《The Adventures of Pupu, The Bubble Witch: Wake of the Bubble Witch》Kiss of the Moon

Standing over Cer with one hand outstretched in front of her with the hopes of stopping the onslaught of the gathering souls, Punkin holds her bubble wand with her other hand ready to swing. “I SAID STAHP! THAT’S MY DADDY!”
Swinging her wand with intensity at the Legion, Punkin releases several bubbles that grow in size as they travel through the air with great speed and force, colliding with the gathering auras causing them to disperse from their concentration. “I’m gonna get you!” Yells Punkin as she runs and jumps into the air swinging her wand towards the Legion.
Glaring helplessly with anguished defeat and surprise, Cer reaches out to Punkin but is unable to stop her. You can’t fight it alone…Can you see the auras and spirits or souls? You just dispersed the gathering; you are stronger than I realized.
Reattaching to Punkin’s back, wrists, and ankles in her mid-jump, Kylan lifts Punkin into the air, carried by a gust of wind cast by Kali. “RAWR! Bubble Bee… Bubble Sting!!” Yells Punkin as she swings her wand, launching bubbles at the Legion.
Laughing off any concern, the Legion swings its arms at the bubbles to deflect the attack. “Argh. How did you…Who are yo-ou?” yells the Legion as Punkin’s bubbles collide with the Legion’s outer spirit made-armor, damaging the bond between the Legion and its body of souls.
“GO AWAY YOU SCARY POOP MONSTER!” screams Punkin as she swings again, launching even bigger bubbles at the Legion.
“What?!?!” Gasps everyone in unison as the bubbles stop short from colliding with the Legion.
“HA! Just as I thought! Shriver tears!” laughs the Legion as it commands an army of living people from the local villages of Haeven and forms a wall with their living bodies, all seemingly in a rage filled daze. “You cannot hurt people, just like your father!”
Taking a deep breath, the Legion gathers energy and sucks in souls from the area and breathes angry spirits in their place to take over the people as the possessed villagers begin to launch towards Punkin to attack.
Just before any villagers can land an attack on Punkin, Neko appears out of a black mirror and ports herself and Punkin out of the air and back near Cer.
“What the hell did I come to?” asks Neko.
“WAR!!!” yells Punkin as she clenches her wand as tightly as she clenches her teeth, snarling and growling at the Legion.
“I guess I have no choice, Neko… Cherub, you know what to do. La Gateau and Akiraion, time to come out of hiding.” Commands Kala as she casts her mystical triangle, launching bubbles towards the souls being sucked in by the Legion. I am sorry Claira, this is all the bubbles I have left from the reserve stash.

Placing one hand over her heart, Arywn taps her temple with the finger of her free hand. Your family needs you. Do your best, that is all you have ever promised, and that is all anyone can ever ask of you.
Like a howling wind, a brash army of cloaks appear from all directions and fly towards the villagers, attaching themselves to the villagers and holding them in place while seemingly battling for possession of the villagers’ bodies.
“ME TOO!” screams Punkin as she jumps into the air, trying to catch a gust of wind but failing.
“Cherub!” yells Kali.
Cherub quickly yawns and casts a black mirror below Punkin, catching her and porting her high into the air.
“Bubble Bee Bubble Sting!” yells Punkin as she appears out of the mirror in the air; unphased by her unplanned porting, she swings her wand at the Legion with no obstructions in sight.
As she completes her swing, she rides a gust of wind and swings again, launching more bubbles while searching for another gust of wind to ride.
This time La Gateau jumps into the air and yawns, porting himself and Punkin into the air once again, this time behind the Legion.
Punkin launches bubbles and smacks them with her wand, causing them to launch with more velocity than before into the back of the Legion.
“Argh! You pest! I will squash you and drink your tears and blood!” yells the Legion as it swings an arm from the ground upward towards Punkin.
Jumping out of the flowers upended from the ground by the Legion’s swing, Akiraion lands on Punkin’s shoulder and yawns, causing a flower to vacuum Punkin and Akiraion into it, porting them to another airborne flower to the side of the Legion.
“We aren’t done yet!” Yells Runt as she grows 7 more tails and launches energy orbs from her tails into the Legion, distracting the Legion by weakening its armor. “Keep it up! I can see it’s getting weaker!”
For several minutes, Cherub, Neko, La Gateau, and Akiraion take turns catching and porting Punkin through the air between her gliding attacks and her attacks mid fall.
As La Gateau ports Punkin above the Legion, Punkin swings, and no bubbles appear, startling Punkin as she falls towards the Legion.
She is out! She needs more bubble potion for her wand! Cer, port to her with the vial! Shouts Arwyn in a panic, which stuns everyone telepathically.
“Ahhhh!”screams Punkin as she falls.
“Somebody catch her!” Yells Cer, as Cer tries to port but fails to even stand.
“I’m out!” yells La Gateau, Akiraion, and Neko in unison as they realize they each hit their limit.
“I can’t catch her with my attacks. It’ll kill her!” Yells Runt.
Looking up, the Legion opens its mouth and laughs as its toxic drool flows out to the ground below, killing any plants it touches. “Finally mine. Arrogance is what made me, you are arrogant. You belong with me!”

As Punkin sees the mouth open and is stunned by its stinky breath, she screams “Ahhh DADDY!!”
Like the quick release of a rubber band snapping, Punkin feels the whiplash of something grabbing her waist and pulling her down rapidly.
Giggling brightly with the sound of a bell ringing, a child-like figure appears bathed in light as it appears outside of a strange port standing on top of a cloud made of bubbles, just above the Legion’s open mouth. “I told you I’d come home”
Crying out of relief, Punkin wraps her arms around her savior, who now stands in the form of an adult woman. “You came home! It’s nasty and mean. It beat daddy up!” sobs Punkin as she disjointedly recounts the battle between the heaving.
“I let you two go home and you start a fight with a cluster of demons. I was gone for what… a dead man’s day?” Responds Miyas as she stares intently into Punkin’s eyes, listening to Punkin’s barely comprehensible story, while flicking her wrists, causing her ribbon wands to dance in the air, whipping and deflecting the Legions arms with ease. “Oh I brought you something from Madame Eve. I visited my sister like I told you I would.”
Crawling out from under Miyas cloak, a small creature nuzzles against Punkin’s face.
“Lizard!” screams Punkin.
Taking a closer look, Punkin screams with more excitement as the creature opens its mouth and releases a massive yawn of bubbles equivalent to Punkin and Kala’s bubbles combined towards the Legion. “It’s a baby dragon!”
“Kind of. It’s the last known bubble dragon, which isn’t really a dragon, but rather a dragon like naga.” Explains Miyas as they float back towards Cer.
“Oooh daddy nagas me to help with the farm. It’s boring! He will naga at Baba too.” chimes in Punkin as she skips next to Miyas while holding her hand as they touch ground, completely forgetting the near death experience with the Legion.
“It’s a naga. A sacred mystical spirit. Not a nag.” Chuckles Miyas in response.
Meanwhile, staring from a distance, everyone gawks with confusion as Punkin is brought back to them while watching Miyas’ ribbons ward off the Legions attacks while simultaneously tapping the villagers and releasing them from possession, allowing the summoned souls with cloaks to regather around Arwyn.
“Who is that?” asks Runt.
“That is Claira’s last pupil. The lost sister, Miyas. She disappeared and never returned to be initiated into Ursa Domus.” responds Kali.
“She is part of a new coven. She became much more powerful there than Ursa Domus would have made her. She is part of the elusive Siren’s Caw. Witch of the forsaken daemons. I believe she is a servant of the Air and Moon.” chimes in Arwyn as she straightens her glasses to scan Miyas up and down as they approach.
“What happened to you, silly boy!?!” snickers Miyas towards Cer as she transforms into her child-like form and blows raspberries at Cer.
Pulling out a stick of black lipstick and putting it on, Miyas sneers at Cer. “I just got this too from Eve and we are going to waste it on you! Anthophila Apiana is not an easy plant to come by. She had to grow this from your tears shed on her vessels after all.”
Turning back to an adult, Miyas leans over Cer and lectures him. “I first gave you a second chance by letting you back to the land of the living. Now I have to save you again. You have been poisoned by the Legion and the more you fight to live, the more it leeches your life force and gets stronger. You are the reason they can’t beat them. Let me cleanse you.”
Leaning in, Miyas kisses Cer on the cheek, forehead, then other cheek. “The first time I saved you was for Pupu. This second time is because you are ruining everyone elses’ day. There won’t be a third time I save you.”
Feeling instantly revitalized waking from a fully restful sleep, Cer stands up and exhales with relief. “Wow. That’s quite a spell. What did you do?”
Surprised with the result of her magic, Miyas scoffs. “Ha. I’m actually surprised it worked. It was meant to kill you! But since it is the magic of the moon, theoretically, it does the opposite of what you are. You were dying, so now you are living. If I kissed a living man, he would've died instantly…theoretically”
“You didn’t know if it’d work and you tried it anyway?!?!?!” responds Cer with a defeated and annoyed tone.
“Well you were dying anyway. It would have only sped it up if it didn’t work out. Either way, we need you to stop feeding the Legion.” responds Miyas nonchalantly as she brushes off Cer’s concerns and reverts back to her child-like self. “You gonna help out or you gonna keep relying on your daughter to be your redemption and savior?”
Brushing off Miyas’ comment while still annoyed, Cer looks at the Legion and then turns to Punkin and summons Claira’s vial out of Claira’s book. “You ready. Let’s change things up a bit. We are gonna play hide and seek with that bully.”
Smiling from ear to ear, Punkin responds with clapping. “Daddy, no more resting. I naga you now! Lazy butt-butt. Let’s play. Yes! Yes! Hide and Seek! Let’s go!”

AV Online was just a flash in the pan—a harsh, experimental land which lost most of its players in mere weeks. Only the dedicated few remained, carving out their destinies in corners of the vast abandoned world. Lily Quinn wasn't one of them. With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading! 8 213A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
