《World Of Swords》25 : Embarrassed

Looking at Xu Yue, who was sitting obediently in Wu Jing's lap, made Feng Shuchun want to doubt if Xu Yue actually had a domination Dao Heart.
"How did you manage to condense your Dao Heart?" asked Wu Jing while brushing Xu Yue's hair.
"I just thought of some things I hadn't thought of before," responded Xu Yue innocently.
Feng Shuchun almost spit out a mouthful of blood as she remembered how much time it took her to comprehend her own Dao Heart.
Looking at Xu Yue, Wu Jing couldn't help but have her lips twitch.
She then remembered something.
"You have not learned about Dao Heart abilities yet," said Wu Jing, looking at Xu Yue sitting on her lap.
"Dao Heart abilities?" inquired Xu Yue, she knew that having a powerful Dao Heard rapidly increases the growth of the soul and the ability to comprehend dao, but nor much else about them.
"The Dao Heart is composed of two parts, understanding of oneself and willpower. As long as either part of the Dao Heart is strengthened, the whole heart will become stronger."
"Your willpower actually reached the level where your Dao Heart could be condensed long ago. You merely had to understand who you are to condense your Dao Heart."
"Dao Heart abilities are created by using your Dao Heart to channel the power of your soul."
"By combining the characteristics of both, an ability will be created, to use this ability, the cultivator only need to will it," finished Wu Jing while looking at Xu Yue.
A moment later, both Wu Jing and Feng Shuchun felt a wave of coldness wash over them, and try to freeze them.
"Don't be naughty," said Wu Jing, the coldness immediately disappearing afterward.
"I will be obedient," said Xu Yue as she remembered the punishments she faced when she was younger, all haughtiness disappeared from her face, being replaced with a sad look. It seemed as if tears were close to appearing on her face.

Feng Shuchun's heart ached as he wondered how Wu Jing could be so heartless, and what punishment she had meted out to Xu Yue to make her so afraid.
"Cut the act," said Wu Jing, a dangerous look appearing on her face.
The sad look on Xu Yue's face immediately disappeared.
"You shouldn't be so naughty," said Wu Jing while brushing Xu Yue's hair. It seemed as if what she said was both an order and a plea.
"Um," nodded Xu Yue, now being truthful.
After a few minutes of hair brushing, Xu Yue began to relax. Eventually, her head fell into her mother's chest, falling asleep.
Looking at the small smile on the sleeping Xu Yue's face made Wu Jing smile.
"Who usually brushes her hair?" asked Wu Jing, a frown now appearing on her face.
"Her senior sister," responded Feng Shuchun, wondering how Wu Jing had discovered this fact.
Wu Jing breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at her silky smooth hair and remembering how incompetent Xu Yue was at brushing her own hair made it extremely obvious to Wu Jing that Xu Yue's hair was being brushed by someone else.
Knowing that the one who does it is female, the killing intent in her eyes shrunk quite a bit.
"I'm safe," thought Feng Shuchun as she felt the killing intent coming towards her retract as well. For a moment, it felt as if she was at death's door.
Because they stood at such a short distance apart from each other, Feng Shuchun would not even have time to activate the formations on the peak before dying.
After a while, Feng Shuchun went back to her cave abode, leaving Wu Jing alone with the sleeping Xu Yue.
Looking at the sleeping Xu Yue, Wu Jing smiled happily.

Wu Jing used her finger to poke Xu Yue's cheek, uncaring if she woke up.
"Pretending to sleep, where did you learn this?" asked Wu Jing while poking Xu Yue's cheek once again.
"You woke me up when you poked my cheek, but I didn't want to bother you," said Xu Yue with an honest look on her face.
"This trick could work on those that have not seen you actually sleep," said Wu Jing, nodding while looking at Xu Yue.
A deep blush appeared on Xu Yue's face. She then looked down, not daring to gaze at her mother.
"This is the first time I have seen you this embarrassed in six years," said Wu Jing, smiling.
"The thickness of your skin is quite shocking," said Wu Jing, continuing to tease her daughter.
Xu Yue turned towards Wu Jing before embracing her and hiding her face in Wu Jing's chest.
"Yue'er," said Wu Jing, a smile appearing on her face, Xu Yue.
Xu Yue did not dare look at Wu Jing and ignored her call.
Looking at Xu Yue, a melancholic smile appeared on Wu Jing's face. She remembered how Xu Yue used to use this trick to hide from her every time she was embarrassed.
"I will close my eyes and promise I won't look," said Wu Jing, using her hand to soothe Xu Yue.
Xu Yue felt a hand behind her head and, after hearing what her mother said, she slowly looked at her mother's face.
Seeing her mother's closed eyes, Xu Yue breathed a sigh of relief. She slowly departed from her mother. She could swear she felt Wu Jing's soul sense looking at her. She gritted her teeth at this feeling.
After calming down a bit, she began straightening out her clothes. Unknown to her, the moment she took her eyes off her mother, her eyes popped open, looking at Xu Yue.
A fatal mistake Xu Yue had made was not considering from whom she had gotten her shamelessness.
A small memory crystal appeared in Wu Jing's hand, capturing every moment of Xu Yue being embarrassed.
The moment Xu Yue looked towards her mother and saw her with her eyes closed, it made Xu Yue breathe a sigh of relief.
After Xu Yue's attention turned to her robe, Wu Jing's eyes once again opened and the memory crystal once again started working.

Papercuts to Fell Immortals
Qing Shen is a girl from the counrtyside, forced into a role she never wanted by a Young Master who's infamy is spread throughout the land. As a Cultivator in the path to immortality, Qing Shen has to deal with her own problems as well as the mysteries surrounding her Young Master. Things, however, are not as they seem, and the young girl finds that sometimes the truth is more unbelievable than the lies we often follow. . . . If you want a less hidden-meaning summary: This story is about the struggles of one girl as she tries to become an Immortal. There won't be any meaningful romance, but there will be a plot that spans most of the story, and violence. Oh the violence! I'm not going to say that my ideas are 100% original (because hoo boy are there a lot of Wuxia), but hopefully I can write something entertaining. Guaranteed things: 1. Cliche events with a twist (I mean, it's literally in the description) 2. Important Characters will have backstories and motivations that will hopefully make them not one-dimensional (honestly, that's just normal stuff...) 3. Untrustworthy characters (everyone in the story lies, even me, so don't trust everything you read... but at the same time, trust everything you read) 4. Goodish grammar (not gonna say mine's the best, but it's readable in most cases) 5. Plot! (Everywhere!) 6. worldbuilding? (Should be there somewhere, but I probably won't do blatant info dumps... probably) 7. Character development? (Its there... at some point...) 8. The story gets dark at some points (if you don't like characters dying, then this might not be your cup of tea) 9. A strong main character? (She'll be strong, yes. However, her enemies are also strong. If everyone is strong, then is she no longer strong? My brain hurts) 10. Wow, this list is going on for awhile... uh, Believable and reasonable Action? (I mean, I'm writing for mainly my fun, so if I want a fight scene, then I might craft a scenario to explain it... or I might suddenly throw in a Dragon and call it a day) This story also goes by the same name over on Webnovel.com, but I'm going to be updating it here because, well I want to. They are both by me, and created by me. If there's anything that seems like a copy of another work, then that's just the genre being saturated by everything under the sun.
