《Nostalgic Gamer in a Cultivation World》Chapter 222: The Battle in the Mines (1)

The Mine of Chorak had the main entrance of a large cave in the mountain with a long winding tunnel. There were turns and stops all over the place, but Vile plotted to situate themselves in the largest mining area inside the tunnel.
The tunnels of the mines were strong and hard. Vile was confident that even if their serus cast spells, the mine would not fall.
In the large hall where the tunnel led two, Vile arranged a precise formation.
They prepared for the worse and were ready to attack Monks and Hunters who would charge in. While Vile and Songi were planning to attack Biron, the situation of them being on the defensive was much more advantageous.
The Mist had moved and followed Vile deep within the place.
Vile was slowly controlling the Mist, and through the Mist, he imbued his treachery and greed to command the Serus. Songi was also a person of great greed and wanted power and fame. With the two of them working together, the power of Vile increased by several folds resulting in him being able to command a platoon of serus.
Vile had arranged the Serus in a precise order that they could easily attack.
The Nightos were the first line of defense. Their Hell Music could confuse or kill a target by shooting a powerful sound attack. This wide-ranged attack was well suited for an enclosed area. Monks had Spirit, and if Tetsu or any of the stronger Monks joined in, the attacks of the other Seru would be focused on them. But Nightos used sound, and this sound will travel and attack all behind them. The tunnel was used to the advantage of this attack as everyone would be cramped together.
Behind the Nightos were the Theeders. These would be the main damage dealers and were ready to shoot out bolts of lightning.
Behind the Theeders was the stronger Lighting Seru of the game, the Viguro. They were several times stronger than the Theeder and much larger. They would use their powerful Thunder Break Attack, which would explode and damage the last remaining defenses of Dyne’s forces. And they would charge in once the front lines were weakened and use their dangerous claws to kill.
In this plan, they wouldn’t even need the strongest defenders. The Guard Scorpions was an overpowered minion that watched at the back of all the Seru forces. They all were standing beside Songi and looked at the team. In case Dyne would use his portal to jump through it, then these two would make quick work of any who dared to enter.
“How sure are you that they will head through this entrance? Aren’t their other entrances?”

“All on top of the mountain. Unless they know where they are, it will take them a while to look for it. Slimes aren’t fast-running monsters, especially on those steep cliffs up there. And besides… I could sense them rushing wildly toward this place. And that must be Dyne. He is provoking us and releasing his power and that of the Wild Arm! Such arrogance! Just as you said.”
Songi sneered.
“This will be the death of him. Let’s see how he breaks through this place.” Songi willed it, and the powers of darkness snuffed off the lights that lit around the cave. He presented himself in the path and moved closer to the Viguro, who were releasing sparks of electricity.
The serus all moved to the side and hid in the dark. With the power of the Mist, their presence disappeared.
“Even if that brat is a powerful Soul Cultivator, he won’t be able to sense these Serus!” Vile laughed.
Soon, a bright red flame could be seen at the far end of the tunnel. Dyne was wielding the Wild Arm. Behind him, the figures of several men wielding large shields could be seen hiding in the cover of darkness.
Dyne saw the straight path and Songi standing with two Viguros by his side.
“Just like in the game, I see.” Dyne smiled.
“Patriarch. It’s so nice to see you again. Did I break the laws by wearing this seru?”
“You mean, Vile? Isn’t he a Wild Arm?” Dyne smiled.
Vile laughed.
“Did you pester and torture that owl to give up my name?” Vile asked.
“No. Kokatorimon is right here.” Dyne revealed an egg. It looked like a Ra-Seru egg, but the energy it released was clearly that of a Wild Arm.
“What?!” Vile was stunned.
“Ifrit. Show yourself.” Dyne ordered, and the Ifrit’s soul avatar formed behind Dyne. It was large and stood nearly reaching the ceiling of the tunnel.
“What’s that?!” Vile was stunned.
Even Songi frowned. He could sense a terrifying power behind the strange apparition.
“Don’t be shocked. This man is a man of miracles. He is arrogant, but as you can see, his boasting is backed up with power.”
“I thank your praise, Songi.”
“So I’m guessing you want me to hand over my Wild Arm and these Serus to you?”
“Nah. I want to take them from you.” Dyne chuckled.
“Come and try! I see that you brought an army of Gobu Gobus. Were you scared of losing your precious monks and hunters? You Gobu Gobus! This isn’t your fight! Retreat!”
“Eh? They won’t. They are so amazed by my leadership skills that they will fight, and even death cannot stop them from serving me.” Dyne laughed.

“Then so be it! Come! Do your worst. Patriarch!”
“Shields!” Dyne ordered as the fire and the Ifrit disappeared, bringing the darkness back.
The sounds of unified marches could be heard, and Songi saw a wall of shield appearing behind Dyne right before he vanished in the darkness.
“He took the shields of the soldiers outside! He’s quite a cautious man!” Songi frowned.
Vile was also confused. The picture of caution did not match the arrogant description that Songi spoke of.
The sound of the footsteps grew louder and louder, and it approached the entrance of the wide-open space inside.
“Now!” Vile ordered, and the hidden Nightos were the first to move. It flew with great speed, and the cocoons that acted as propellers revealed the purple, one-eyed monster inside.
Songi concentrated. He poured out a massive amount of his mana pool and harnessed it to Vile.
The power of Vile empowered the Nightos to make their special Ra-Seru attack.
“Hell’s Music!”
“What?! Nightos?!” Dyne’s shocked voice could be heard.
The Nightos released their hells music, and a powerful sound wave shot right through the tunnel.
“NO! That’s wrong! Nightos can’t use Hell Music unless summoned by a Ra-seru!” Dyne’s shout could be heard at the back.
“Damn it! Retreat!”
“Chase and keep using Hell’s Music!” Vile ordered, and the Nightos rushed towards the entrance. All Nightos poured out their magic, and Songi began to munch on several mana recovery items as the mana was being drained of him.
There was a rumbling occurring behind the wall of shields, and Vile laughed.
“Nightos can either kill or confuse their targets with Hell’s Music! Those Gobu Gobus are probably fighting each other! Watch as the ranks fall!”
“Now! Kill!” Dyne suddenly ordered.
The shield wall collapsed as the skeletons in the front expertly opened the path, and several skeletons from the back jumped with great speed and strength.
“Skeletons?!” Vile and Songi were shocked.
SLASH! STAB! SLASH! STAB!
The sounds of the blades striking the Nightos were heard, and the screams of the Nightos followed as the terrifying sounds of Hell's Music ended.
They were wide open as they shot their Hells Music attack, and their vulnerable frames were easily wounded by these skeletons.
More skeletons rushed out and attacked the remaining Nightos.
“Hell’s Music doesn’t work on them?! I thought Hell’s Music could confuse them or kill them?!” Songi cursed.
“These skeletons don’t have ears to hear music, brains to be confused. And, plus, they’re already dead. Yohohoho.” Dyne mocked.
The Skeletons rushed out and began to attack the Nightos.
“Theeders!” Vile ordered, and the cave lit up with bright lights as Theeders prepared their attack.
“Wall Shield!” Dyne also ordered, and the skeletons retreated while the skeletons behind him made a wall of shield just as the skeletons joined the ranks.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Bolts of lightning were shot at the shields, and explosions occurred one after the other. The shields began to break, and the skeletons were falling back, but more arrived to cover the gap.
“Keep shooting! They only have so many shields!” Vile ordered.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Some of the Skeletons were being attacked as they burst into many pieces.
Then there was silence as the Theeders all finished their bombardment. The theeders began to charge up another round of attack.
“My turn! Ghost Drakes! Windhash!”
The skeletons charged out to the sides, and several Ghost drakes could be seen and charged out to the wide space and immediately shot several windhashes toward the Theeders.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
The powerful wind cuts struck the Theeders and caused them to stumble back, and they couldn’t shoot another round of attack. The skeletons charged toward the Theeders, and they stabbed the fallen ones.
“No! Viguros! Attack!”
The Viguros began to charge, but then a giant bright-orange fist tore through the dark.
“Zenoir!?” Songi was stunned.
The attacks of the Viguro shot at the flying fist, and the two powers collided.
BOOM!
The explosion shocked everyone, and both Serus and the undead were thrown back from the meeting of the two attacks.
The Zenoir began to disperse.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Several gunshots echoed out, and Songi reacted quickly. His shoulder cannon shot out three attacks as well.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
With extreme precision, the two bullets met in the air and created an explosion. One of Dark energy and the other of Brimstone.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
“Retreat!” Songi called to the Serus.
“On me!” Dyne called to his undead team.
As the dust settled, the two teams were standing on the opposite end of each other.
“Everyone! Prepare to fight! Behold! The wisdom of Doctor Willy!” Vile declared.
Two towering beasts jumped to the front, and the power of Fire and Lightning began to course throughout the Seru’s body.
The power was far stronger than what a Zenoir or a Viguro could release.
Dyne saw it and recognized the foe's form and was stunned.
“Witness the terror of-”
“Is that a Guard Scorpion?! AWESOME!” Dyne shouted in excitement before Vile could complete his sentence.
