《writer in the dark - neil perry》28

amélie eagerly said as she picked up the phone. she expected it to be one of her girl friends.
"hey, it's neil." neil quietly said. he had felt back for blowing amé off.
"hi." she whispered. she wasn't sure what to say to him.
"would you like to go out tonight? we can go to a restaurant or something, or the dock because it's getting kind of warmer. or for a walk around in the forest.. or we could.." neil listed off things. "honestly, i don't really care as long as i'm with you."
"let's go to the drive in." amélie shrugged. she wasn't sure how that was going to go.
"okay, i'm looking forward to it." neil smiled awkwardly. "let's say.. i'll pick you up around 5? my grandpa will lend me his car."
"sure, sounds good to me." amé nodded.
"okay, see you then." neil exhaled, hanging up the phone before she could say anything. he was nervous, they were never like this.
———-
a few hours later, amélie exited the school and saw neil, in an unfamiliar car. she recognized him, his beautiful face, anywhere.
"hi." she smiled, awkwardly getting into the passenger seat.
"hey." neil nodded, his eyes fixated on the steering wheel. he began driving. no one spoke. the two didn't even look at eachother. amélie occasionally glanced to see if neil was looking at her, but he never was.
she finally broke the silence once they arrived at the drive in. "why is this so awkward? we're never like this." she huffed.
"i don't know." neil shook his head, a crooked smile on his lips.
"what i want to know is why have you been acting so distanced from me?" amé confronted him. he looked shocked that she was being so stern with him. "when i called you, you were 'busy'."

"i was!" he threw up his hands in defense.
"oh yeah, busy doing what?"
"my grandpa got me a job working for his friend. i've been trying to put all my time into that, because i'm grateful what my grandpa's been doing for me and my mom." neil quickly said. amélie's gaze softened, but she still wasn't satisfied with that answer.
"okay, but why didn't you tell me instead of ignoring me?" she narrowed her eyes. she was trying to seem cool, but was close to tears, thinking of the things neil could say.
"i.." he began, he was nervous to continue his sentence. he saw the tears in amé's eyes, and tried to find a way to admit to her why and comfort her at the same time.
"just say it! please! i've been worried sick about this. i thought you didn't like me anymore!" she quivered, bringing a hand to her cheek.
"that could never be true. you're my world." neil grabbed her hand and rubbed her palm with his thumb.
he exhaled, getting ready to admit something no guys his age would EVER. "i've been feeling so insecure, after we.. had sex."
he continued, his eyes gazing into amélie's. "i know i've done it before, but i don't know if i'm any good, and i was afraid you were, disgusted by me or something."
she relaxed her shoulders. "neil, i thought you were disgusted by me! i mean, i had no idea what i was doing." she admitted, a smile on hee lips.
"you were good! i just don't want our relationship to only be this, you know?" neil replied, moving his hand to her shoulder.
"i agree." she nodded quickly. he'd said her thoughts right back to her.

"you are the best thing that's ever come into my life. and i'm not kidding, before you, it was dull. you are so vibrant, and bring color into my life. you are everything to me." neil pleaded, grabbing both hands and grasping them tightly.
"without you, i'd be cooped up in my dads house every weekend." amélie laughed, pulling neil into a one-armed hug.
"without you, i'd be dead." neil replied. amé held up a hand to stifle her awkward laughter, because she knew what he was saying was true.
"i shouldn't laugh. that was just so out of nowhere, i'm sorry." she bit the bottom of her lip softly.
neil shook his head. "it's okay. i'm here now, and i'm never going to leave you."
"i love you." was all amélie could manage.
"i love you too." neil responded. the words had become so natural for him, he almost wanted to say it in every sentence he spoke to her. the two made their way to the backseat of the car. they didn't care about the movie, they had eachother. amélie quietly nestled into neil's chest, and drifted to sleep.
amélie was woken up in the backseat of an unfamiliar care. she immediately saw neil, and drowsily looked around. "you said your dad wanted you home right around now." neil gestured to the clock on the car. amélie brought a hand to her neck. it hurt from sleeping weirdly. they were in front. of her house.
she slowly said her goodbyes to neil, and got out of the car. she blew a kiss to him, and quietly attempted to open the door without her dad hearing.

Dungeon of the Dead [hiatus]
The dungeons in this realm usually do not develop truely sentient personalities until much later on in their life. As such they are unable to generate the power the Dungeon God needs to function. Plus when they do develop their personalities, they are usually sociopathic killing machines because...well...their dungeons. Because of this the Dungeon God isn't doing so hot, and in a latch ditch attempt to preserve his Godhood he creates one final dungeon that will have a personality immediately. Unfortunately this particular dungeons seems to be just a little.....incredibly stupid. Due to the dungeon not paying attention during its earliest moments it ends up being a dungeon of the undead. This dungeon is the Dungeons Gods last chance and if it fails he will be stripped of his power by the other deitys and his creations will be exterminated. As the sentient races throughout the land despise undead and seek to destroy them where possible, this could well mean the extinction of the dungeon race...
8 156A Glass Window
This is the story of a glass window that gets installed on the façade of a train station. It's nothing serious, after all it spends most of the time just windowing there as people pass by and live their lives.

A man of cripplingly ill mind, bridled with the spirits and regrets of the past. Wade Pierce trudges through each day of his monochrome existence, only as penance for his sins. Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...
