We arrive at school hours later, the car ride back is silent and boring. No one wants to talk about what happened. I doubt they want to talk at all. If they had just listened to me and just let me go with Damian alone, maybe today might have turned out differently.
The headmaster parks the car in front of the school building and talks for the first time since we've entered the car. "Nate, Jessica, Roman, go get some rest, we'll discuss your detention first thing Monday morning. Damien, Camille, my office Now!"
Oh great! At least I'll get the first scolding.
I open the door and get out. The rest follow after me and I lock gaze with Jessica, her expression is apologetic and I glare in return. She should feel sorry because I really didn't want them to come.
The headmaster heads into the building, forcing me to tear my gaze from her and go after the headmaster. The three of us walk in silence as we approach his office.
"How do you even know where we were?" I ask out of curiosity as soon as we step into his office.
"Roman told me. You didn't think I'd let four teenagers go on a road trip alone." He scoffs and glares at me. "What were you thinking? You could have been hurt, worse you could have been killed." Okay, I'm having a feeling that he isn't entirely cool with what I did.
"We are still alive, thanks to Roman and his big mouth." I give him a fake smile. I'm hungry and so exhausted, I barely slept last night because I was anxious to go on a trip with Damian.
The headmaster doesn't find it amusing. He slams his hands on his desk. "I'm serious. You don't just make decisions on your own and go joyriding with your friends."
"It was meant to be just Damian and I only," I try to explain, looking over to Damian for some kind of support. He is sitting quietly on the small sofa, looking calm as usual.
Headmaster Wallace sighs and turns to Damian. "And you? What were you thinking? You should know better than that. I told you to stay away from her–" I cut him off before he finishes the sentence.
What the hell?
"You can't just tell him to stay away from me when he is the only one willing to help me."
Who the hell does he think he is, telling Damian to stay away from me?
"Help you? Help you with what. You are fine, you don't need any help," he tells me.
I shake my head and raise my finger up. "Don't do that. Don't. Do. That. Stop pretending like everything’s okay, you know nothing is okay. My parents are out there somewhere, everyone else thinks I'm dead, and there are my new found powers, my tattoo and the sword, I can't even concentrate on my school work because I'm too busy figuring shit out myself–"

"What sword?" He interrupts me.
"Huh?" I play dumb because if I tell him about the sword, he'll know I went to the library.
He rounds his desk and stands in front of me. "What sword, Camille?"
"It's Cami." I say with a nervous laugh.
"Answer the question. What sword?"
"The Elsword." Damian answers.
The Headmaster and I turn our head to his direction. The headmaster looks pissed at his answer. "You took her to the mansion." He accuses.
"He didn't take me, I sort of portaled there."
He snaps his eyes to me. "What do you mean you portaled there?"
"This should be good." Damian murmurs and closes his eyes.
"Just know that I had no idea what I was doing," I pause when the headmaster cock his eyebrows, obviously not believing me. "Okay, I knew what I was doing. I was just taking a stroll around the library and saw the 'do not' cross sign, you could use little work with the decorations. Anyway, I pass the boundary spell and bang! the door appears from behind the romance shelf and I entered against my better judgement and bang again! I was there at your mansion."
"Against your better judgement, did you say? I know you, Cami, you and bad decision are in sync." He runs his hand through his hair. "It's true there's a portal behind that shelf in the library. I put it there and also the boundary spell. You can't walk pass it because I put it there because of you and as for the portal, there's a spell. How did you get the door to appear?"
"Well the boundary spell broke and sealed after I step inside. I saw the spell in a romance novel by Sebastian Holmes. Our chemistry teacher, right?"
He hums and looks past me, I don't have to turn my head to know he just shared a look with Damian.
"Okay. How did she bond with the Elsword?" He asks Damian.
"She started feeling pains and I took it. It felt like fire, shortly after that the Elsword reacted to her presence and appeared to her. She touched it before it disappeared. She's also got the markings."
The Headmaster nods and looks at me. "Do you have any questions?"
"I've got tons, starting with what the fuck is a Elsword and what does it have to do with me?"
"You want to take this one?" He asks Damian.
"I'm good, thanks."
"The Elsword is a primordial and the only one of it's kind, which is specifically designed for El-Laura-El. It allows her to physically embrace her negative energy power, it’s like an amplifier. The Elsword is bonded with El-Laura-El, which allows her to do whatever she wants with it. Nothing stands in its way, no power in the universe can stop it except the person wielding it. The main function is the ability to kill anything it comes across. The Elsword, also known as The Sword Of Death, is an umbra weapon."

I blink my eyes at the explanation. "So much on just a sword, how do you know so much about it?" I ask curiously without taking my eyes off my hand since the sword vanished from it.
"Because I knew the owner," he answers.
I nod and shake my head when I realize that I have no idea what he's talking about. "The owner, didn't you say it was design specifically for El-Laura-El?"
He nods and shares a weird look with Damian. "What's the look for?"
"It was designed specifically for El-Laura-El but anyone with her blood coursing through their veins can wield it," he explains.
"Agreed but why is the sword drawn to me?" I ask.
"Isn't it obvious, it's because you are–" The door of office is suddenly yank open, revealing Professor Holmes.
Of course it has to be him, the romance author.
"Bad timing?" He asks.
I roll my eyes and want to answer of but the headmaster beat me to it. "Of course not, come in. We'll continue this later Cami," he promises.
I nod and walk out of his office and stand beside the door to wait for Damian.
I cross my arm over my chest and tap my feet on the floor as I wait for him impatiently. I push myself off the wall when he opens the door.
"Hey," I give him a small smile.
"What do you want?" I'm not hurt by the tone he decides to use. The guy is difficult to read and understand.
I shake my head. "Nothing."
"Good day," he turns on his heels and starts to walk away but stops when I talk.
"So you are going to stay away from me because your Dad asked you too?" More like a question than a statement.
"No."
I smile. "Good because I want to find my adopted parents next." I inform him.
"They obviously don't want to be found." He shrugs like be doesn't care and continues walking away.
"You don't believe that," I say and walk after him. My fingers wraps around his wrist and I stop in front of him. "Don't walk away from me, everyone is walking away from me, not you too," I beg him.
He yanks his hand away out of my hold and glares at me. "Your friends will walk through fire for you. Today is a prime example of that, I don't get why you don't understand that. Stop complaining and being ungrateful when everyone has their own life to deal with." He scolds.
I didn't see that coming. When I said everyone is walking away from me I didn't mean my friends.
"You promised to help me," I remind him in a very low tone.
He closes his eyes and shakes his head. "I didn't promise you anything just like I never said I won't help you," he fires back.
Wow! I think I'm starting to see that Damian is quite mean.
"Don't bother, I'll find them myself, excuse me." I say and turn my heels, walking away from him.
My life is officially over. I don't have to list why that is.
Before going to my room, I stop at the cafeteria to get something to eat. I grab chicken sandwich and orange juice before finding myself a place to sit in the empty place. I unwrap the sandwich and raise it to my mouth to take a bite but I don't get to as two figures suddenly slide into the seat in front of me.
"I'm trying to be alone, if you haven't noticed," I say without raising my head. There's only two people in the school that can't do anything without each other.
"We can help you find your parents, Cami." Brie and Ari offer at the same time.
I raise my eyebrows in question. "How did you know I'm looking for my parents?" I'm not in the mood for games today, especially now.
They shrug. "We are Gemini witches, we know everything." They answer. I'm sick and tired of hearing different voices saying the same thing, it's too confusing. Just makes me think of the sisters of the dark. I forgot to ask the headmaster about them.
I scrunch my nose. "Good. I'm listening," I answer. This better be worth my time or I'm going to personally shut them up.
"We can do a location spell for you, when do you want us to do it?"
Are they for real? "Now! Let's do it now," I say in haste.
****
The three of us settle in their room. I would have asked them to use my room but Jessica is there and I don't want her knowing anything about this.
We sit in circles and our hands are locked, a globe is sitting in our middle.
"Lass dess locoso Richard Starling," We chant at the same time. The globes begins to turn, going really fast until it stop to glow at a particular region.
"You found your parents, what are you going to do?" They ask when the circle is broken.
"Nothing," I lie.
Of course I'm going after them. Bloody wankers can't even stay near, they went to Australia.
I thank the girls and they assure me I can come to them whenever. I leave their room and go to my room. Opening the door, I see Jessica already asleep on her bed. Hmm. She needs it, giving the day she had.
How I need that sleep too.
I take off my clothes and hit the shower. Changing to my pajamas, I crawl into bed and cover my face with my blanket. I hope I wake tomorrow and everything makes sense.

Falling for a Star (Complete)
I had never paid much attention to celebrity gossip or what was going on in Hollywood because that was so far from the lifestyle I lived as a poor college student, working as a barista to save up for my own house after graduation. My Dad thought it would be the perfect chance for me to get out of Iowa, see the world and have an adventure for once. Spending a week in Paradise in the guest house of Dylan Chase's Malibu mansion right on the beach, attending a movie premiere on his arm, shopping on Rodeo Drive and eating at five star restaurants was like a dream come true, but sleeping in his bed and falling for a guy from a completely different world than me was never part of the plan because we could never end up together.
