Former DAY6 member, professionally known as , and his usage of offensive words on a livestream recently has had many in the K-POP community's tongue wagging on the issue - as many expressed their anger and disappointment towards the former idol for his insensitive remarks.

This controversy has undoubtedly caused many to start doubting if was a healthy platform for everyone and K-idols who are also known to be active on the platform; One of them being 's .

The idol, also known as on ,was a relatively well-known streamer in South Korea's gaming community for his and gameplay streams. The streamer was able to rack up a decent following at 110K followers prior to his appearance on national television as a contestant on 's survival reality show, . Through the show, many were able to see a different side of the streamer, as the gamer took on challenges on stages; a huge contrast in terms of environment from his bedroom.

However, it was only after the recent controversy when fans started picking up "problematic" behaviours from the idol from the past.

As serving a variety of charisma is part and parcel of being an idol in the industry, fans are now criticising for his poor attitude at being an idol after comparing his broadcasts as an idol to livestreams of him as a streamer. One example of this would be 's occasional use of swear words on but there is almost little to none instances where he would swear on . This is because had a no swearing rule to make their platform friendly for all ages. Hence, streamers on often have to abstain on censor our swear words on broadcasts. on the other hand, has no such rule regarding swearing on stream. The difference in behaviour on the two platforms has caused many to fear that will one day, like former DAY6 member , to have a drastic negative change in behaviour to "appease the incels on ".

Not wanting to see make the same mistakes as the former DAY6 member did, a portion of fans are asking for to choose between being an idol or being a streamer and asking that he quits the other. This has caused fans to have divided opinions on this, with some agreeing that he shouldn't get to be both at the same time while others are stating that he should be responsible for himself and the consequences of his wrongdoings should he make any in the future and that they as fans, have no rights to tell him what to do with his life.

to be frank, i get the concerns. a long time twitch user would know that many streamers there usually come off as insensitive for their remarks and truthfully, i fear that our jinyoung fall too deep into the twitch streamer hole and starts coming off and make insensitive remarks well. but this does NOT give us a right to dictate on what he should do with his life.
