"I chose her," said Xu Yue, pointing to a particular elder.
"Elder Feng Shuchun huh".
"She cultivates the dao of the ocean, and is considered the third strongest of the elders," said Xu Chao with a smile on his face.
"I'll take you to her," said Xu Chao.
"Yes father," said Xu Yue with a serious look on her face.
As soon as she said this, both of them started flying.
Looking at the peak they were approaching, Xu Yue did not feel nervous in the slightest. Both of them stopped a certain distance from the peak, as a formation had detected their presence.
"Sect master," said Elder Feng Shuchun as she bowed.
"You don't need to bow, senior sister," said Xu Chao, remembering his dark past with this senior sister of his.
"My daughter has chosen to accept you as her master."
"Good," said Feng Shuchun with a smile on her face, even though Feng Shuchun could be considered an old monster. If you put her next to some young disciples of the sect, it would not seem out of place. Her most identifiable traits are her blue hair and the water drop mark on her left eyebrow.
"Follow me," said Feng Shuchun as she went towards her peak.
As the three of them approached Feng Shuchun's peak, they saw a female cultivator standing outside of the peak. waiting for them.
"This is my first disciple, Liang Xiaoling," said Feng Shuchun, feeling somewhat proud of her first disciple.
"Disciple greets sect master," said Xiaoling as she bowed towards Xu Chao.
"Um," responded Xu Chao with a nod.
"I shall be on my way now," said Xu Chao.
Feng Shuchun nodded. After a moment, Xu Chao disappeared.
After Xu Chao disappeared, the three of them entered a hall.

As Liang Xiaoling went off to the side, Feng Shuchun asked.
"Do you want to recognize me as your master?"
"Disciple is willing"
After this, a short master acknowledging ceremony took place, and it ended with Xu Yue serving Feng Shuchun a cup of tea.
"Unlike most other peaks, only the three of us will stay on this peak, thus there are not many rules."
"One, do not betray the sect."
"Two, do not practice celestial demon exercises."
Xu Yue knew that celestial demons were beings that devour worlds to increase their cultivation base.
"Three, do not take part in Human Calamities."
Hearing these three rules, even Xu Yue felt like they were quite loose.
"I will begin guiding your swordsmanship in three days."
"For now, Ling Ling will guide you to your cave adobe."
"Yes, master."
Xu Yue felt like she had exited a wolf's den. Even though her master was not that strict, for some reason Xu Yue still had this feeling.
Looking at her serious senior sister, her lips couldn't help but twitch when she thought of the nickname Ling Ling.
After walking for a few seconds, the two cultivators stopped. They then entered the cave adobe.
Xu Yue breathed a sigh of relief. Even though it wasn't luxurious, it wasn't shabby at all, unlike what you would think of when you thought of the name cave adobe.
"The master will teach you swordsmanship in three days. You should familiarise yourself with your new home."
"Yes, senior sister Ling Ling."
As soon as she accidentally said that, Xu Yue couldn't help but look downwards, not wanting to look her senior sister in the eyes.
"We'll meet later, little Yue Yue," said Xiaoling with a little smirk on her face as she left.

As soon as she heard that, Xu Yue wanted to take out her sword and fight 100 rounds with her senior sister.
"It doesn't even make sense," thought Xu Yue about her nonsensical nickname.
As Xu Yue was exploring her cave-dwelling, she couldn't help but nod. It had everything; an alchemy room, a talisman room, a sword practicing room.
As she continued exploring it, her jaw almost dropped. Looking at the 20 zhang long and 25 zhang wide bath Xu Yue felt that space could be used more effectively.
Three days had passed in a hurry. Xu Yue was now walking towards her master's cave adobe. A few minutes later, she was outside it.
"This disciple is here," said Xu Yue as she stood outside her master's cave adobe. She then found herself in a large training ground, similar to the one she had in her own adobe but much bigger.
"Master," said Xu Yue as she bowed.
"You don't need to be so formal," said Feng Shuchun.
"I shall begin teaching you swordsmanship today."
"But first you should show me your mastery of the Origin Sword Style".
Xu Yue then began using all the moves of the Origin Sword Style, compared to before she entered the Trial Padoga, her mastery of swordsmanship had grown considerably, even without using her sword will.
She was quite surprised when Xu Yue began using her sword will. she then began painting out the mistakes she had made when practicing the sword in the padoga. Even some mistakes that her father and grandfather had not picked up on before.
Xu Yue knew that her master had taken a different sword path compared to her father and grandfather. This was the reason she could see those mistakes that they couldn't.
As she was teaching Xu Yue, Feng Shuchun felt someone outside of the mountain formation. Her true body stayed to teach Xu Yue as an incarnation went to see who was outside.
"The disciple greets the Great Elder," said Feng Shuchun.
"You do not have to be so uptight, little Feng," said Xu Hui.
"I'm still thankful for you sending Chao on the right path."
"I did not come here for this," said Xu Hui.
Xu Hui then took out the treasure that was granted to Xu Yue by the Ancestors at the false immortal realm.
"This treasure must be used to balance the Yin and Yang in Xu Yue's body."
The moment he said that, Feng Shuchun inspected Xu Yue's body.
"This disciple shall give it to her immediately," said Feng Shuchun with a bit of worry.

8 154To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
8 239Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course. Where else is a kid from the gutters going to find that kind of freedom in the service of His Majesty? A [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] 2021.
