《Summer Anarchy (Permanent Hiatus)》04 - Cali Trip

***
It's a regular Tuesday night when Class 1-A suggest it.
Summer is coming and they have a little over 3 weeks of a break before they have to head to training camp. Izuku Midoriya is a silent, unspoken thought that no one has forgotten. Almost taboo. A simple statement with his name is enough to send Bakugo into a frenzy of anger.
Denki is the only one who brings him up casually, oftentimes while on the phone with Shinso. He makes sure to not be around others when he's on a call with Izuku. They haven't seen him for a little over 10 months.
Regardless, Mina is the one who suggests it. She scrolls through her social media with bored eyes and a tight smile when she comes across a post that has her jumping in her seat. She thursts the phone in Sero's face and grins broadly.
"Let's go on a trip to L.A!"
It's ridiculous at first utterance. So much so that Jiro, who sits from across them, snorts audibly.
"Don't shit with me, L.A?"
Mina's smile doesn't dim, "we're heroes in training, we deserve a break before the gruelling summer camp Aizawa's going to put us through."
Sero hums, "I guess we can ask, no promises though."
It really is a nothing statement. So much so that it's forgotten about entirely for the rest of the school week. Yet, that Saturday, she storms into the common room, hopping in one place and waving her arms around enthusiastically.
"We can go, we got permission to go!"
Bakugo glares at her from across the couch, where Uraraka cuddles into his sides, ignoring how uncomfortable Bakugo's making it with the way he constantly shifts. No one questions how they get together two weeks after Izuku leaves, but Denki does glare at them whenever he passes them by.
Bakugo almost confronted him once, but the name of Izuku on the tip of his tongue as he slipped into his room kept him frozen in place.
"Go where?" Momo asks from her place in the kitchen, boiling tea.
Shoto stares at his phone with a pinched expression, "Endeavour's blowing up my phone about a trip to Los Angeles and how it won't do anything for my training."
Mina's grin widens.
"Yup! Aizawa got Nezu to allow us to after I practically begged him, we leave in a week!"
"Holy shit, seriously!" Sero exclaims, propping himself off his elbows, "we're going to America."
"For two weeks sir, we have a whole hotel booked and everything, but we'll be sharing the rooms in pairs. Girls and guys separated is the only requirement, so one guy will be alone."
"Damn," Mineta mumbles, pouting.
At that moment, Denki walks into the room, laughing into his phone. He ignores everyone, walking over to the fridge and talking animatedly as he grabs a can of soda and throws it in the air.
"Holy shit he said yes," he chuckles, oblivious to the pointed stares sent his way, "damn really? Tell your dad I say I love him."
He stops at the end of the hall, eyes still following him, and pulls his phone off his ear. He turns around and his smile drops.
"No one's rooming alone" his voice is stoic, the way it's been almost always with his classmates since Izuku left, "I already know about the trip and Aizawa booked another room for me and my partner."
"Partner?" Mina mumbles, "you have a partner?"

"Wait how is it fair that you get to room with a chick?" Mineta wrinkles his nose, disgruntled, "that's so unfair."
"Boyfriend," Denki calls over his shoulder before walking off.
From his seat on the couch, Kirishima frowns.
"He never told us he was dating anyone."
"He hasn't spoken to us in months," Tsu comments, "what made you think he'd tell us?|
No one says anything at that.
"Anyways, everyone text me their roommate by the end of today. There'll be no chaperones or anything, but Aizawa demanded nightly photos with the roommate list we're going to give him. He doesn't want anyone getting pregnant along the trip."
She receives nods and noises of confirmation and walks away with a large smile on her face.
The next morning, the roommate list is handed to Aizawa, printed neatly by their class rep.
She searches for sightings and things to do with electric fingers and warm blood.
Los Angeles, here we come.

Let Izuku be the first to say, they (because he's a demi-boy who goes by he/they now, get it right) do not plan things well. In fact, no one in his friend group plans anything well. They're simply a bunch of spontaneous teenagers with mental health issues and unresolved trauma who live for the adrenaline rush.
So really, outlandish suggestions are not all that surprising. One morning Ai walked in with a hand on their hair and a wide smile and said, "let's work at a strip club," and that night Ai, Izuku, and Zeke were dancing around poles as dirty men with scruffy beards and too much money threw dollars at them.
Xael was especially happy with his two partners that night.
So yes, Izuku and they're friends are impulsive to the point where it borderlines (it exceeds borderline) dangerous.
Still, even sometimes he's shocked by the dumb shit that comes out of their friends (and their) mouth.
It is Aviva who suggests it, bouncing in her seat eagerly as Ezra serves them breakfast. They're in Izuku's apartment, after spending the night, and summer starts this Friday. They've yet to make any plans, not that they were in a hurry, and were lounging around lazily on a Sunday afternoon.
"Let's go to LA," she squeaks just as Ezra takes a seat on the couch. The sun is hot, and Izuku really isn't sure if 2 pm is a decent time to have 'breakfast' but he could care little as he takes an eager bite out of the pancake before him.
"W-what?" He mumbles around a mouthful of food, ignoring the look of distaste Valeria shoots them.
"Let's go to LA. I can book us first-class tickets and four hotel rooms with some of mommy and daddy's hush money. It'll be fun, and none of you has ever been."
Izuku swallows before asking, "why LA?"
"Why not?"
Izuku can't exactly argue with that.
Ezra hums, "think we can run into any celebrities?"
Xael snorts, "please let god be in my favour and have us run into some conservative still wearing a 'make America great again' hat. I will knock their teeth in, gender be damned."
"You really said equality babe," Zeke snorts.
"Okay but deadass let's do it," Aviva takes her phone out and scrolls through it, "I can book us flights for next Friday right now."
"Fuck plane rides," Ai mutters from their side, smirking devilishly, "I say this shit calls for a fucking road trip."

Izuku shoots up, 'fuck yeah!"
"After breakfast," Val raises an eyebrow, "we deal with this after we get food in our system."
Ezekial hums, "food is above all."
"Amen."

roadtrips >>> flights
When 1-A (now 2-A w/ summer) walk into the hotel, it's not with helping bounds of excitement and energy. After a painfully long flight with multiple stops, sitting in an uncomfortable seat and trying to drown out the horrible noise of a screaming baby, toddlers kicking their seats and unabashed attendants who were way too loud, they all want to crash and burn.
Denki, who speaks fluent English (much to everyone's surprise) walks to the counter with a sluggish smile, Shinso at his tail.
(Everyone was shocked when the purple-haired insomniac climbed the bus that took them to the airport but kept quiet when he raised an eyebrow, daring them to question it.)
"Hello," he greets the employee, "we have ten rooms booked underneath Shota Aizawa-Yamada for two weeks."
The employee nods enthusiastically, her ponytail bobbing s she typed rapidly into the computer.
"Here you are, from rooms 32-42 on the third floor," she pulls open a drawer and fishes out a bunch of keys, laying them on the counter," here are your keys. Feel free to ask for help from our bell boys if you need it," she nods to where three men sit comfortably on chairs, "and I hope you have a wonderful stay. All the information you need to know about the hotel is written on the brochure in every bedroom, but if you have any complaints or queries, feel free to ring the counter or come downstairs and ask whoever is on the job."
"Much appreciated," he nods, bowing lightly before grabbing one of the keys and ushering Shinso. 1-A follow him, saying their thanks to the employee before following Denki. They refuse the help of the bell boys, all having carried relatively small suitcases for the short period of time they were going to be there.
(Shoji helped Mina, Urarak and Momo with their suitcases, seeing as they went a little overboard. Mineta wailed about his own, but no one paid mind.)
They make it to their respective rooms with little problem, slumping against the comfortable beds as soon as possible. It was only 6, and the buffet doesn't close until 12, so they had time to relax.
***
"You're a fucking idiot," Ai grumbles, dragging their suitcase across the marble floors. The sun is well and gone, the moon hanging high. They park their van in the hotel's parking lot situated downstairs and drag themselves to the counter.
It was nearly a quarter to 11 and everyone was hungry. Chips, soda and packaged chocolate chip cookies were not filling.
"Hello," Aviva walks up the counter and smiles at the girl, "four rooms booked under the name Lucious King."
The employee nods in conformation after playing with her laptop and hands Aviva four separate keys.
"Room 28-32 on the third floor. All the information you need to know about the hotel is written on the brochure in every bedroom, but if you have any complaints or queries, feel free to ring the counter or come downstairs and ask whoever is on the job," she drowns in what was obviously a practised statement.
Ai walks up with purposeful steps, "are the buffets open?"
The girl nods, "up until 12. After that only room-service is available."
They beam, "thanks babes," they turn to their friends, ignoring the blush the blossomed on the employee's cheeks, "let's get the fuck to our rooms and to the fucking buffet before I eat my goddamn toe."
Ezra laughs, "what a way with words."
Ai says nothing as they take a random key and walk off. Izuku, Xee and Zeke are the last to get their keys before they step into the large elevator.
They step into their rooms, throwing their suitcases and backpacks messily before stepping out just as quickly.
"Food," Aviva smiles before skipping off. Valeria chuckles and easily matches her pace with her towering height.
It's a quiet walk, everyone excited to be in a different place with so much to do.
It's crushed, of course, when someone aggressively pushes the door to the buffet just seconds from whacking Aviva in the nose.
They jump back with a squeak, "what the-
"-fuck?!" Izuku cuts her off, stepping forward and squinting just to make sure his eyes aren't playing a trick on them.
Because before him, in all of his disgusting glory, is Katsuk Bakugo, the rest of 2-A behind him.
The blonde freezes, "Deku?!"
Izuku's expression turns icy and his partners quickly walk up next to him.
"Fucking move you're blocking the entrance."
Katsuki gapes, "what-"
Izuku places a hand to his shoulder and smirks as Katsuki's shuts his mouth with an audible click, wincing and flinching away.
"Good, don't fucking talk to me ever," Izuku hums before walking off, shoving away the 2-A students. His friends follow indifferently, used to Izuu's cold nature and abrasive attitude.
They can ask him about it after they eat.

: sorry for such slow updates! I started an account on AO3 and I've been posting there more often so...check it out if you like my writing I guess. (I write about TodoDeku mainly). It's under the username 'dork_asaurus'. Anyways, Izuku finally runs into 2-A. I have no idea where the story is going to go from here, but I'm excited to see how I write it! Hope you enjoyed reading! Heads up, when class 1-A speaks in the first chapter, it is Japanese, but I don't feel like underlining and italicising the words. I will be doing that in future chapters do, where language switch will be a thing (tho 1-A will mainly talk English seeing as they're in Cali.)

Essence Eater (A Super Progression Fantasy)
Gods. Demons. Aliens. Superheroes. Supervillains.Consume them all for power. Eighty years have passed since WW2, when Prime took to the skies and ended the war. No one knows what gave him his power, or what birthed the wave of supers that came after. Some claimed the nuclear bombs dropped in Japan cracked the barrier between Universes, allowing alien energies to enter the dimension. Others believed the wars finally triggered what humanity needed to reach a new stage of evolution. Daniel Das lives with his uncle in post-super London, the League of Hero's primary hub. He's spent all of his twenty-one years pushing himself, training in martial arts and studying supers, hoping he'll awaken his metagene and gain super powers. The cut-off age is close, but he hasn't yet awakened superpowers. Meanwhile, the League is steadily losing parts of the city to the growing villain factions. Daniel's uncle wishes to keep him away from the world of supers, but with the hot zones closing in, that's easier said than done. There are villains selling unregulated superpowers to gangs and dark days are on the horizon. Despite his limitations, there is no stopping Daniel. He is ravenous for power. If needed, he will ally with demons if they give him the power to protect his family and home. -------------------------------- This world building is heavily inspired by Worm and The Boys. It features dark, realistic storylines, corporation-funded heroes, and villains who aren't necessarily bad guys. The protagonist's powerset involves the crowd-favourite consuming enemies for power trope, too. The GameLit/LitRPG elements are super light and takes a while to kick in. The powercreep is slow as well since I don't enjoy overpowered protagonists. Chapters everyday until book 1 is complete. The schedule will change once I reach that point.

Curiosity Killed The Imp
A/N: On hiatus (higher priority). The story is planned out but I need to do some rewriting for clarity and cohesiviness. Still very interested in the story though. Aeris is a place of endless conflict. Bloody evolution is the way forward, and the closed fist is the path given. Life is a luxury granted only to the strong. In a tiny corner, at the edge of a volcanic land, is born an imp. An imp no different from any other save one thing. An anomaly in its code. A blip in its creation. For unlike other imps, this one was born…curious. Book Cover by Betty Elgyn: https://www.deviantart.com/bettyelgyn

Soul Core Online
Soul Core Online was a game that few people were interested in until after it was released, due to its odd way of handling character growth but this soon changed as people started to realise just how different this game was. Unlike many of its predecessors the NPCs in Soul Core Online acted in a way that was indistinguishable from real people and the world felt alive because of this instead of the empty and sterile cities we had come to expect, even walking down the street could give you insights to how these people lived. In my case this was the world that I had always wanted to visit and I soon found myself embroiled in the constantly changing world that is Soul Core Online.
