"Dream!", Sapnap yelled, as he saw him getting out of the car. "Sapnap!", Dream yelled back and came up to hug him.
"It's so good to see you", Sapnap said and Dream chuckled, shook his head. "Your accent gets worse every time I visit"
"Not everyone grew up in the city, be glad that I'm trying to speak y'alls city english", Sapnap replied, before he turned to look at who Dream brought along for the holidays.
Quickly his eyes stopped at a brunette boy and time started to slow.
He smiled as he got out of the back seat of Dreams old Ford and looked around curiously. "Who's he?", Sapnap asked, gaze showing how in awe he was with this guy he had never met before. "That's Georges best friend, he was the extra I told you about.", Dream said and nudged him, "Interested?"
"Very", Sapnap confessed breathlessly, with a soft smile, "God, he's gorgeous"
Dream laughed and hit against his upper arm. "Get him tiger", he said and quickly Sapnap looked down on himself.
"Couldn't you have told me that you're bringing the most beautiful guy in the world? I'm covered in mud and hay", he then hissed and Dream wheezed. "Calm down, he won't mind", he said amused, when finally George yelled: "Sapnap!" "George!" "Take my suitcases inside!" "Do it yourself, b-", he stopped, didn't want to curse in front of the pretty boy. "But it's heavy" "Then you should've packed less", Sapnap said as he came closer.
He finally met eyes with the stranger, took off his head and held him a hand. "I'm Sapnap, nice to meet you", he said and as the other took his hand, he kissed the back of it. The stranger blushed and smiled at him. "I'm Karl, it's very nice meeting you too. I've heard a lot about you" "Only good things, I hope", Sapnap said and smiled at him.
"Depends on who I was talking to", Karl said and Sapnap looked over at George, who shrugged. "I don't think you're pretty helpful", he said and nodded at the suitcases.
Sapnap smirked and shook his head, before he asked Karl if he needed help with his suitcases. "That would be very nice, thank you", he said and quickly followed Sapnap inside.
"Hey, what about us?", Dream asked and Sapnap looked back at them. "You guys know where to go, don't pretend you're visiting for the first time", he replied and quickly walked upstairs with Karl, showing him his room. "This is your room, if you ever need anything just tell me.", he said, "I'm also very sorry for not looking my best for this first impression, I just cleaned the box of my horse Beak" "Don't worry, you look great", Karl said and Sapnap smiled.
"Alright, I'm gonna look after Dream and George for a moment. If you want I can show you around a bit later", Sapnap suggested and Karl nodded. "Absolutely, I'd love that", he said and then Sapnap smiled, tipped his hat and left to find Dream and George. He found them in the room down the hall and quickly closed the door, leaning against it. "He's so amazing, why have you never brought him here before?", he said, "I'd also appreciate the warning next time so I don't look like a horse just stepped on me, when the most gorgeous boy ever walks up to me"

"You always look like one of your stupid horses stepped on you" "You bitch", Sapnap replied and Dream started laughing at Georges expression. "Don't you want to defend me Dream?", the brunette asked and Dream put an arm around him. "Maybe if you're nicer next time"
"Anyway, you guys cook dinner tonight, I'll take him on a tractor ride around the ranch.", Sapnap said and quickly left before they could protest.
He went over into Karls room again and said: "Whenever you're ready, I'll be downstairs"
"Actually, I can finish unpacking later", Karl said and got up, quickly walking up to him, "You can give me the tour now if you want"
"Sure", Sapnap said and brought him downstairs, "Alright so this is the main house and over here is the shed"
He paused as he opened the big doors, revealing the tractor. "And because walking is boring, we have this beauty", he said and tried to lean against the side of it elegantly, but instead he missed it by a few inches, falling to the side. He blushed as Karl laughed. "If that's your laugh I'd gladly make a fool of myself all summer", Sapnap said and now it was Karls turn to blush.
They got on the tractor and with ease that only came from doing this all his life Sapnap drove them around, navigating the whole ranch without a second thought.
"And here we have the barn, we have the cows and horses in here and to the left is the meadow for the horses and the other side is for the cows.", Sapnap said and then pointed towards the cow meadow, "Two of them are out right now over there"
Karl leaned forward to look and smiled when he saw a cow with her calf. "That's mama Luise and her little girl Suzie", Sapnap said and smiled at Karl, who still looked at the cows. "They are so cute"
"You wanna see them up close?", Sapnap asked and Karl looked at him excited. "Can we?" "Of course, come with me", Sapnap said and got off the tractor, reaching around Karls waist to help him down as well.
Gently he sat him down and Karl blushed when they were that close for a second.
Sapnap was handsome and kind and fun, a real catch in Karls book and the subtle flirting Sapnap had shot his way were more then flattering.
Together they walked over to the meadow and Sapnap quickly pushed himself over the fence, helping Karl to climb over it as well.
They walked up to the cows and Sapnap reached out to Luise, patting her.
"Hey there, mama. You wanna show us your baby?", Sapnap asked and as if she understood, she stepped to the side and nudged her calf gently. Karl a few steps behind Sapnap was in awe, watched as Sapnap patted the baby calf as well, before turning to him.
He reached for Karls hand and placed it on the snout of Luise. "This is Karl, he's a nice boy from the city. So be gentle", he said to her and she gave a little moo as if to agree.

Karl looked excited and with Sapnaps guidance he started patting her neck.
"She's a real nice lady. Just a bit picky with her men sometimes isn't that right Luise?", Sapnap said and Karl smiled.
"She has three baby daddies so far, cause non of them was good enough so far", Sapnap added and Karl gave her scratches behind the ears. "You just know your worth, don't you, Luise?", he said and Sapnap smiled. He really was a sweetheart.
A few days past and on this morning Karl sat on the front porch, drinking a morning coffee, when Sapnap walked up carrying a little lamb. He gently sat it down on the front lawn, before sprinting inside.
"What's wrong?", Karl asked as he came back out and Sapnap looked a bit down, as he sat down with the lamb. "It's mama died last night, so the little guy needs someone to take care of him now", he said and fed the lamb from a bottle. "Oh no", Karl sat, sitting down next to Sapnap. By now he knew how much Sapnap loved all the animals they had around here and a loss like this must've hurt him a lot. Gently Karl hugged him and said: "I'm sorry" "It's not your fault, that's just how life works", Sapnap replied and gave him a sad smile, "I just wish she could've seen this little fella grow up. My little Annie."
He pressed his lips together and Karl saw how he was fighting with the tears.
"She's in a better place now", he assured him and Sapnap nodded. "I remember when she was a little lamb, the first animal my parents ever let me take care of. It's a shame she had to go so soon, she almost made it a full ten years", he said and a tear rolled down his cheek. Karl gently wiped it away, hugged him again a little tighter as they watched the little lamb drink the milk Sapnap had gotten from inside the house.
"It's okay, you can cry", Karl whispered to him, "I won't judge you for it, I understand"
Sapnap finished feeding the baby, felt how it curled up in his lap and then finally a soft sob was pulled from his lips.
He hugged Karl back and whispered: "She was my best friend, the only one who was always there to play when the kids at school wouldn't let me hang out with them. She was always there for me and now I wasn't there for her." "You are there for her, you're taking care of her baby now that she can't anymore and I bet she is very grateful for that.", Karl replied and gently ran his fingers through Sapnaps hair, after taking his hat off and putting it on the grass beside them, "You're honoring her in the most beautiful way, by looking after her pride and joy"
"Thank you for not thinking that I'm crazy", Sapnap mumbled, "Other people usually think it's just an animal, but they can be so much more. Annie was so much more."
"You wanna tell me more about her?", Karl asked and with a sad smile Sapnap started telling him stories of how they used to run over the meadow and how he trained her to play hide and seek and how he fell asleep in the barn as a child after taking care of her.
Karl was almost crying by the end as well, understanding how deep Sapnaps connection to her was and how deeply he felt. How much love his heart had to give.
He fell in love even more, this time with his vulnerable side instead of the funny and charming one. Carefully he loosed the hug, reached for Sapnaps cheeks and wiped the tears off. "You're so incredible", he then said softly and watched as Sapnaps look grew fond of him. "And you're gorgeous beyond measure, from the inside and out", he replied and suddenly the lamb made a quiet noise and the little bell on it's collar jingled.
"You're great too Mickey", Sapnap mumbled and both him and Karl smiled.
Later that day Sapnap found Karl with the lamb, cuddling on the lawn and he was sure, never had he seen anything more adorable then this. This was what he wanted to have for the rest of his life. Sweet surprises whenever he saw Karl.
On the next morning he ventured out to one of the fields, before anyone else was awake and started picking a bunch of flowers, tying them together with strands of hay. It wasn't the most perfect thing, but it was made with genuine intention and how he had gotten to know Karl, he would be overjoyed even without it being a hundred percent perfect.
He walked back to the house and just opened the door when Karl came down the stairs in his pajamas, sleepy and tired.
Sapnap couldn't help but smile, took off his hat and held Karl the flowers.
"Thank you, for yesterday and for being so, just absolutely, perfect.", he said, sheepishly looking at Karl, who returned his gaze with surprise.
He took the flowers, looked at them and smiled. "Did you pick these yourself?" "Yes, I thought you might enjoy that" "Sapnap", Karl sighed with a smile, "It's perfect. Thank you"
Karl looked at him fondly, flattered and happy. "I- I like you a lot.", Sapnap quickly confessed, "In the most romantic way you can imagine. I actually liked you since I first laid eyes on you"
Karl blushed and held the flowers a little closer to his chest. "I like you a lot too, very, very romantically.", he replied and smiled at him. Sapnap blushed and smiled.
"Really?" "Yes", Karl said and nodded, before hugged him and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.
