《Rise of the Last Star - A LitRPG Adventure》The Art of War (3)

Typhon gave Liam no time to breathe, even as he spoke. Supreme Technique after Supreme Technique poured out of him as if his energy reserves were endless. It was obvious that he had reached the maximum level long ago. Liam’s mind raced.
I’m not used to imbuing all of my Laws into my attacks yet.
It was a crippling flaw. The largest portion of his power lay in his Laws comprehension. If he couldn’t properly use it, it was the same as removing his limbs. In addition to it, all he had was his Imperial Armament. He remembered its abilities in an instant as a window appeared in the corner of his eye.
----------------------------------------Imperial Armament----------------------------------------
Divine Emperor’s Garments
* Humanity is a species blessed with the ability to overcome the obstacles in its way. For millions of years, it overcame its weaknesses by uniting its individuals and using their intelligence. You are humanity’s spear and shield. Its ultimate protector. The god who watches over it. You have been given the ability to overcome your enemies. Overwhelm all of those in your way. Fight for humanity. Become the god you truly are. You will prevail, Emperor of Humanity.
* War Angel’s Arsenal: your power manifests itself at your fingertips. Let it take the form of the spear that kills your enemies and of the shield that guards your loved ones. Bathe them in your divine light. Allows for the formation of countless weapons and armor.
* Golden Saint: your presence alone is your enemies’ greatest nightmare and your allies’ greatest comfort. The sight of something beyond them is unparalleled. Negatively or positively affects your surroundings, according to your will.
* Divinity: you are beyond the mortal plane. Your history will be forever immortalized. You are humanity’s undying ruler. Massively increases your comprehension.
* Mythos: for tens of thousands of years, humanity’s stories were told through myth and legend. Its history cannot be forgotten. Its stories will live on. Allows you to incarnate the power of several myths and legends according to your abilities.
* Sovereignty: you are an Emperor. You answer only to yourself. Outside orders and forces can never hope to shake your position. Your will imposes itself on the world around you. Increases your resistance to any outside influence. Increases the power of your Will.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He inwardly cursed as he realized his Imperial Armament did more than just increase his fighting capabilities. It also improved the effects of his Will and increased his comprehension. If he had kept it activated at all times, he would have achieved his desired results much faster and could have even gotten another Supreme Technique. It was a mistake born out of his unwillingness to part with his humanity. The Armament felt too divine for his taste. Even as his thoughts reached this point, Liam kept moving. His soul shook with every blow, but Typhon’s clean hits weren’t damaging his soul just yet. The Minotaur was always at the cusp of extinguishing Liam’s soul but never managed to do so. It was due to Liam’s Will and Ulvir holding it together desperately.
Endless spears of light appeared around them as they rained down on the enemy. Typhon’s onslaught momentarily stopped for an incredibly short period as he destroyed all of the surrounding energy weapons. At their level, it was a large enough window for Liam to act. Golden Saint and Limitlessness joined forces to boost his power and decrease the enemy’s resistance as much as possible. Spacetime Ruler locked down the space around his target.
I can make it.
Liam realized it in an instant. This attack would hit. If his feeling was correct, then he should go all out. Liam didn’t stop to consider any other option.
Gungnir. Longinus.
According to the legends, Odin’s spear was a weapon that never missed its mark, while Longinus’ spear had godslaying capabilities. Mythos turned myths into reality. Lastly, Liam poured everything into his most powerful Skill and Supreme Technique. The halos above and behind him rotated while golden dots adorned his black skin. Event Horizon wrapped itself around his golden spear.
Singularity.
The weight of his existence descended. It was as if the void had gotten countless times denser in an instant. Space collapsed immediately, mending itself back together with equal speed. Concentrated on an insignificant dot, Liam pierced forward with nearly infinite pressure. Spacetime collapsed onto itself as a black hole was created with Typhon at its very center. The Elean Emperor grunted. He punched at the tip of Liam’s spear while physically holding the black hole with the other hand, keeping it from expanding and swallowing the nearby area. It was a level of might that Liam had never witnessed.

This is bullshit.
It was a nonsensical, unrelatable level of power. Liam’s Singularity stopped dead in its tracks because of the enemy’s fist before being slowly pushed back. If he expanded back into himself, his body would be completely destroyed, and his soul would be harmed. His only choice was to keep pushing forward. Liam poured more and more of his Aura into the attack, moving amounts of his existential weight that he didn’t even know he could access. The confrontation was brought to a standstill once again as Liam strained himself. Typhon looked at the dot pressuring his fist before slowly moving his gaze to the black hole in his hands. Then, in one decisive move, he pulled back his fist and punched at the black hole. It shattered like glass at the same time that Liam’s Singularity hit the Emperor’s skin. Golden Aura covered it in an instant, creating armor. Singularity attempted to wear it down, to no avail. It was at that moment that Liam realized.
I can’t win right now.
He still couldn’t put all of his Laws into his attacks, which was proving to be far harder than he thought. With 1000 Perception, it was honestly unthinkable that anything in the mortal realm could hinder him. It was as if a thunderbolt had struck his mind.
By rejecting the changes that come with a high Perception, I limited its effects.
If the effectiveness of his Perception stat were at 100%, there wouldn’t be an issue with Laws at all. He would be able to apply the Laws he learned immediately and perfectly. Mastering more Laws also wouldn’t be difficult. Liam had unknowingly handicapped himself.
Fuck!
Liam made a decision in a split second. Before Typhon could raise his hands and attack him with the full weight of his condensed Aura, Liam teleported away. He crossed millions of Convergence light-years in an instant. The moment he arrived, he teleported again to the place furthest from Zancorix. The moment he annihilated most of the Elean population, he knew Typhon would chase him into the nine hells, but even the Elean Emperor had no margin to leave his home area for too long. The possibility of a third party swooping in to take the spoils always existed, especially now that the Elean Empire had been suddenly weakened by a foreign Emperor.
He'll only have a few seconds before he needs to return.
Nevertheless, a few seconds was more than enough at their level of power. Liam hid his presence with the Primordial Essence like before. Typhon would still be able to locate him if he knew what he was looking for. As such, Liam needed to change that, and fast. He needed to find a way to use the Primordial Essence to truly hide instead of just masking his presence. He felt Ulvir’s power cover him from head to toe. The image that appeared in his head was as if he were removing himself from reality, going into a special “zone” that spacetime couldn’t reach. Liam reached for what lay beyond spacetime itself.
Like breaking through a screen, his body disappeared. Liam was sure that he hadn’t left even a trace behind. He vanished from reality.
Where was he?
Liam’s Perception slowly extended its tendrils before recoiling in absolute horror. A voice appeared in his mind.
[I didn’t expect you to find your way into this place in your current state.]
The First Star. Liam felt a chill crawl up his spine. From what he had perceived, he floated in an area filled with absolute golden light. What lay beyond the construct of spacetime and dimensionality was Order’s purest sanctum. Every moment was timeless. Every instant might as well be an eternity. The First Star had complete freedom to act upon Liam for as long as they wished to do so. In this eternal, unchanging zone, Liam’s mind was consumed by only a single thought.
I need to get out of here.
Removing himself from reality had been a mistake. He hadn’t thought about it too deeply; otherwise, he would have realized that all that lay beyond dimensionality was the First Star’s territory. Infinite voices rose around him.
[Leave.]
[Now.]

Just a Rock
There was once a writer that felt like creating a story about a rock. A rock so amazing that its story just needed to be told. How amazing? Not amazing at all, on the contrary, quite ordinary. Don't believe me? Then read on. Edit: Resumed the story. Can’t do any more audio versions for now. I plan on editing some of the now non-applicable author notes and maybe rearranging the two side stories or combining them with the deleted chapters.
