《Transmigrated Into A Blind Woman's Body》Chapter 79

Cao Peizhi observed the prosthetic limb more closely, not knowing how it could be similar to a real one. He touched the outer layer, feeling as though it was like dough being made, but it wasn't like that. The limb was a bit heavy, but it was not too heavy for someone like him. 'What is this contraption?' He questioned in his head.
"This thing should be working! I've managed to run it by absorbing the sun with my personal battery designed into it!" Chun Yunchen said with confidence in his tone. He then started to explain everything about how the limb worked and what it ran on, and how it would be able to function again if it ran out of battery.
"B-Battery?" Cao Peizhi knew nothing about what this child was spouting about, but he then turned his attention back to the limb and stared at the fingers that looked real enough to use. Thinking about how he used to use his hands so freely, he noticed his index finger from the prosthetic limb move. Making a flicker motion, it was surprising for him to see something like this happen right in front of him.
Chun Yunchen could see the shock on Cao Peizhi's face; he had a smile on his face not too long after to see how this was going better than he had thought. "You can continue to use it, but I've tested it, and it could last you till the sun goes down. There is a limit on how long it will last. I will have to look more into it and fix it later on. For now, this is as good as it gets." Chun Yunchen had to fix it up later, but he figured that Cao Peizhi would want to use it more. "Alright! I'll be looking more into what I can use to improve it. I think by now, Hun Cuifen is just about reaching the palace." He reminded Cao Peizhi, who sent Hun Cuifen to take care of Lin Ning in the Zhao Palace. Cao Peizhi was left alone in the tent once more, glancing at the limb that functioned as a real limb. 'I do not know why Lin Ning wanted to give me back my arm so much, but it does not make me feel any better without her.' He knew that it should be something he was happy about, but there was none. He had forgotten how Chun Yunchen put on his limb; he had no choice but to wear it all day. Throughout the time, he wanted to be able to think of a plan to get Lin Ning out, but none was processing through his head. He would take a look at his limb each time getting up. He did not want to stand still anymore since he was told to stay hidden for someone labeled as 'dead.' "I have to go to Ning and my child." Cao Peizhi took whatever he needed, getting onto his horse after with his man all left in confusion. 'Everything is still a mess, but I cannot stay still like a real dead man.'

"Peizhi!" Yi Changpu had heard from his men that Cao Peizhi had taken his horse and left the border. Yi Changpu rushed out of his tent, seeing Cao Peizhi, who was already too far to reach this point. 'He would never be able to stand around for long. What is he going to do once he gets there?' Yi Changpu knew that Cao Peizhi would have a few of his people with him, but most people in the city already assumed that he was dead. 'He cannot go there and show up like nothing ever happened to him.'

Lin Ning had been sitting around in her part of the manor; she didn't even notice that it was night. "Concubine Ning, it is time that you return to your room. The second prince will be here anytime soon. He said that he would visit you tonight."
"Everyone, leave." Lin Ning ordered them to leave her alone; she did not want to see anyone. Getting up, she used the stone rails that led her to her room. Locking herself in her room, she refused to have the second prince come and see her. 'Just because I am here does not mean that I consent to everything.'
The second prince had arrived to see that the maids and servants were all outside of Lin Ning's bedroom. "Is she sleeping now?" He asked the maid who attended to Lin Ning. The maid was afraid to say that she had only just gone into her room, but everyone could see that the lanterns were turned off. "It's fine. I will just come again. Make sure that she eats well and does not cause any trouble." The second prince had left, and the maids and servants had retired for the night.

Lin Ning sat in her bed; she had not fallen asleep but remained thinking about Cao Peizhi. 'Peizhi, I guess this will be my hardship from here. Trapped in this palace will bring nothing more than trouble to me. The Second Prince's princess consort will try and harm me. It may not look noticeable, but I know that she is plotting to try and frame me. How long can I last here?' She thought.
"You didn't eat today." Tai Yuqing arrived with another lunchbox in his hand that he had prepared. Lin Ning remained sitting on her bed, shaking her head from side to side.
"How can I eat when I am lovesick? You may not understand what love is, but I only wish to go back to my love's side."
Tai Yuqing leaned against the window, staring up at the night sky filled with stars. "You may think that I do not understand what love is, but I know it very well. It is painful. I know that I am not helpful to you, but I truly hope that the second prince can let you go. He is a man who will get bored easily about something once he loses interest in it. I do not know how long he will keep you, but I hope it will not be long."
"Why are you hoping so much for the second prince to get bored of me?" Lin Ning questioned.
Tai Yuqing crossed his arms over his chest, "The second prince had hurt someone I loved back then. It should not come as a surprise to hear that since the second prince is one of the most loved ones in the Zhao State." He told Lin Ning, who was curious about why Tai Yuqing was still serving the Second Prince when someone he loved was hurt by him.

How will their completely different lives allow, or prevent them from getting what they want? Expect some drama, flirty lines, steamy scenes, funny best friends, and perhaps, an overall epic love connection. ~Carter came around the corner as his eyes darkened with a predatory gaze. Oh no. He took a step forward, minimalizing the distance with every dominating stride, as I froze in my spot. My breath hitched as his arms finally encircled my waist and his eyes locked with mine. In one swift motion, he flipped my body so my back was pressed against his chest and hands gripped the curve of my hips. "What game are you trying to play at Valerie?" he spoke in a husky voice. Goosebumps danced along my skin as his hot breath fanned against the shell of my ear and his fingertips lit a trail of blazing heat along the length of my arm. Mentally shaking myself from the trance of that which is Carter Bryson, I tilted my head towards him and whispered; "One where you'll lose." Quickly escaping his hold on me before the tension became unbearable, I spun on my heel to face him and slowly backed away towards the exit. "Good luck though." I added mischievously. With a smirk and a devilish glint in his eyes that could even give hell a run for its money, he replied; "I'm not a player though, baby. I'm the gamemaker."~❗️Mature content.
