Chapter 1349: Garden of Myriad Flowers ⑪
As I was sitting alongside Rosemary-san as we looked at the flower garden, Rosemary-san suddenly started to sing calmly. I guessed that she remembered our earlier conversation and decided to sing.
I had thought of this back in the Harmonic Symphony, Rosemary-san is a really good singer. And this time, she wasn’t trying to make her voice as imposing as at the Harmonic Symphony, but in a rather gentle voice brimming with tenderness.
As her clear, beautiful voice echoed through the flower garden, I closed my eyes and listened. It’s a song that has the atmosphere of a folk song, and I feel like it’s suitable for singing in a flower garden.
The gentle sound of the singing voice, the fragrance of the flower garden, the gentle breeze around us, and her song that has a moderately long rhythm gradually make me feel a little a little sleepy.
Since Rosemary-san is singing, I think I should properly listen, but the gentle melody, which sounds like a lullaby, is making my consciousness drift away.
I tried to strain my eyes open, trying to stay awake, but at that moment, my body was suddenly pulled to the side. Unable to resist the force that pulled me, I fell onto my side, and my head exquisitely rested on Rosemary-san’s lap.
Eh? What’s going on!? Our bodies were quite close to each other just a moment ago, but I fell to the side and was suddenly laying my head on her lap?
Moreover, when I looked up to Rosemary-san’s face, wondering what her intentions were, she just smiled slightly as she sang, before putting her hand over my eyes.
As she seemed to tell me it was okay to go to sleep, with the gentle echoes of her singing, her warm hands covering my eyes, and the scent of roses drifting from Rosemary-san…… Once I ascertained it was okay to go to sleep, irresistible drowsiness overtook me.

Eventually, feeling the soft warmth under my head, I went straight to sleep.
After confirming that Kaito was completely asleep, Rosemary-san stopped singing.
[……He had been going along with my selfishness today, so he must have been tired huh? I was so happy that I inadvertently got excited…… I need to reflect on this.]
Originally, she had only planned to leisurely talk with Kaito over a cup of tea and entertain him as thanks for all the help he had given her. However, as she had received some nice tea cups as a gift, things didn’t go quite as she planned right from the start.
The same thing happened when she showed him around the art exhibits in her basement. She was so happy that he was interested in her favorite things that she explained them to him in detail.
[Perhaps, it may have been because I’m not used to talking so much, but I tend to talk too much to people I feel comfortable with.]
Rosemary has an extreme fear of strangers and has few people she can talk to on a regular basis, so the number of people she’s close to is quite small. And thus, around those few people she’s close to…… around Camellia and Kaito, she tended to talk a lot.
Naturally, Camellia and Kaito themselves don’t mind, but for Rosemary herself, there were many things she felt uneasy about, wondering about things like if she was talking too much.
And her behavior was also proof that even though she hadn’t spent much time with him yet, she trusted Kaito.
[I wonder if I was being forceful in having him paint? Kaito-kun was kind and seemed to enjoy it, but he was quite nervous at first…… I suppose my desire to share what I like with my close friends is a bit too much.]

She really enjoyed the time she spent painting with Kaito, as she felt like time flew by so quickly. Perhaps it was because their personalities that made them compatible, or perhaps because of the fact that, unusually for the shy Rosemary, Kaito was someone she finds very easy to talk to, Rosemary felt no stress at all when she was with him.
After gently stroking Kaito’s head as he sleeps on her lap, Rosemary looked at the flower garden spreading out around her.
[The garden somehow looks more beautiful today than usual…… Fufu, I guess that’s thanks to Kaito-kun.]
As she said this with a smile, the expression on Rosemary’s face was truly gentle and joyful.
Serious-senpai : [……Haahhh…… Haahhhh…… I- It’s finally over…… The sugar season has finally ended!]
? ? ? : (……I guess the sugar season is gonna be prolonged huh?)

Knight’s Fate: Knight and Princess
When war finally ended, the Arcadians sought retribution from the nightmares they had suffered from demonkind. A noble Princess had taken her mother's mantle in order to uphold peace between the two races so humanity could co-exist with their fellow demons in a kingdom without strife, but war paved the road to peace in blood and such path is but a fragile thread awaiting to be ignited by the flames of hatred. Another great war awaits, but will she be able to avert it?Second iteration of the Knight's Fate saga chronologically speaking. Yes I'm starting from the second because the first was an utter failure when I tried to write it, it just didn't fit the mood of a fantasy novel unlike this one. Though don't worry this doesn't mean you can't enjoy this one before I write the first. This is the first story I've actually published so I appreciate any feedback, be it good or bad just let me know what you think.
