The road has always been open,

For those who can see it,

There has always been a path,

To those with a key,

The rules of the road,

They have been the same,

Since time immemorial,

Sometimes this path is for the self,

Sometimes this path is generous,

It teases you,

With wrong questions,

Impossible roads,

Some don't even protect their feet,

Sometimes the weather is always,

Always tolerable,

Maybe its not a path,

Maybe it’s a setting,

Maybe it’s a fiber wire,

Crossing an ocean,

Is it a click of the button?

Or a path of sword and flames,

Will they show you where to strike,

Or will the question,

Weigh you down,

Till you can’t,

Lift your hand.

“A penny for the jester.” A man says.

“A meal.” Another says.

“Two cigarettes for the gatekeeper.”

“Three joints for the road ahead.”

“A pirated copy of Alice in Wonderland. For the dangers ahead.”
