"Kay Kay! Hey bookie." Chalynn waltzed into her cousins medium sized luxury apartment. Ever since she started doing hair full time she had been racking in the money. That and her boy friend just so happened to play for Jackson State, so he was payed as well.
"Hi Chy Chy. How you feelin?" She asked walking around the beauty chair to hug her cousin.
"I've never felt better. How you?" Chalynn released from the hug and sat down in the chair. She was getting her favorite braids, boho knotless. Kay Kay did them just right to where they lasted for two and a half months with out looking crazy.
"Girl I'm good. Just missing my man's." Kay Kay and her man had been going strong for about two years now. They had their ups and downs but they also loved each other so they made it work.
"I felt that. Oop here he go right now." Chalynn's phone rung and she picked it up. "Hey boo." She cheesed.
"Wassup pretty. How you living?" He asked staring at her face. It looked as though he was still in the end and was just getting up and she could hear it in his voice.
Ever since their date last week, they had either been staying up late talking on the phone, spending time together at Keisha's, taking walks in the park or simply going to grab food.
"Great. I'm here about to get my hair braided up. I'm tired of slicking it up into a damn bun. Plus, you asked me one too many times what I was about to do with it so it was time." Key chuckled groggily and shook his head Lay was paused for a second.
"Check yo cash app. Is that enough to get yo nails and toes done too." He asked stretching and sitting up.
"Boo, that might be a lil too much." Makayla's eyes widened as she saw him cash app her five hundred dollars. She tried to stay out the camera as much as possible.
"How you get there? You need me to swoop you when you done?" By now Key was in his bathroom turning on his faucet to do his morning routine.
"I ubered here, if you're available I should be done around one. I can send you the address." Key straight faced her in the camera.
"Don't do that shit no more. I'll be around there at one then. Bye Cha." Chalynn could barely say bye before he disconnected the call.
"He mad at yo ass." Makayla laughed starting to work on her hair. "When did you start fucking with Glock? I thought you were in a ménage or some shit." Makayla asked but just then Samaria started calling.
"Hey pookie. I'm here at Kay Kay's getting my hair done. What's up?" Chalynn asked bending her head down as her cousin coated her scalp with a thick amount of jam.
"You we're supposed to call me back so that you could tell me about you and Key but you been too busy for me." Samaria made a sad face and pretended to cry.
"You called at the right time. I can just go ahead and tell both of y'all." Chalynn told both of them how the date went last week, "Then after he told me that we get to kissing and he finna take me to pound town but I stopped him. As bad as I wanted it, if I'm going to start something with him. It really needs to be on a clean slate. He respected my wishes though and then he took me home and we kissed some more."

Samaria could tell that Lays time with Key made her genuinely happy.
"You know how them rappers be though. They'll say they're okay with it but then they'll fuck around and still cheat." Makayla put her two sense in causing Samaria to roll her eyes.
"Some times niggas are truthful so I'm hoping that's the case. I'm glad I set you up with him. Well it was Toosi's idea. But anyways, so what's the hold up with Dorian?" Sam sipped her water intrigued with the conversation.
"Excuse me? Y'all set me up with him? Rewind." Chalynn held her finger up that meme of Kim Parker.
"You needed somebody to host, he thought you was cute, so boom. Back to Dorian." Samaria waved the detail off.
"I texted that nigga told him I wasn't comfortable seeing him in person but I was done with him and Majee. He gone text me talm bout he loves me to death. I told that nigga stop breathing. Then he called me a hundred thousand times after that. I dropped the car off in a public location with the keys. I'm done with they asses." She rolled her eyes as the girls burst out laughing.
"Ain't no way you told that man to stop breathing." Kay Kay laughed going into the third row of Lay's braids.
"Who didn't?" Chalynn pulled up the text thread between her and Dorian.
"You wreck. He's even crazier though talm bout he love you to death and then put it in bold. Wouldn't be surprised if he shot you." Samaria shrugged and that was just her being real.
"Any news on that? Did they say who could've done it." Makayla hadn't heard anything on the street either.
"Nope. The house burned down so they have no evidence. I have no idea who could've done it so at the moment the case is closed." Chalynn knew who burned the house down and she knew Dylan was there but she wasn't going to tell anybody that information. Dylan was going to get hers though. There was no doubt about it
"Its okay cousin. God don't like ugly and whoever did it is going to get theirs."
"You right. I'm trusting in God."
"How you gettin back home? You need me to get you?" Samaria asked changing from the subject.
"Nope my man getting me. But, we can go get our nails and toes done today if you wanna. Key's treat." Samaria liked the sound of that but Makayla scrunched her face up.
"Yup. Let me know when you make it back home. Bye babes, I love you." Chalynn said her goodbyes and then texted Marlee to see if she wanted to go as well.
"You gone invite her over me?" Makayla fake pouted.
"Now you said you was booked and busy today. How am I going to invite you to get your nails and toes done?" Chalynn asked with a straight face.
"You right. You right. But, I'll tell you be careful with Key. It's more than what meets the eye when it comes to him." The rest of the appointment was silent after that.
✨
Key and Lay were silent the entire ride home, he was upset that she had taken an uber to get her hair done and she was trying to figure out what the hell Makayla meant.

The two were now sitting in the guest bedroom quiet as mouses.
"I know you not mad?" He said putting his phone down, even though they had just been going strong for a week or so them being in the same vicinity but not talking pissed him off.
"You not talking to me so." She crossed her arms over her chest.
"Come er." Chalynn stood in front of him as he was sitting down on the bed. He unfolded her arms and pulled her by the waist closer to him. "Cause I know good and damn well you seen them people on the news talking about how Uber tried to abduct them or raped them or some shit. You need to go somewhere, I can take you or arrange some shit. You really don't need to be going anywhere with out somebody with you especially cause that looney toon ass nigga still out there." Chalynn stood in front of him as he was sitting down on the bed. He unfolded her arms and pulled her closer to him.
"I just don't want you to see me as somebody who always needs something from you or needs you to do something." Key's hands squeezed her cheeks as he put his head on her stomach.
"Ion see it like that. I've seen you at both your jobs. I know you be hustling and that's why I'm helping." Easing up Chalynn stroked the back of his head.
"Why are you so sweet to me? Even at the hospital? The date, what have I done for you to go so hard for me so soon?" It took months for Dorian to reward her with dates and affection. At first she was just another piece of pussy to him.
"I wanna see my shorty win. I got something to ask you though." He said looking up at her.
"Yes?" She looked back down at him .
"You know I'm going on my international tour and I know we just started going on dates and we taking it slow but I want you to come. I think it would be good for you to get out the country for a minute." Key suggested either way he would be cool. Having Lay there would just keep him on his shit.
"Mm. Markey. I don't know. I mean it's kinda soon. I-I have work and school." Chalynn was scared to go with him. It wasn't as if she thought he would hurt her but what if she had the time of her life? Let her guard down?
"It's no sweat. Just thought I'd ask. I gotta pack though since I leave tomorrow. Call me when you leave from with your girls. Daddy'll come say bye." He joked causing Lay to laugh.
"You have to go? Can you push it back?" She whined as he shook his head no.
"Gimme kiss." He puckered his lips, she gave him a small peck and he fell back on the bed with her between his legs. Lay straddled him but that didn't last long before it began to grow hot in there.
"Lay, you re-?" Samaria walked into the room and wished she hadn't but it was cute watching them. "Ou. Nasty nasty kids. I'll be out here waiting." Sam took a picture first and then she left.
Chalynn hopped up not wanting to disrespect Keisha's house.
"Come on before your mama whoops both our asses."
✨
Markeyvius had been gone all of two days before Lay finally texted him. Since she was back at work and doing her classes online she had a full schedule to keep herself busy.
"Whatcha doing?" Keisha asked as she sat down at the island doing her class work.
"Just some homework.. missing my friend." She admitted and he was missing her just the same but he was also having a grand ole time in Spain.
"I don't wanna hear it. You had an opportunity to go on a free Europe tour and you declined? Don't say nothing about missing him." Keisha laughed sipping her coffee.
"What would people say about me going on tour with a man I've been seeing for two months but have been spending time with for almost two weeks?" Chalynn asked setting her pen down and giving her full attention to Keisha.
"Them people paying your bills? Driving you back and forth to physical therapy? Getting your hair and nails done? Tell me what do those people do for you? It sounds like you're scared of falling to fast. What's really on your mind?" Keisha asked leaning against the granite counter tops.
"I am scared of falling too fast. Every moment with him feels like it's meant to be. Almost like we were destined to be together or cross paths. Nothing with Key feels forced like we've known each other for years almost. It's too late now." Chalynn sighed once again and shook her head.
"You never know. Don't waste your life waiting around because of other peoples opinions. Enjoy your youth."
Chalynn went on Twitter and tweeted, When I miss him, I listen to his music.
And, if you wonder if I miss you. I doooo. Or whatever SZA said.
Right when she sent the second tweet, there was a knock at Keisha's door.
"I'll get it." Chalynn sighed seeing that Keisha was probably too far away to even hear the knock. She opened the door to see a very handsome darkskin man in a suite at the door.
"Chalynn. Nice to see you in the land of the living. Key has asked me to bring you to Spain. Well that's if you would like to come." Black smiled a tight lip smile.
Chalynn turned around to see Keisha smirking at her.
"So what are you going to do?" She asked, as bad as Chalynn wanted to go. She just couldn't bring herself to do so. There was too much going on here.
"I can't, but tell him I'll see him when he gets back."
And with that. She shut the door.

Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
