y/n pov

i put the batter into the cupcake tray before sliding it into the oven and beginning to clean up the kitchen. it really didn't take that long since i cleaned as i went. but after finishing i sat down on the couch just in front of the kitchen.

"i dont want to celebrate my birthday anymore" i whispered admitting it out loud.

"why not babe" she said back in the same tone.

"nothing good ever happens on my birthday, im always miserable on my birthday and its not enjoyable for anyone. my parents always made a point to tell me i ruined their lives as soon as i was born" i vented looking at the clock seeing i had less than an hour until i was 16.

"y/n thats completely vaild. but you have to remember that it was their choice to have kids, to have you, so dont put that blame on yourself" dahlia spoke calmly. "and think about how different your life is now, your with completely different people. in a completely different chapter of your life"

after talking to dahlia and thinking it over we made an agreement to try the whole birthday thing one more time since what she said was true and things have been going good lately. (mhm) i mean apart from the whole 'i see you' thing.

20 minutes later i got the cupcakes out of the oven leaving them to cool until i hear a door open from down the hall rdj walks out in iron man pajamas with an eye mask on his head. he sees me then the cupcakes and tries to get past me to grab one.

however i fight of his flailing limbs "just oneeee" he whines. trying to reason with me. 

"nuh uh you ate my muffin this morning you dont get one of my cupcakes. you can wait till the morning. if they're not all eaten by then" i smirk as he rolls his eyes grabbing the water he originally went in here for and leaving.

not before sticking his tongue out at me though. by now the cakes are cooled enough so i ice two of them before writing tin can on the second one. i put everything away before grabbing my phone and birthday candle.

i knock on downeys door and when he opens it he smiles. "if it isnt my favourite olsen" he takes the cake kissing my forehead. i blushed at the name the cast keeps saying it. and i definitely dont hate it. but i know that no one but lizzie and scar acually know shes planning to adopt me.

"happy slightly early birthday" he smiled again before closing the door. 

3rd person pov

y/n walks up the stairs getting to her room and setting everything up. she grabs her lighter from the back of the drawer in her bedside table to light the candle she had put in the cake, setting it down after. 

propping her phone up against her suitcase (since she was sitting on the floor) she placed the clock on her laptop watching as it counts down the minutes. listening as music from dahlias room plays in the background.

...3...2...1

"happy birthday mi amor." dahlia says softly " i hope this one makes a difference"

"thanks dahls" y/n blows the candle out "happy fucking birthday to me" she whispered so dahlia couldn't hear. pulling out the candle and just kinda zoning out while sitting on the floor.

after a couple minutes dahlia said she has to go to sleep as her dad needs her help early in the morning. the other girl assured y/n she could call her if anything happened today still.

the brunette knew lizzie and the others would be there but she also knows there's some things y/n hasn't even told them.

"i love you y/n"

"i love you too dahlia"

with that their call ended and y/n said thank you to the twins who had also texted her happy birthday. as well as a couple other people she was friends with but they could wait till the morning.

y/n grabbed her laptop again clicking off the timer and going to netflix. her moods kinda eh so she went to horrors wanting to feel something a little different.

scrolling through for a while she finds one called the texas chainsaw massacre and decides it's entertaining enough.

clicking play y/n leans back in bed pulling the blanket up over her a bit more and peeling back the paper of the cupcake.
