The following morning I wake up earlier than I've never have because I'm nervous about seeing Damien again. I couldn't sleep well. All I could think about was him. He plagues my thoughts and it's scary. I'm a Scorpio and when I'm into something or someone, I'm all in. Damien is making me go deep and I don't think there's anything more dangerous.

Even though my waking hour is early, I take a quick bath and return to the room. I unplug my phone from the charger and connect my airpod to it and scroll through my music list, I click on Machine Gun Kelly and Willow's emo girl and put it in repeat as I go through my closet for the perfect outfit. I sing the lyrics to the song and dance around the room. I have the whole room to myself since Jessica spent the night with Nate, so I'm free to scream the lyrics to emo girl as loud as I can.

I'm nervous and at same time I'm excited because I don't know what he has plans and he didn't give me a clue, so I'm not sure what to wear. It's not like I have much to go through, it's mostly jeans and tops. I dig through the mini closet and after nine repeats of emo girl, I finally pick something.

I tuck in my red camo tee inside the white olive side stripe jogger trouser. I sit on my bed after sliding my feet inside the high heel lace-up ankle boots.

Standing up from the bed, grabbing my hair brush from my nightstand. I walk to the mirror to check my appearance. This is a first for me, dressing up for someone. I just hope said person notices it. Sighing, I brush my hair and take my time since I still have like an hour before I meet him.

A knock on the door shifts my focus from staring at myself in the mirror. I frown. Who can that be? Jessica has a key and it's too early for anyone to be awake right now giving the party they had last night.

I toss the hairbrush on my bed on my way to get the door. I unlock and open the door. "Good morning." I greet the two lovebirds standing in front of me, looking well actually. "You could have used your key." I say to Jessica.

They should be having the biggest hangover but they look completely fine like they didn't drain the tall pole from yesterday, which I found out was filled with alcohol. Yeah, some students did it. He won't admit it but I know Nate had something to do with it because he encouraged everyone to drink through the tap after he and Jessica got the first taste.

"You're looking well." I comment, staring at them. The both look freshly showered and dressed like they're going somewhere.

"Yeah, we could the same about you." Nate counters.

I roll my eyes. "You were vomiting all over each other last night, what happened? How did you get so clean and hangover free?"

Jessica's cheeks get red as she hides her face in embarrassment while Nate steps closer, owning his. "There's nothing magic can't fix and we didn't vomit all over each other."

"Huh uh... Keep telling yourself that, Nate." I emphasis his Nate.

He sighs and raise one finger up. "Once. I vomited once."

My lips parts to remind him about the three times I saw him vomit but the sound of my alarm blaring stops me. I hold my finger up, mimicking Nate and says, "to be continued."

I walk to my bed and pick up my phone, turning off the twenty minutes warning alarm I set. I stuff my phone into my pocket, knowing it's time to go. It's better to get there before time than be late. I only have one problem, what am I going to tell Nate and Jessica?

Sighing, I head over to them, a fake smile plastered all over my face. "Hey guys," I begin like this is my first time seeing them this morning. "How are you doing this morning? Last night event didn't overwhelm you, right? Because it did me, so I'm going to go stretch my legs at the lake. See you guys later."

I move between them but I don't get anywhere as Nate speaks, "who do you think you're fooling, Cami?" I look at him with my eyebrows raised in question. "You're going to stretch your legs in heel boots and your hair perfectly made. Give me something else, love."

Before I answer Nate, Jessica talks, "you are not going anywhere without me, Cami."

I close my eyes and groan. How the fuck did she know?

"What gave me away? Was it something I said last night?" I open my eyes and ask.

Jessica shakes her head. "I heard you talking to that guy, he told you to meet him at library."

"How did you–"

"She's got sharp ears. Perks of being a sage and mage. It's bloody confusing though, the whole sage and mage stuff." They share a laugh.

"I'm sorry but he said only me, and you just invited yourselves without knowing where we're going."

Nate shrugs and looks at Jessica. "He's not talking you on a date early morning, Cami. And I have reasons to believe that he's going to look for your parents." Jessica says.

"Why would you even say that?" I haven't told Jessica about anything going on in my life. We just started talking again yesterday and now she knows I'm looking for my parents. She doesn't know I'm adopted, which means Nate told her.

"Because Nate told me what happened when he tried doing a location spell." She confirms.

"That doesn't mean he's talking me home."

Wait... She's kind of making sense. Damien said I should meet him at the library after I told him I couldn't get hold of them. Is he really going to help me look for them?

"We don't know for sure. Okay, how about this, we follow you to the library and if Damien tells us to back off nicely, we'll leave you to it." She says.

"Would you really?"

"Hell fucking no, Cami. You saved my life and I owe you for the rest of my life. You don't know that guy and I've never seen him before. So I am going wherever he's taking you."

"I–"

"And I'm going wherever Jessica's going."

"Oh fucking–"

"Did someone say joyride?" A familiar voice asks behind us.

Our heads turn to the direction to see Roman.

"Oh great. What the fuck are you doing here?"

He shrugs and approaches us. "I came to see coach and I overheard someone say something about going somewhere. I'm down."

I shake my head and whip my head to glare at Jessica. The look on my face make her flinch. That's right, she should flinch. It's all her fault.

I don't have Damien's number, I would have call off the whole thing.

Standing in the library with all these unwanted faces, and somehow he doesn't look bothered almost like he knew they were coming. Damien is always calm and collected, today is no different.

I clear my throat to ease the tension in the room. I think there is some bad blood between Damien and Roman from the glare Roman is sending his way even though Damien isn't acknowledging it. I should probably ask what happened between then but I know Damien won't say anything because he is not big on words.

"Damien." Finally, Roman breaks the silence.

Damien removes his hands from his pockets and keeps them by his side. "Benedict," he acknowledges Roman without changing his expression. I watch as his gaze moves from Roman to me, needless to say that he is not happy with me. "Camille, I asked you to come alone. What are they doing here?" He demands.

"No shit. What are you doing here? Why did you ask her to meet you alone? Is the headmaster aware of this?" Roman all but growl the question, which confirms that some really did happen between the both of them.

"That's none of your business, Roman and before you say something else, you better watch it." I reply and step in front of Damien and give him my cute puppy eyes. "Damien, I'm so sorry, you have no idea how much I already regret this. Jessica and Nate ambushed me," I explain and glare at them only for them to wave back. Assholes. "Roman invited himself even though it's obvious that nobody wants him here." I make sure to look at him while I address him.

"Someone has to have your back in case someone decides to stab you!" He responds and glares at Damien.

Damien keeps his gaze forward, not exactly staring into space but it sure looks like it before he finally speaks out. "They are not coming." He voices his decision.

I sigh and stare at him. I can't look to see what expression the others are wearing because they have it coming. I told them we didn't want company.

"Excuse me?" Roman says, and I hear his footsteps behind me.

Damien put his hands inside his pocket. "You heard me, Benedict. And you know how much I hate repeating myself. You three aren't coming." He repeats himself.

"Damien." I call his name.

I can predict how this is going to end. They fight each other and I hate when guy acts like that. I know Roman and I know how he can be. He loves to be in control and not on the sideline, he hates that I'm going on a trip with Damien without telling him, and he is furious about Damien's negative answer. He thinks he has some kind of right to know my every move because the headmaster made him incharge of me.

Roman shoves me slightly to the side so that he can have the space in front of Damien. I watch Damien clenches his jaw and takes a step forward. "Don't. Ever. Do. That." He grits out.

Roman raises his eyebrows in question as I feel Jessica's hand on my shoulder. I place my hand on her hand to feel the comfort. I think things are going to get ugly.

"What did you say?" Roman asks.

This isn't going to end well. I know it.

Damien looks into Roman's eyes, keeping his stoic expression. "I said don't ever touch her like that." Damien repeats himself, and the warning in his tone is frightening. How is Roman not shivering?

When he said he shouldn't do that, I didn't think he meant the way Roman pushed me.

Roman takes a step forward, staring into Damien's eyes. If I wasn't watching him carefully I wouldn’t have noticed the way his hands are curled up in a tight fists.

"Or what?" Roman presses. He is deliberately pissing Damien off but he should know better than to cross paths with Damien.

"I think you have an idea of what I'm capable. Push me and see how I'll respond."

Okay, this is getting way too intense and I'm so over it. It cool to see to alpha male fight over me but I don't find it pretty or hot. It's annoying.

"You guys are so infuriating. Jessica, Nate and I will get going. I hope you assholes settle your dispute and meet us outside." I cut in and turn to Jessica and Nate. "Come on guys."

I follow Nate and Jessica outside but Nate doesn't stop. I look at Jessica, who shrugs and keep following him. "Who is that guy?" Jessica asks.

"Someone I met yesterday," I answer, not adding the fact that he's the headmaster's son. "I was waiting for you to step in." I call to Nate.

"Oh I don't engage in meaningless ego contest, love. They'll figure it out." He answers and turns to the direction of the last building, the one I hardly go in fact I've only been here once since my tour round the campus. Nate stops in front of what looks like a garage door and bend to pull it up.
