《Old Friends (K/DA x male Reader)》Chapter 19

Y/N's POV:
I'm sitting in the C-17 with the rest of my team, we're basically are ready to go, but we're still waiting for nick. The guy should really get his ass moving, Jason's patience is running out, he's been pacing up and down the plane for minutes.
Jason: Where the hell is he?
Y/N: Jason relax, I'm sure he'll be here any minute.
Jason: We don't have time for this, command is already getting on my nerves because they want this mission done and now I have to wait for one of my shooters on the airstrip because he can't get his dick out of his girlfriend.
I understand why he's so pissed, everything the team falls back on Delta 1 if nick fucks up Jason is going to hang for it. As Delta 2 it's my job to keep such worries off his back, looks like I fucked that up today.
Y/N: He told me that he is hurrying and he knows how important this mission is, he is probably stuck in traffic somewhere.
Jason doesn't answer anymore and just looks at me annoyed. 2 minutes later I hear Clay saying something, Clay is the newest in our team he is a bit inexperienced at least for seal standards but he is a great soldier.
Clay: There he is.
I turn to the direction Clay is calling and see Nick running up the ramp with his bags. As soon as he's inside, he straps his bags to the others and walks over to Jason to apologize. Me and the rest of the team sit down while the flight crew closes the ramp.
I can't hear what they're saying, but it's not hard to see that Jason isn't necessarily being nice to him. This goes on for a few minutes until nick sits down next to me.
Y/N: Idiot.
Nick: ...Yeah I know.

The next few hours are relatively quiet, with Nick and the rest of the team quickly falling asleep while Jason and I work out the plan for our mission.
Jason: Go wake up the others, jump off is in one hour.
Y/N: Okay.
I go to wake up the others and a few minutes later we are all standing together at a map of our target as Jason explains our mission to the team.
Jason: We have information that the North Koreans are planning to sell a nuclear warhead to an unknown terrorist group, the warhead is currently stored on a ship one mile off the coast. We will drop off into the jungle near the coast and stay there until we raid the ship in three days time, Y/n will now explain the exact plan of the raid.
The team turns to me and I lean against the table where the map is lying.
Y/N: In two days, once the sun has set, we will dive to the ship and use the rope ladder to get on the ship undetected. While Jason and Clay shut down the engine and radio, the rest of the team comes with me, we will locate the warhead, remove the radioactive material and destroy the warhead. One hour later we will be picked up by a CIA contact with a fishing boat and taken across the border where a Navy U-boat is waiting to take us to Japan from there the C-17 will take us back home.
As I explain the operation, everyone listens intently. Nothing is allowed to go wrong on this mission, if one of us is caught and we are identified as Americans, it could trigger a war with North Korea, no one is allowed to know that we were ever there.
Y/N: Any questions?
Two days later:
3rd POV:
A Korean soldier is running guard on a beach to the right of him is the ocean and to the left of him is dense jungle. Just as he hears a noise from the jungle, however, he is distracted by a radio message.

A/N: Don't leave me hanging google translator. (but I don't have very high hopes)
Just as the soldier finished this sentence he already had a bullet in the back of his head. As soon as his dead body hits the ground, 6 soldiers come out of the jungle.
Jason: Clay get that body away from here.
Clay nods and drags the dead soldier into the jungle. Y/N takes a pair of binoculars out of his pocket and looks out to the ocean, trying to find their target.
Jason: Talk to me two.
Y/N: jackpot, right where we suspected it would be.
Jason: Perfect.
Y/N puts away his binoculars while Jason reports to command. The team gets into the water and swims to their target, as they arrive nick attaches the rope ladder as quietly as possible to the side of the ship. Y/N carefully climbs the ladder, at the top he hears two guards talking to each other, he takes out his pistol and carefully peers over the edge. As soon as he sees the two soldiers, he shoots them both in the head before they are able to react.
Y/N: Safe.
While the others are climbing up the ladder, Y/N makes sure that no one is coming.
Jason: Clay with me, Y/N get too that warhead.
Y/N: Roger.
Jason and Clay head toward the control room while Y/N and the other three advance to the cargo hold. Along the way, they encounter a few enemies but slowly make their way up the deck.
After searching for a few minutes, they find the warhead. The four of them carefully secure the room before heading to the warhead.
Y/N: Do your think Nick.
Nick: Okay.
Nick quickly starts working on the warhead while Y/N and the others keep him safe. It doesn't take long until a radio signal from Jason comes in.
Jason: Control room secured, communication cut off. Status?
Y/N: Target located and secured, Delta-3 is working on it.
Jason: understood, the clock for the exfiltration is ticking hurry up.
It takes Nick a few more minutes to get ready, he slowly puts the radioactive material into a secure bag and hangs the bag around his shoulder. The four are on their way to the exit when suddenly an enemy comes running through the door and shoots at Y/N with his pistol.
He falls to the ground in pain while Nick immediately shoots the enemy in the head before running to Y/N.
Nick: Delta-3 to all, Delta-2 down, I repeat man down.
Jason: On our way.
Nick tries to pull off Y/N's bulletproof vest in a panic while Y/N is breathing heavily.
Y/N: Nick calm down I'm fine he just hit the vest.
Nick: your sure?
Y/N: yeah, help me up.
Y/N reaches for nick's hand and nick pulls him up. Y/N sits down on a box next to him while taking a deep breath. A few seconds later Jason and Clay run through the door, Jason immediately goes to Y/N and puts his arm on Y/N's shoulder.
Jason: you okay?
Y/N: Yeah everything's fine, just got some on the vest. Let's get out of here.
Jason turns to nick.
Jason: Are you done?
Nick: Yes material secured and explosive set.
Jason: Okay. Nick help Y/N, let's get out of this country.
A/N: Sorry that the chapter is a bit shorter and doesn't really add much to the story i just wanted to try to make a chapter with complete focus on Y/N's job.

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
