Thaddeus POV
Aiden was asleep when I entered the room, so I quietly went into the bathroom and took a shower.
After I was done I came out to find he was still asleep. I went to the side Aiden was laying near so I could see him, and I couldn't believe how adorable he looked. He was laying on his stomach with the sheets tangled around his body again. His face was near the edge, facing me as I came closer.
He looks so peaceful, so beautiful!
I reached my hand up, and lightly brushed the hair away from his face, before trailing my fingers down the side of his cheek and gently cupping it. My thumb lightly stroked his cheek as his eyes fluttered open. Those beautiful blue eyes landed on mine and I swore my heart skipped a beat, maybe several!
He held my gaze for a moment as I lightly stroked his cheek. I was surprised, but thankful he didn't seem frightened. He actually seemed calm as he laid there looking at me, allowing me to touch his face. I felt a warmth spread through my chest as we stayed like this for a moment.
"Hi!" I said, smiling at him. Wishing I could lay down, and hold him in my arms.
"Hi!" He said, in such a soft voice.
My heart began to beat a little faster when a soft smile spread across his face.
My Goddess, I swear he's perfect! Thank you so much Moon Goddess for giving me this perfect and beautiful person, my second chance mate!
"It's lunch time, I was hoping maybe you would join me downstairs for lunch. I had everyone leave the pack house so I could bring you down for lunch. I was hoping to introduce you to my Beta Xander. He's the one who helped rescue you that day.
I'd also like to introduce you to my 3rd in command Marcus, and his mate Zendaya. They're really good people, and would really like to meet you. They're like family to me, Marcus and Xander are like brothers. I promise no one will hurt you." I said, hoping he would say yes.
He sat there, I could tell he was thinking about it as he nibbled on that little lip of his. It took everything I had not to reach forward and tug it out of his teeth. I can't wait for the day I can feel those lips against my own. Before I could think about those lips of his any further, his beautiful soft voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Okay." He said, and I felt the biggest smile spread across my face. I watched a small smile spread across his face, when he saw how happy that made me.
I again had to hold myself back, I wanted so desperately to reach forward and scoop him up and pull him into my arms. But instead, I forced myself to back up, and allow him to climb out of bed.
He walked next to me quietly. I could tell he was nervous, he kept digging his fingernail into the nail bed of his thumb as he walked.
When the door to the elevator opened, he jumped back. I could tell he wasn't expecting the door to open like that.

"It's okay, it's just an elevator." I said, when he looked confused and didn't seem to want to enter with me. He looked around nervously as the door closed then suddenly reached out and grabbed onto my wheelchair as the elevator began to move.
"It's okay, it's an elevator. It's taking us downstairs since I can't necessarily roll this down the stairs. I had to have this installed when I lost my legs." I said, with a soft smile on my face. I watched as he looked from the door, down to my legs after I said that and he seemed to relax a little.
Aiden walked next to me until we entered the dining room, then he seemed to slow down and walk behind me.
I wanted to stop and pull him into my lap to let him know it's okay. But I knew I couldn't, so I continued moving forward and made my way to the head of the table.
As I pulled to the head of the table, Xander was already sitting to my right, where the Beta normally sits.
The chair to my left was empty, the Luna's seat, that has been empty since I've been Alpha.
Next to the empty Luna chair, is where Marcus was sitting, and next to him his mate, Zendaya.
Aiden stopped, always back, away from the table. He stood there, nervously holding his hands in front of him as he looked down, stealing nervous glances at the table.
My heart broke seeing him like this. It was more than obvious how scared he was, but I was proud that he actually came down with me and made it this far.
I pulled the chair back to my left, then motioned him forward with my hand.
"Come here hun, you can sit here."
He looked at me as I began to speak, then slowly walked towards me and paused before slowly sitting down.
Once he sat down, I pulled his chair in, and pulled it close to mine until it was touching my wheelchair.
He startled as I pulled the chair in, his arms went out to his sides and grabbed my chair as his moved.
He looked at me, and I smiled then you quickly looked down as he blushed.
Just then Grace walked out, pushing a cart with everyone's food on it. She placed a plate in front of me first, then one in front of Aiden next, resting her hand on his shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. He glanced up at her and she gave him a warm smile before moving on to the next person.
"Aiden, I'd like to introduce you to everyone." I said, getting his attention.
"This is Xander, my beta." I said, pointing in Xander's direction.
He looked at Xander coming. Xander gave him his big goofy grin.
"Hey kid, it's good to see you again!" Xander said, and Aiden gave him the same cute little scowl.
Yup, he definitely doesn't like to be called a kid! I thought as I chuckled.
This is my 3rd in command, Marcus, and that's his mate Zendaya. I said, pointing to each person I called off. Aiden followed my finger, looking at them.
"Hi!" Marcus said with a smile, nodding his head at Aiden.

"Hi Aiden, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Zendaya said, in a soft, warm voice and a smile on her face. Her warmth was contagious and I watched a smile spread across Aiden's face. But he surprised me more when he responded to her.
" Hi!" He said in a soft voice, smiling at her. Her smile spread even further, and she glanced at me. How happy she was from here with the response she got from him.
As everyone began eating, I glanced at Aiden, just to see he was sitting there, staring into his lap while playing with his fingers.
I glanced around the table, to see everyone stealing glances at him as they ate. I can almost see their hearts breaking, as they noticed he was afraid to eat. I could tell they were trying not to stare, afraid to make him uncomfortable.
I took another bite, hoping he would see that I was eating and know it was okay for him to eat as well.
But it didn't seem to work, he still looked down, into his lap and nervously played with his fingers. I could see him nibbling on his lip again, as he glanced at his plate then back at his lap.
I heard his stomach growl, and I gently placed my hand on his knee, giving it a gentle squeeze, then rubbing his knee with my thumb.
He glanced up at me as I did this and I smiled at him.
"It's okay sweetheart, you can go ahead and eat." I said, smiling down at him.
I felt relieved when he returned my smile with a soft smile of his own. He then looked at his plate before slowly reaching forward and picking up his fork.
He glanced around the table, before looking back at his plate, then up at me once more. I smiled and nodded my head, then he slowly brought a bite to his mouth.
He slowly chewed his bite, then looked at his plate, almost as if he was shocked with how it tasted. He immediately scooped another bite and quickly brought it to his mouth. He slowly pulled the fork out of his mouth, his eyes closing and he hummed as he began chewing.
I smiled, as I watched him, so happy he liked it. He was in his own little world as he happily ate that tuna pasta. I glanced around the table to see everyone else smiling at him as well.
Okay boys, and My lovely lady, these sandwiches are nice and hot! Grace said, as she placed a hot ham and cheese sandwich on everyone's plate.
Aiden looked at it, then licked his lips, before looking up at me, as if asking if he could really eat it.
"Go ahead sweetheart." I said, and he smiled at me, before looking back at his plate and picking up his sandwich.
We were almost done with lunch when I got a desperate link from one of my warriors on patrol.
"ALPHA, We just have a breach on the west border by the river! A rogue just came running through. That sucker ran through Alpha Michaels first, and they're chasing after him too. I'm right behind them, but the suckers fast! It's heading toward the packhouse, it's heading straight for you guys!" He said, sounding out of breath and frantic.
Marcus took off right away. He flew out of his chair, swinging the door open and shifting as soon as he ran out the door. He immediately took off running as fast as he could in their direction, trying to catch the rogue, before he made it to us.
I looked at Xander as he was getting ready to take off as well, but quickly stopped him.
"No, I need you to stay with Aiden and make sure he's safe!
I said as Zendaya flew out the back door to gather the pups up, and make sure they're safe.
I quickly turned my attention to Aiden.
"Stay here and don't leave the pack house for anything at all!" I said firmly. I felt bad because he looked terrified by my tone, but I wanted to make sure he understood the danger.
I immediately backed away from the table, turning my wheelchair and locking it, before leaning forward and shifting to Zeus right there.
I ran out the door, and pushed myself as fast as I could in the direction of the rogue, that I could already sense coming towards us.
Marcus is fast, but Zeus and I are faster. I passed Marcus just before he made it into the woods.
The thundering sound of Zeus's paws could be heard as we raced through the trees, weaving around them and jumping over logs, wanting to stop this rogue before he made it to the pack house and hurt anyone.
As I come to an area where the trees seem to thin, I suddenly see a small white wolf fly out from behind a tree, and we both collide.
Our bodies collide, then hit the ground and tumble, snarling at each other as we tumble. Both of us growled at each other, our jaws snapping, and clawing.
This little shit somehow managed to get a hold of my back leg and bit down on my thigh, practically taking a chunk out of it.
I grunt from the pain, and this little shit took advantage, then took off running toward the packhouse again.
I gave chase, but the wolf got my back leg pretty good. He bit down on the muscle in just the right way, which slowed me down a little.
Zeus and I pushed ourselves as fast as we could. But damn it, I have to admit this little shit's fast as fuck!
We broke through the tree line, coming into the clearing that's between the pack house and the woods.
My heart pounds as I watch this white wolf get closer and closer to the pack house. All I could think about was Aiden as I tried to push myself faster.
I watched in horror as my worst nightmare unfolded in front of me.
As the white wolf approached the front door, the door suddenly opened and Aiden came running out.
The only thing that stopped me from having a heart attack was the fact that at the same time, Marcus was charging from the opposite direction and collided with the wolf at the last moment, tackling him before he could reach Aiden.
