《Judah Judas Adventures》Chapter 49 - Controlling a vampire cannot be that hard, right?

Derek and I look at each other for a few moments, but Derek decides to tell me when he sees Floyd being taken out of the tent by two other people, who I think are good friends of his and he is probably transporting to the rest tent where he will properly be healed by qualified wizards and doctors. Derek looked at that guy and told me.
"Did you do it?"
"Most likely the knight I work for," I say to him being quite shy because this man probably knows me much better than Uncle Big Gus and Aunt Emily.
"Oh. I see... Well. Today we will have your first training to control your vampire spell. Are you in?"
"Yes," I say to Derek which turns around and goes somewhere or most likely to the terrain where we are going to train my vampire spell. "Follow me to the training zone."
"Alright."
I'm following Derek, who will take me to the training area. We walk among a few tents where there are a lot of people sleeping or others who decide to spend a white night and play poker, with some wooden dice or drink that yellow drink and smoke a tube of parchment used in some kind of orange grass or something like that.
After a few minutes, we reach the same location where I will practice my spell called "So No Chi Sadame" because this spell can be controlled but to do that you need to train hard. I want to control this spell for many reasons, but the main one will probably be to use it if things get very serious.
"We are here." says Derek stopping and turning around to me. "Your first lesson is to use the spell to me."
"Wait! I can use the spell on other peoples?" I ask Derek because I had no idea the vampire spell could be that powerful.
"Yes. But as a warning, if you ever use that spell on anybody, use on one of your teammates, not enemies. It will not turn good. "
"I understand." I say to Derek and takes off my wand and aim at him. "So No Chi Sadame!"
A ray of light comes out of the top of my wand and goes to Derek, who was standing still and waiting to be hit by this ray to make him transform into a vampire to show me how this spell works and how it can be controlled. The ray of light from my wand hits Derek in the chest, and he begins to fall to his knees and both hands on the ground. I notice how the spell works and it's really painful, but Derek didn't scream or make a sound while the spell was working. Derek's body starts to grow a few inches, then his lilac wings begin to grow behind him, causing his fighter close to break at the back since those wings began to grow. I noticed that Derek's face also began to undergo major changes, his eyes become light red, four vampire fangs grow in his mouth, his skin starts to turn a light red, and his hair is white and caught in a coke begins to disappear as if by magic. As long as this transformation had taken place, I was wondering one thing, how can this transformation due to vampire spells affect Derek who is also a kind of vampire? I'm going to have to ask him that after the training.

In a few moments, Derek gets to his feet, looks at me, then tells me that he has a completely different voice than before.
"Good job, Judah! Now I want you to use the spell to you."
"A-Are you sure?" I ask Derek.
"Yes. If anything bad is going to happen, I will stop you. But first, when are you using that spell, try to speak with your vampire interior."
"With whom?"
"When you use that spell, there is a vampire in your interior who will control your moves, try and talk to him by using your mind. It will not be hard and not easy at the same time."
"Alright... I'll try to do it, master."
I point my wand at my chest, then say out loud "So No Chi Sadame!", A ray of light pierces my chest and knocks me to the ground. When I fell to the ground, I didn't see anything, but I remembered Derek's words and tried to contact that vampire inside me. "Hey, Vampire! Where are you?" I say to myself, and after a few moments, I hear something from nowhere.
"Oi! You have finally contacted me, Judah?"
"W-Where are you?" I ask myself.
"In your mind, Judah."
"I know you are in my mind, but where exactly."
"In your brain... At your feet... At your hands... I am everywhere in your body when you use that spell on you. But unfortunately, I cannot let you control my spell. "
"Why?"
"You are not ready yet... See you later."
And after he said that, I began to return to reality and I was just as I was before I used this spell on myself. I look around and see Derek, who is in the same position as he was and did not move a finger. I have no idea how long the transformation I had lasted, but it had certainly been a shorter one than the last two transformations.
"... What happened?"
"Nothing... You just tried to attack me for three minutes and then you came back at your body." says Derek not being surprised and not disappointed in me.
"I-I talked with that Vampire." I say going closer to Derek. "He just said I am not ready to control his spell."

"Do not tell? Then he's right, a child your age can't fully cast such a spell, but it's a good start anyway because you know certain spells ... I think it would be a good idea to stick to small spells for now, such as an attack, healing, defence or summoning. I think that suits you best."
"Yes... I will remain at those spells."
Derek looks at me intently, then asks if I have a spell book, and I answer that I have one and hand it to the one I had in my backpack when I left my tent to have dinner with Knight Fiona. Derek looks fascinated at the pages of that book, he looks at me curiously, and asks me a question with a rather harsh accent.
"Where did you get that?"
"At a building from Kingdom of Romania who sells magic stuff." I say to Derek.
"Which name has the building ?"
" I did not say a name there, but I saw a hundred of different spell books, staffs, wands and there was an old lady who sells those kinds of stuff."
"Hmm... Do you know who made this book? It was my first teacher. This spell book was one of his hundreds who got published in libraries or any magic store... How much you take from this one?"
"Um... Somewhere at five golds."
"Five golds?" asks Derek feeling shocked and disgusted at that price I told him. "Five golds for a book made by one of the most brilliant wizards in the entire world... That lady must've been drunk when she sold you this book."
Derek hands my book back to me, and he says to me.
"Even if I can't train you to control that vampire, I could train you to use a few spells from there. " he points to the book of spells I hold in my hand. "How about this offer, kid? Do you want to train in other spells instead of that vampire one?"
"... Yes, master." I say to Derek and after that, both smiled and looked at each other for a few moments.
I do not know what Derek was thinking but after he looked at me for a while he told me.
"Your parents must be round for what you have become."
"... Yeah." I say to Derek feeling quite unsure if they wanted from me to become a warrior or something else, but this unsure feeling disappears in a matter of seconds after both of us go back to their places.
This training was short, but I don't mind that. At least, I could learn something about the spells and the old lady who sold this spell book to me a few weeks ago. I walk slowly past the tents where people are snoring, so as not to wake them from their sleep, their only good sleep because tomorrow they will surely attack the enemies soon. I pass three other tents, turn the corner to the left, and when I get to my tent, I hear a sort of growl up close. I look around, scared, and goosebumps. I have no idea who made that growl, but it's coming close. I hear another wolf growl and decide to look back, and what was behind was Fiona who is in her total vewolf shape and ready to attack.
"Ah, shit!" I say before Fiona was about to jump on me with her vewolf claws.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.

Though it has magic, it is set far into the future where technology reigns, and magic itself is just a finely-tuned science. How will our hero survive in a galaxy that looks down upon humans? One where his race, which once reigned supreme, is treated like trash along the roadside. Will he, with his diverse crew, be able to save the galaxy while fixing the hostility between the races?
