Huang Dewei was sitting on a bench in his garden in complete silence. His heart was restless and heavy with thought when he heard footsteps behind him. He looked up and saw Xin Ying standing there. They both looked at each other and greeted as Xin Ying walked and sat down next to him on the bench.

'What are you doing here?' Xin Ying asked as she softly smile.

'Just came to get fresh air.' Huang Dewei responded.

'I am happy to see you safe and sound.' Xin Ying said and Huang Dewei confused looked towards him

'What do you mean?'

'Don't tell me you know nothing.' Xin Ying said as she was equally surprised and Huang Dewei was still puzzled

'What are you talking about?' Huang Dewei asked puzzled.

'The news is spread all over the palace that yesterday night, Chen Ju tried to kill you. Wang Lei caught her. That is a reason you have guards all over your residence now.' Xin Ying said as he told her the full story and Huang Dewei was shocked. He did not know anything like this neither Wang Lei gave him this reason when earlier he confronted him. Wang Lei did not tell him and he has been angry with him all day.

'Oh...I did not know.' Huang Dewei replied still astonished.

'Wang Lei did not tell you.' Xin Ying asked looking at his stunned face

'No.' Huang Dewei simply replied as he shook away his head.

'I understand...As much as we all find her bitchy and cold...Wang Lei cares for her. After all, they both grow up together unlike us.' Xin Ying said and Huang Dewei nodded his head in agreement because he understood what she meant and she was not wrong. Chen Ju had a soft spot in Wang Lei's heart and Huang Dewei hated that, but he can't do much about it. Now he understood why there were so many guards, but he still was angry and annoyed that Wang Lei did not tell him the reason. She tried to kill him and he deserved to know about it. It does not matter how much Wang Lei care for her and does not want to show her in a bad light in front of other people.

'She is on a Wang Lei's watch now...She has been ordered to stay away from you and if she breaks that order, it is crime and she will receive a punishment..' Xin Ying further added and Huang Dewei was even more surprised as he just nodded his head without saying much in response. He felt relieved and some kind of pride knowing that Wang Lei still took some kind of stand for Huang Dewei in front of her. The completed stillness took place between them which was broken by Huang Dewei after a few minutes.

'Is Wang Lei okay with you? I mean does he know about us?' Huang Dewei asked while changing the topic and trying to act not so suspicious. He was curious does he was getting revenge from Xin Yin as well just like Huang Dewei. He wonders how he was treating her.

'No, we have no discussion where he hinted that he knew about us. He knew I used to have a lover but who he never asked neither I ever told him. Why are you asking that?' Xin Ying replied as she asked inquisitive and confused.

'It's nothing...anyway you tell me how are you feeling?' Huang Dewei asked yet again changing the topic

'Great...I did not know but I have somehow come to love that unborn child soo much that I can't even imagine my life without that baby now...That's so strange and the baby is not even born yet.' Xin Ying said as she merrily put a hand over her stomach and he could feel love in her eyes and words. He somehow did feel happy for her...It was nice seeing her happy. He somehow accepted that baby and was not angry or jealous of it. I mean they were husband and wife and as much as he can't share Wang Lei with anyone else...they were still nothing....and that unborn baby has no fault. He deserved all the love in this world.

'Is Wang Lei happy too?' Huang Dewei asked

'Yes, he looks very happy and grateful to me. I keep apologising to me too for putting me through all pain and he read children's books to the baby as well...you should see it...He looks very cute.' Xin Ying explained as she remember Wang Lei reading the book sitting on the side while she lay down on the bed listening to him. It felt like family time and she somehow felt closer to him. Whereas Huang Dewei felt bleak, but then he was happy because Huang Dewei knew he can't provide happiness like children to Wang Lei so if he was going to be a father, it was something great which needed to be celebrated.

Wang Lei who came to sleep with Huang Dewei for tonight entered the garden when he saw the all lights were on but stopped when his gaze fell on them. He quickly hid behind as he wanted his feet to move and walk away instead of listening to their private conversation, but he could not when he heard Huang Dewei.

'I am happy for both of you.' Huang Dewei said and Xin Ying looked towards him and smile as she moved and put her head over his shoulder. Huang Dewei did not push her away while Wang Lei was cursing himself that he should go. What he was doing was wrong hiding and listening to them? This was a bad manner and he should just go and come back later. He somehow does not believe something was going on between them. He trusts Huang Dewei blindly.

'You are very nice Huang Dewei...I am happy that I met you in this life and I hope we will at least be friends with each other for the rest of our lives.' Xin Ying said and Huang Dewei smile warmly while Wang Lei decided he should walk away. He turned over to walk away when he heard Huang Dewei's words reaching his ears.

'Yes, I am happy to meet you too.' Huang Dewei's response made Wang Lei stopped from walking away as he remembered the exact opposite words Huang Dewei said to him in anger just in the morning that how he met him was the worse thing that ever happen to him. He wanted to hear these words which he was saying to Xin Ying from his mouth but all he got from him was his hate and bitterness.

'Do you want to keep the name of my unborn baby Huang Dewei?' Xin Ying asked and Huang Dewei was completely dumbfounded by her request.

'Me?'

'Yes, you are also part of this family. When our child will grow up, he will play with you and will love you as much that baby loves me and Wang Lei.' Xin Ying said and Huang Dewei smiles as he nodded his head

'Yes, I will think of the name. It will be an honour to keep your unborn baby's name.' Huang Dewei said while Xin Ying's head was still on his shoulder as she think deeply and then spoke up

'Do you think what would be if we were still together? What if I would have gained courage and run away with you and did not marry Wang Lei...You know this child would have been ours. Don't you think that would have been beautiful?' Xin Ying said as she thought of a pleasurable future of them together which she always had been dreaming about when they were together while Huang Dewei imagined what she said and then he realised that would mean he never would have met Wang Lei. A life without Wang Lei...Would that life be beautiful to him? Huang Dewei questioned himself.

As Wang Lei heard her words, he did not like them. Would not that mean Huang Dewei would never have met Wang Lei...That thought seems very impossible to Wang Lei however, he did not hear Huang Dewei responding to her for a while...he was deep in thinking and Wang Lei felt disappointed. 'come on Weiwei....say something. Will your life be equally beautiful without me?' Wang Lei whispered asked as he patiently waited and then they heard Huang Dewei

'For me, my life is still beautiful Xin Ying...The only thing I wish for is if I could be a woman so I could have given him everything he wants.' Huang Dewei replied and Wang Lei beamed as he felt relieved washed over him whereas Xin Ying moved and looked up towards him and she realised he was madly in love with Wang Lei. She really wonders how different his, her and Wang Lei's life and fate would have been if she had changed her decision of marrying Wang Lei. It was a mistake which grand her to become a mother because it happen before Wang Lei realised that he was in love with Huang Dewei otherwise now it will be impossible. She knew Wang Lei will never go to sleep ever again with her. She sighed when they heard footsteps. They turned over and found Wang Lei standing. They both quickly stood up creating distance between each other.

'Wang Lei, when did you come?' Xin Ying asked as Wang Lei was looking at Huang Dewei.

'Just now.' Wang Lei replied as awkward silence took place between him while Xin Ying and Huang Dewei were thinking about how much he heard them.

'Well, I will be going now...good night.' Xin Ying said as she bowed down and walked out because the whole situation was getting awkward and she realised he probably came to meet Huang Dewei if he was at his residence. She just left them alone as Huang Dewei turned over and sat back down on the bench. Wang Lei walked and sat down beside him as there was complete quietness between them.

'Are you still angry about guards?' Wang Lei and Huang Dewei stayed quiet as he ignored him. He was angry that he did not tell him about Chen Ju now.

'And I know those guards are inconvenient to you but bear with them. Once I felt like you don't need them, I will remove them. I promise you that.' Wang Lei said as he looked towards his cold angry face. Huang Dewei said nothing but he could not help and admired his care for him. He felt his heart melt for Wang Lei, but he gave no reaction to Wang Lei who sighed and looked away.

'Can I keep my head on your shoulder or is it already given to someone else?' Wang Lei asked referring to Xin Ying putting her head over his shoulder and Huang Dewei looked towards him

'It is already taken.' Huang Dewei said coldly as he rejected his offer and Wang Lei sighed

'Then how about your lap?' Wang Lei said and this time without waiting for his answer he moved and put his head over his lap while laying down on the bench. Huang Dewei's heart skipped a beat while Wang Lei closed away his eyes. Huang Dewei looked towards his memorising face as he admired him.

'You don't have to be a woman to give me everything Weiwei...you are already giving me everything. You just have to be you and that is enough for me.' Wang Lei softly said and Huang Dewei's eyes widen as his words reached his ears and he realised he had heard their conversation...not sure if full or half but his words actually confronted him. He stared at him surprised who was peacefully laying with his eyes shut.

'Put me to sleep, Weiwei...I am tired.' Wang Lei said as he opened his eyes and looked toward him like a kid. He looked cute and Huang Dewei was surprised to see him like this. But he did nothing as he just sat there. He avoids touching him again.

'You are not touching me...now you are not putting me to sleep with... Are you giving me a punishment Weiwei?'Wang Lei asked as he pouted like a kid

'Is not getting touched by me a punishment to you?' Huang Dewei asked surprised and happy feeling which he hide while keeping a serious face as Wang Lei nodded his head while smiling and spoke up

'Yes.'

'Then I want you to suffer.' Huang Dewei said coldly and Wang Lei's smile dropped. He moved away and sat back up on the bench and then he stood up.

'I think I will go and sleep in my own chamber. I believed my existence is going to disturb you.' Wang Lei said coldly as he turned over and walked out hurtfully. Huang Dewei also stood up and wanted to run after him and he regretted his words but he could not. All he could do was watch him walk off and then he sighed. He sorrowfully came back to his room and laid down to sleep but he missed his presence. As much as he did not want to accept but he was getting used to sleeping in his arms. It felt safe and at home. Without the presence of his warm embrace, he felt cold and it was a coldness that only he could warm up.
