her shirt off, exposing her bare chest to the world.
"W-WANDA?!" I freaked out, covering my eyes. Thankfully, her hair had managed to cover anything important, but that was close! "You said you were wearing a swimsuit!"
"I am, wan," she replied, gesturing down to the swim trunks. "See? Swimsuit."
I shook my head rapidly. "T-that's... I mean... beach episodes are about fanservice, after all, but you're flying too close to the sun!"
She looked at me with a blank smile, simply wagging her tail as she exulted in her own partial nudity.
"Oh yeah?" she asked. She lifted one arm to indicate a male (probably) elf in swim trunks running down the beach. "How do you explain that, wan?"
A shock ran through me. D-damn it... I couldn't refute her argument! She'd trapped me with her facts and logic. I had no choice but to accept the fact that she was going to wander around the beach topless. But if I did that... not only would I be super awkward and embarrassed the whole time, but more importantly... other people would see her naked! I had to think of poor Wanda's modesty, especially when it helped ensure I had a monopoly on all of her sexy shenanigans. Still, what could I possibly do?! Unless...
"L-looks like I have to use that..." I said, out loud. I'd avoided it for as long as possible.... but it looks like I'd have to spend some of my hard-earned Gacha Coins. There was no other convenient choice! I quickly activated [DLC Costume Shop] and purchased a [Companion Costume] for Wanda, a cute two-piece swimsuit! It may not have been itsy-bitsy, teenie, weenie, or yellow, but this polka-dot bikini would have to do! I didn't have time to look for alternatives. And now...
"[Companion Costume: Polka Dot Two-Piece Bikini]!" I shouted, thrusting my hand unnecessarily out towards Wanda. With a flash, she entered an overly-elaborate magical girl outfit change sequence. When the lights, sparkles, ribbons, and flock of doves cleared, she was back at a socially-acceptable level of fanservice. I had soothed the savage breasts. I let out a sigh of relief as Wanda turned and examined her new beachwear.
"Hmm... well, I suppose this will work, wan."
Yes! We were back on track! Still... a beach episode, right? I had to make the most of it! I quickly used [Instant Change (Outfit)] to change into a plain T-shirt and swim trunks. There were a lot of things to cover in a beach episode! I looked over as Bonbon returned from the changing room. She'd changed into a green swimsuit that was elegant but also extremely moe. It had a sarong and everything!
Well, we definitely had 'cute girls' covered for our beach episode! The next, second-most important thing was being at the beach! I looked at the sand and water to confirm that was still the case. Nice! We're on a roll! As far as having fun at the beach, there were all kinds of things we could do: watermelon-splitting, beach volleyball, playing in the water, building a sandcastle, sunbathing (especially if one of them invited me to spread lotion or oil on their back), and then at night, we could do fireworks!
Yeah! I was getting hyped up! The first thing on the agenda... would probably be...
Wanda blurred past me, launching out into the sea.
Well... I guess swimming was fine.
"Bonbon-chan, hurry up and get in the water, wan!"
"I don't know how to swim. Y-you're not going to drag me into the deep part, are you?"
"Wan! Yep!"
"I... I don't know if-
"[Surprising Claws], wan!"
"W-wah! Wanda-san, let go of my-kyah!
*SPLASH*
"Hey, save some ocean for me!" Ciel shouted, running out into the water. I chuckled to myself and found a nice shady spot beneath a beach umbrella.
I... should probably join them at some point. But if I did, not only would I risk physical contact, but I would also miss out on a perfect opportunity to sit on the beach like a loner while watching everybody else have fun! That kind of beach episode staple was the perfect opportunity for a cute girl to approach me on her own and invite me to join in the fun! An instant, no-effort flag-raising event!
Still... I wonder which one of them would be the first to approach me? They were, uh... hmm. They all seemed pretty engaged in their fun. Wanda was splashing Bonbon, who was clinging to a float ring, while Ciel was paddling around them on a boogie board. I mean... I'm sure it was fine. Maybe I'd need to activate [Montage Mastery], but I'm sure that one of them would come reach out to me... eventually. All I had to do was-
"Fufufu... sitting alone on the beach, eh?" a female voice asked from behind me. My eyes widened in shock. Either one of my harem members had mastered the skill of Doppelganger-fu while I hadn't noticed, or... I turned and set my eyes on the young woman who had called out to me. It... it couldn't be! A random girl had decided to talk to me on her own?! She was standing in the shadow of a parasol, which must have been working overtime, since it was completely obscuring her features.
"I'm glad I got to talk to you alone," the woman said, stepping out of the shadows and coming closer. Glad? Talk? Alone? I gulped. Was this... really happening? A random girl who must have been admiring me from afar, coming to talk to me? This really was my lucky day! I blinked a bit as she approached. Huh... her appearance was... pretty unique.
She had white hair, tied up into a topknot, and a fair complexion. I noticed at once that she had one green eye and one blue eye, marking her immediately as an important character who probably had some kind of unique power. Her outfit definitely backed that up.
She was wearing a one-piece swimsuit, which kinda looked like those ones we had at my high school. She even had a name written across the front, although I couldn't read it since it was written in the bullshit Isekai world language. Besides that, though... everything else about her outfit screamed 'ninja'. She had a long red scarf that bunched up around her neck, before flowing out behind her. She had a belt wrapped around her midsection with a few pouches on it, and a few throwing stars tucked into straps. She was even wearing arm-guards!
"To think... that I would meet the [Legendary Hero], alone and unprotected. It must be my lucky day, fufufu..."
She... knew who I was? Was this... my next harem member? Already? She'd... what had she said again? She wanted to get me alone? I blushed. In a situation like this... there was only one thing that you could say!
"Y-you too..." I stammered, blushing.
As soon as I said the words, she froze in her tracks, her eyes searching me as if expecting me to suddenly lunge at her. Her hand slowly went up to her chin, and her brow furrowed in thought.
"You too?" she asked. I quickly activated [Cringe Invulnerability] before the embarrassment could overtake me. T-this girl! You weren't supposed to call attention to things like that!
"You too..." she repeated, flicking her gaze up to my eyes. "Heh... so you mean to say... you knew that I was coming before I even arrived."
I didn't say anything, because I had no idea what she was fucking talking about, but was desperate for an out.
"Which means... rather than trap you, I've moved exactly according to your plan. Hmm... As expected of the [Legendary Hero]." (TL Note: "as expected of" means sasuga)
She crossed her arms and nodded. "Hmph. Very well. Looks like it's my loss."
With that, she turned, and threw down a smokebomb, letting up a tiny puff of smoke. Once the smoke cleared, she was gone, already twenty feet down the beach and running quickly for the nearest cover.
"A real ninja?" I asked nobody in particular. "I wonder what that was about..."
"Hiro-kun!" Ciel shouted. "You ready to eat?"
I stood up and waved to my harem members, who had un-oceaned and were gathered around the picnic basket. That's right! I had more important things to worry about than some random, ominous encounter with a mysterious figure who spoke in cryptic phrases, and knew who I was!
I had beach fun to get back to!
