"Your Grandmother wore the dragon wings with honor. Your father wore the phoenix wings with pride, but somehow you ended up with ravens," He says with disgust like he is not impressed by ravens or something. All this would have been better if I knew a bit about what he's ranting about, but I don't. I want nothing more than to demand answers about what he's going on about but I can't. Jessica is in trouble. She needs me and I need to save her.

The life I lived with my parents was fun. I used to get into so much trouble without worrying about consequences because I knew no matter what that I was going to be okay. I used to get into a lot of fist fight with people. I tend to make a point clear with my fist and I had no problem defending myself whenever I was stuck in a situation that needed a violence way out. I never once imagined how my life would change with the new school my parents exiled me to.

I've seen a sword before. Jessica's dad fancies himself a hunter. He has a shelf where he keeps and showcases his weapons and what he's used them to kill. Amongst the weapon he has is a sword. Yeah, I've always wanted to hold a sword but never did I imagine defending myself with one giving that I have absolutely no idea how to use it.

I tighten my hold on the sword and raise it up, the tip of the blade is almost touching his Adam's apple. "Quit the chit chat and release my friend." I demand through my gritted teeth. I'm scared as hell but I have to keep my guard up and look brave because Arihmatheo could easily kill me.

His dark gaze meets mine, I see the amusement dancing in his eyes. It's no doubt that he can tell that I'm nervous. He takes a step back and drops his gaze to the sword in my hand. "A sage and a princess, you match. A princess always needs a sage." He tells me.

He straighten his back which makes him looks taller and more intimidating. He takes a step closer. I swallow hard and take steps back. I should have waited with the rest. Why didn't I wait? Why did I have to barge in here without knowing full well what he's capable of? I did not think this through and it's turning out to be a very bad idea.

Fuck me and my anger.

"Who are you?" He asks.

I frown. "What do you mean?" I fire back. He seems to know who I am even though his theory make no sense. He keeps calling me princess and I know I'm not of royalty, so I'm left to think he's delusional.

"I mean," he takes another step forward, which makes me takes several backwards, "who are you? Tell me your name." He demands.

"Cami Stark." My name flies out of my mouth before I can stop myself. I slap my hand over my mouth while the other one holding the sword lowers.

"Stark. It's not like I don't who you are, but do you, Cami, do you know who you are?" He walks closer and I don't stop until my back hits a wall. He continues walking.

I shake my head and remove the hand that's covering my mouth. "What do you mean?" I ask him the same question again.

He stands in front of me and I freeze. It was okay when he was at arm's length but he's in my personal space. The smell of his cologne hit my nose, which makes it hard to breathe. I tighten my grip on the sword and curl the fingers on the other hand inward in a fist. I begin to sweat all over.

"You don't know, do you?" He shakes his head in disappointment.

"Know what?"

I don't know what he's talking about. It was fun while it lasted but this doesn't look fun. He's being serious and I don't understand what he mean by that. Who am I? I'm Camille Stark, yeah maybe I don't know who my biological parents are but I know who I am. There's something going on here..

"Did they not tell you the truth about who you are? Because if you did, you wouldn't be in The Vale. I'll show you the place you come from, can I?" He asks.

Just like a compulsion, I nod my head.

He smiles and places his hand on my forehead. "Whos reh eht yaw."

"Stay away from her!" That roar comes from a very familiar voice, I think I...

I take a moment to blink out of whatever Arihmatheo did to me. Okay, some freaky is definitely going on. He cast that spell and I felt a little dizzy, although it was just for a second but I felt it. Once I regain control, I glare at him to see him glaring right back at me.

"What did you do to me?" I whisper.

He shrugs. "I opened your eyes," He replies and smirks.

Right..

"Get away from her." The headmaster says, I turn my head to see him and Roman. Where is Nate? And it's so nice of them to join us.

"Don't think because I called you by your fake mortal name means I don't know who you really are, El-Gar-El the Royal gatekeeper," Arihmatheo glares at the headmaster.

Okay, now I'm so confused. What is going on? Who is Gal El? There's so much the headmaster needs to answer for but now I'll just let this shit be over with. "And a Scorpio witch. How many more of you are coming?"

Without thinking it through, I raise the sword and place it on the side of his neck since his attention is on to the headmaster. "What did have you done with Jessica?" I demand as my eyes finds her body laying lifelessly on the table Arihmatheo placed her on. I'm not even sure if she's still breathing.

"Me? I didn't do anything to your friend. I need her for something, that dead act is all her." He answers but I don't know if I should believe him or not.

I press the sword to his skin, enough to cut him. "Tell me what you did or I swear I will do some damage." I threaten. The sword is pressed against his artery, any sudden miscalculated movement can make him bleed to death and I'm not sane enough to kill anything or anyone. I just figured I'd show him I'm tough and he'll release my friend.

He tilts his head to my direction, his lips curl up in a devilish smirk. "You are not going to kill me, Cami because you don't have the gut."

"Don't. Test me." I grit out. It won't take a fool to notice that he's trying to bait me and I'm totally falling for it.

"You are not going to kill me, Cami because I'm the only one that can stop–"

He stops talking when we hear a roar, an actual animal roar. "-that.” his gaze looks pass me. “I'm the only one who can stop that."

Following his gaze, I see three guys in an outfit that resembles the ones the guys that accompanied Arihmatheo's to the school. They look pale like they've been drained of blood. I look into their eyes and I see nothing. It's like they're a walking vessel with no soul. I turn to see Arihmatheo smirking like he knows what he's dealing with.

I take a deep breath and say to Arihmatheo, "Call your army back or I'm going to fucking cut your head off." I won't actually cut off his head but I will hurt him if he doesn't call those guys back.

He chuckles and leans into the sword. "What's stopping you?" The expression he wears on his face dares me to cut him and I want nothing more than to move the sword but that's won't save Jessica. Although, that might be too late as my eyes catches his blood rolling and dripping down the sword.

I add more pressure to the sword before releasing it. His wound heals immediately, which doesn't surprise me. "It's going to take more than an ordinary blade to kill me." He winks.

"Call your army back." I tell him again.

He straightens his back and adjusts his jacket. "They are not mine and they are undead. You'll figure out whose army they are eventually, but till then, fight." He says and backs away from me.

"W-what? What are you...where are you going?" I stutter when I notice the undead guys moving and they are come directly towards me.

"Get behind me, Cami, NOW!" The headmaster order as he and Roman faces them.

I don't have to be told twice, I move quickly behind the guys and look around the place with no trace of Arihmatheo. That son of a bitch. I look in front of me to see Roman make a fire ball and tosses it at them. It hits the one in the middle and he absorbs the fire like it's nothing. The three of them look at the headmaster and Roman before charging at them.

Roman and the headmaster seems prepared because they meet them halfway. The headmaster delivers a blow to one stomach while Roman dodges the punch the other one is bringing. The third one heads towards me. My eyes widen as they meet his soulless ones.

I raise my sword up and brace myself. I can't call for help because the headmaster and Roman are busy battling their own undead, and Nate isn't nowhere to be found. I don't know the first thing about using a sword or casting spell that can help me. It's official I'm going to die today.

I swing the sword as he nears me but he jumps up, kicking the sword out of my hand before landing back on his feet. "Arihmatheo, do something!" I seethe in anger even though he isn't here.

To my surprise, he appears with his arms up in surrender. "I said it's not me." He replies and I don't believe him.

It's like everything going on is some sort of joke to him.

"If it isn't you, then who?" The headmaster tilts his head to Arihmatheo's direction to ask but he receives a punch to his jaw.

"Ahhhh," I help him mourn. The undead sure knows how to pack a mean punch. That is definitely going to hurt like hell and leave a bruise. "ArihmaTheo!" I call his name with all my will. "Who is it?"

He lifts his index finger up and bend it, causing the undead in front of me bend the same way Arihmatheo's finger's bend. He brings his other index finger to his lips, telling to keep quiet and listen before tilting his head to one side.

I follow the directions of his head and gasp at the sight in front of me. Jessica is kneeling on the ground on one knee with her right hand on the floor, her eyes brown eyes are now glowing like I've never seen before. Her mouth moving to whatever it is she's chanting.

Oh, my God! It's her. It's Jessica. She is–she... She has... She's supernatural.

I take moment to digest whatever it is I'm looking at. I mean, this can't be possible. It can't be Jessica. Not the Jessica I was friends with. If she had magic, I would know. When Arihmatheo said they were at the school for a sage, I just thought he was being a fuck and what the fuck is a sage anyway? A spiritual teacher, no one said they have powers to make people undead.

"I told you they are not my army." Arihmatheo's voice pulls me from my thought.

"Headmaster!" I shout, distracting him from his fight. "Something is wrong with Jessica." I inform him and rush to Jessica.

I slide on my kneels in front of her and realize she isn't herself, of course she isn't herself, she's repeating the same thing over for fuck sake. "Jessica." I whisper her name, careful not to touch her. I have never seen anything like this before even with the actual witches.

"What is wrong with her?" I scream at Arihmatheo, who shrugs like he doesn't care. I groan and jump up on my feet and launch myself at him, pushing him to the wall in the process with all my strength. "What did you do to her?" I demand. I refuse to believe that it's her powers. There has to be some kind of explanation.

In a swift moment, Arihmatheo removes my hand from his body, he wraps his hand around my neck and slams me against the wall without releasing my neck. "Don't provoke me, girl, I told you I didn't do anything." He says through his gritted teeth.

"Fuck you, I don't believe you." I spit out as I try to break free.

He tightens his hold on my neck and raises me off my feet. Is this what choking feels like?

I look over his head to see Roman throw the sword I dropped in our direction. I glance at Arihmatheo, he smirks and pulls me forward, whispering something inside my ear before dropping me, causing me to fall on the ground. And then he vanishes. I know it isn't like before that he disappeared and I called his name in which he reappeared. I know he's really gone this time.

I wrap my arms around my neck as I try to catch my breath. "You good?" The headmaster asks from afar. I raise my thumbs up to confirm before look up to where the sword is stuck inside the wall. Is the sword magic or something? Because a steel impaling a concrete wall just doesn't make sense.

Why am I thinking about the sword in the wall anyway? I push the thought off my mind before crawling towards Jessica. "Jessica," I call her name but she looks gone, just like the undead. "Little help here!"

"We are a little busy at the moment." Roman yells back.

"Better call Nate." The headmaster suggests.

"I'm already here, call me and he-" Nate suddenly appears out of nowhere like he's been here the whole time and is just waiting for us to call on him. I cut him off before he starts whining.

"Do you know how to help her?" I ask.

He kneels in front of her, beside me. "I do."

I don't think I have ever been happier to see him. He seems to know the solution to everything.

"She isn't herself." He states the obvious. I'm shocked he didn't tell me the color of her shirt. Of course I know she isn't herself. "There is a spell that can help clear her mind, she's probably tapped into this world because she was scared."

What world? I want to ask but I figured we should save her life first before I start asking the questions.

"So do it," I tell him.

"Me?" I raise my eyebrows in question. "You are doing it, I'm holding her." he informs me.

I roll my eyes. "Okay, what's the spell?" I ask, not wasting any time.

Nate moves behind her and places his hand on either side of her head and clears his throat. "Place your hand on her shoulder and repeat after me."

I do as he says and wait for the spell. "Zuu malay ick jah zor Jessica Cruz-William eerf"

I chant continuously, not stopping until I begin to feel her skin warm, blood rushing through her again as color returns to her skin. The glow in her eyes dim down, revealing the true color of her eye. I know she's back before she exhale sharply and blinks.

"Cami?" She blinks again and looks around her, her gaze dropping on the hands I have on her shoulder and then to her hand that's on the ground. "I–I–"

"I'm just glad you're okay." I whisper and look ahead to see the army down.

She didn't ask about what happened or what she did. She obviously knows.

I sigh lay down on the floor and look at the old ceiling. "Wheeew that was fun guys, we should definitely never do it again." I joke and they all laugh.

"It's been a long day, let's go home." The headmaster says as he joins Nate and I on the floor. "Miss Cruz-William, are you okay?"
