The most important changes were those to his Skills and Laws. Most of his Skills had evolved to a higher rating, boosting their power considerably; he had also found out what came after the Legendary rating. In spite of their growth, what gave increased Liam’s power the most wasn’t his Skills.

Finally, I have reached the peak.

He had comprehended a few Laws in their entirety. It could be considered an unprecedented feat. Completely understanding a Law was unheard of. Most Emperors either chose to comprehend a lower number of Laws to a higher degree or spread out their understanding among various Laws.

Clyranth must have also reached this level.

It was likely that the woman had managed to master more than a few Laws. Even the Law of Spacetime should be among them, given how much time she had to study it. She had lived for over a million years, ignoring the temporal distortions along her life. She could have easily lived for hundreds of millions of years in total. In addition to her talent, the result was obvious.

The more powerful I become, the more I realize how great the distance between us is.

Clyranth felt unreachable. Liam didn’t let himself get discouraged. He still had time. Liam looked up from his Status Window and closed it. He took a deep breath in spite of being in the void of space. It was time to act.

Don’t overthink. Make it fast and painless. As soon as I move, the Emperor will notice me. There will only be a small window to destroy as many planets as possible.

With a heavy heart, Liam silently spread his power and perception around the nearby planets. He identified the living creatures to be all part of the same species. It was the ruling species on the planet in front of him. Liam tried his hardest to overcome his hesitation while also making sure that his Will detained any of the changes that came from having a high Perception. Sighing deeply within his heart, Liam apologized with a promise.

I’m sorry. I will resurrect all of you once I succeed.

In one swift movement…

His Aura exploded as the Primordial Essence roared. Thirty solar systems disappeared alongside the tens of planets populated by the Elean Empire’s species. A force filled with righteous anger and indignation came at him in full force. Liam grunted as a gauntlet-covered fist slammed into his side. His body was turned to nothingness before he could even blink, but he regenerated right afterwards. Liam tried to create distance between him and his opponent, but his body was erased immediately.

It’s a movement Supreme Technique. There’s also at least one offensive Technique.

His soul shakingly withstood the blows from the enemy Emperor, but it wouldn’t happen again. The next attacks would damage his soul without a doubt. He couldn’t let that happen. When he regenerated, he activated his Imperial Armament and used Constellation, which had now become a Supreme technique. There was a reason why he decided to have his awakening technique become his third Supreme Technique. Now that he had Singularity and Event Horizon for both offense and defense, Constellation was the one Skill that boosted all of his capabilities. Turning it into a Technique was the best possible course of action given his limited time.

For the first time, Liam forcefully endured his enemy’s attack by blocking it with a golden spear of light. He stared at the furious Emperor in front of him with complicated emotions. The creature in front of him was around four meters tall, looking like a Minotaur from humanity’s myths. His fists were covered by golden gauntlets that were sure to be an Imperial Armament. The Emperor bellowed.

“Why! Why have you attacked us?! We have done you no wrong! How dare you!”

Liam only shook his head as he blocked another blow.

“I’m sorry.”

No further words were exchanged between the two. Their feelings were transmitted to their attacks. For the first time, Liam tried to imbue his complete Laws into his attacks. His black and golden Aura was condensed to the limit, only encompassing the thousands of kilometers around him. It was the same for the enemy Emperor. While Liam could increase the radius of the battlefield in order to cause collateral damage, it was unlikely that the Elean Emperor would let him. It was also one final act of respect. He would only exterminate the enemy species once he defeated their Emperor.

His black Aura flowed like water, ebbing and flowing as if it were alive. The golden lightning struck with the fierceness of an inferno while being even faster than light. Every blow carried with it enough force and speed to split galaxies in half, especially given their condensed state. Liam’s spearmanship patterns shifted and changed countless times every second, making his attacks virtually impossible to predict. His attainment in the Law of the Soul also made every blow possess incredibly powerful soul-harming properties. In spite of this…

…Liam was losing. He let out a breath as his body was pushed back hundreds of kilometers for a single punch. If they weren’t containing their battle, he would have pierced through entire solar systems instead of just being pushed back. The Elean Emperor had also activated an Awakening Skill, making the situation even direr. Liam was outmatched. The enemy was faster, stronger, more experienced, and possessed more Supreme Techniques. He had been a fool.

The Minotaur threw a straight punch. Even though it was simple, it bent space around it and locked down spacetime around Liam, making it virtually impossible to dodge. Liam was forced to teleport, appearing directly behind his opponent. Before he could attack, however, the Emperor disappeared. It was the same movement Technique as before. Liam only had time to turn around before two fists slammed on his light spear’s shaft. He was hurled downwards. He perceived the enemy stepping through space and appearing next to him but couldn’t react fast enough. He barely raised his spear before the fist reached his face. His soul shook dangerously. Liam cursed under his breath. The Elean Emperor spoke.

“Annihilator of my kind, remember my name. I am Typhon. It is the name of the one who will kill you.”
