Dream still didn't quiet process that George was in America, always had to reassure himself by careful touches and hugs.
"You're so clingy", George said on this morning, when Dream gently touched his shoulder as he walked by to make himself coffee. Dream looked over and he almost looked sad, as he mumbled: "Uhm... I'm sorry, I- yeah, sorry"
He looked at his mug, as it filled with coffee and behind him George pulled up an eyebrow, before returning to making his breakfast.
As soon as his coffee was ready, Dream went back into his room and he felt his heart heavy in his chest. Clingy. That wasn't good.
George wasn't comfortable like this.
The blonde pressed his lips into a line, decided he'd stop with his bits of affection.
The days passed and Dream did his absolute best not to shower George in little affectionate gestures and as a result he detached from the knowledge that George was actually here.
Instead he started texting George more instead of talking to him, talked to him after recordings over discord and almost never left his room.
Instead of asking George if he wanted to go to the store, he texted him I still have to go to the store, cause Sapnap doesn't want to.
And instead of three, he only ever prepared two plates of food, by accident and whenever he saw George sitting on the couch he almost jumped in surprise, because it just didn't feel real anymore.
Sometimes he was sure he was hallucinating, especially when it was late at night or very early in the mornings.
And George noticed and the more he missed Dreams touches, the more realized how attached he grew to them. How attached he had grown to Dream.
And tonight he just couldn't help himself anymore.

Dream was laying on the couch, starring at the ceiling for hours at this point.
George felt the distance between them and it made it even harder for him to go through with his plan, but eventually he build up enough courage to walk over and lay on Dreams chest.
The blondes eyes widened with confusion, before he looked down, realizing it was actually George. Slowly he wrapped his arms around him, one hand gently running his fingers through the brown hair.
And the more realization hit the more emotional it made him.
He felt tears welling up in his eyes and he pulled George closer. "You're here", he mumbled almost inaudibly and George nodded. "Yeah, I'm here", he whispered back and Dream sobbed. "Oh god", he sighed, in almost something like relief.
George could feel Dream shake with sobs and asked: "What's wrong?"
"I don't know", he replied, "I just couldn't understand that you were here and not an entire ocean away and when you told me I was so clingy, when I touched you to reassure myself this was real, I was so afraid that I'd make you uncomfortable. And I still feel so detached from the fact that you're here and that I can just come into your room to talk and that I can hug you and be there for you when you need me"
"I didn't mean to make you stop, it was just supposed to be another of my remarks", George said apologetically, "I didn't mean to hurt you by saying that"
"It's not your fault, that I can't wrap my head around the fact that my favorite person in the whole world is finally living here"
"You're my favorite person too", George whispered and held tighter onto him.
Dream kissed his head and George blushed.

"I'm so in love with you, George and I'm so happy that you're here", he whispered and George felt his heart jump. "Really?", he asked sitting up to meet Dreams eyes.
He nodded while tears streamed down his face and then suddenly, George decided there was never a better moment then this one. He leaned down and gently kissed Dream. He felt the blonde sitting up, with him on his lap, hands running into his hair.
The kiss felt genuine and soft and George smiled when they softly parted.
Dream sobbed and hugged him tightly, hiding his face in the nape of Georges neck.
"I love you so much", he sobbed and quickly George hugged him back, kissed his head and whispered: "I love you too"
