I heard a loud shuffling noise next to me and groaned. It sounds like there's a fucking cat next to me or something.
I groggily open my eyes, but immediately close them again. Umm....okay too early.
I then felt something gently stroking my hair. I open my eyes again only to see Natasha this time.
I smiled at her and snuggled up to her warmth. "Morning." I giggled.
She sighed and shook her head. "Morning y/n, you feeling ok?" She questioned.
"Hmm..." I mumbled quietly. I bet she thinks I forgot about what I said to her last night. Well obviously I remember, I'm smart like that.
"You need painkillers or something? You were pretty rough last night." She asks me worryingly. I smirked to myself and shook my head.
"I'm fine...did I do something stupid last night?" I asked her, noticing that there was in fact a cat on her bed.
I glared at the cat with confusion as she spoke. Since when does this bitch have a cat. "No not really...I guess it's a good thing you don't remember anything." She mumbled softly.
"I do remember one thing though..." I giggled, gently stroking the cat that was now coming up to me.
She sighed: "and what is that?"
"That you like me back." I giggled, looking up at her. She smirked and shook her head.
"Let me guess, you hate me and it was just a drunken mistake and I just made a fool out of myself?" She rambled on sadly as she looked away from me.
"Nuh ah! I said 'you like me back' for a reason. Of course I like you." I told her.
"Y/n, you went from calling me a scary monster, to confessing your feelings." She replied bluntly.

"Well I guess you could call it an awakening. Like I wasn't scared of you nat, and I realise that now. I just had feelings for you this whole time, and I guess I didn't know what they really were" I tried explaining.
"Also who's cat is this and why is it here?" I added with confusion.
"It's my cat, Liho." She replied with a smile as the cat practically sat in my face.
"But y/n-" she started again, but I was quick to interrupt her.
"No. Look I might not have done what I did if I was sober, but I did it. And I don't regret it. And I seriously don't really mind if you don't feel the same way towards me, but I really like you." I rambled.
She sighed and shook her head. "Of course I feel the same. I just...I just don't genuinely believe that you like me."
Her sentence made me frown as I glanced at her sadly. "Why wouldn't I? You're literally beautiful to begin with. Like you're the prettiest girl I've ever known, and I think I know lots of pretty girls so that says a lot. To be honest, you're just out of my league. You're sweet, and I might not have realised it before, but you always care."
She smiled at me and looked away shyly. Okay, we'll I'll never get used to her blushing cause that was seriously cute.
"I could go on forever. You just care, you care for everyone, you always do. And you're funny, your jokes always made me laugh but I was kinda too scared to laugh at them..." I added with a chuckle.
"You're a dork. You know that?" She replied with a smile.
"But how do you know it's not just fear. I'm not good for you y/n." If she carries on saying that I might just cry. Like babe no you're perfect for me trust me.

"Cause I realised when Maria was talking about having a crush. Like I get nervous around you for a reason. And don't be a fucking idiot, why wouldn't you be good for me?"
"Cause...Im a monster-" she started.
I quickly interrupted her. "Okay maybe you're a little scary sometimes on missions, but still, that doesn't make you a scary monster. I still think you're cute."
"First of all, don't call me cute. Second of all-"
"No no no, you're cute. And if I'm honest here, I'm the one that should be worrying, not you." I told her.
She furrowed her brows at me with confusion. "And why is that?"
"Cause you're so out of my league." I answered quietly. She practically laughed at me. Well if it makes you laugh then go ahead and laugh, at least she has a cute laugh.
"Oh you're being serious-" she added, noticing my blank expression.
"Oh come on, you could get anyone. Everyone's likes you, I bet everyone has a crush on you." I told her
"Okay well that's just not true at all."
"Yes it is. I even heard Tony, a married man, say that he would get with you if he could." I replied, stroking her cat again.
"Yeah well that's just typical tony. Why would you think I'm out of your league? You're my type, you're beautiful y/n." She replied quietly.
I smiled at her and leant my head on her shoulder. "Okay? And I'm willing to give this a try if you want to, cause I do really really like you." She added.
I nodded my head quietly and thought for a moment. "I wanna try it too." I finally answered. She wrapped her arm around me and held me close to her.
"Good choice." She giggled.
I then groaned as my body caught up with last nights little occurrence. "Now get off me cutie, before I throw up all over your cute face-" I teased, dragging myself out of her hold and off the bed.
"Call me that one more time and I swear y/n I'll-"
I giggled at her, slamming the bathroom door as I took care of my business. I'm surprisingly not as bad as I thought I would be. I don't get hungover, I just get tired. I guess you could call that a hangover, but I rarely throw up or anything.
Once I was done I stood next to the bed and picked up her so called 'cat'.
"Put it down." She whines, watching me pick it up and holding it up in the air. "Why didn't you tell me you have a cat?" I asked as I sat down next to her and played with the cat.
"Cause I thought you knew?" She shrugs.
"And by the way you're staying with me all day today." She added sternly. I raised a brow at her as she turned on the tv.
"Oh yeah? Says who?" I chuckled.
"Says me. I need to make sure you're fine after last night." She states.
"Well I was going to stay here anyways. And also, I'd be fine, I'm always fine after drinking." I explained.
"Don't care. Y/n you genuinely worried me at one point last night." I smiled at how much she cared.

Touch O' Luck (The Old Realms)
A young provincial thief of no particular renown has his life of crime changed in a day. He ‘stumbles’ upon a huge pile of gold for starters and soon after a dead man carrying a letter of 'royal' interest. Literally. While at it he ‘earns’ a title of sorts, along the promise of a life out of the gutter. Before he can properly appreciate the dramatic turn of his fortunes, he’s drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that threatens to embroil two continents in a devastating war. The whole affair seems to cry out for a gallant hero of old, or failing that a cunning diplomat, but he’s neither. Perhaps a lying scoundrel, which our lad definitely is, would have to suffice. He does ‘acquire’ a dagger that knows a dead language after all and that must count for something. The Old Realms series: Touch O' Luck (Finished) Lure O' War (Ongoing) Wings O' Fate First chapters will be uploaded immediately. After that there will be updates every 3-5 days. Cover artwork by @IntheBlackveil All tags are relevant but most chapters are not too extreme. Fair warning dear reader, this is an 'unfiltered' story, sometimes sweet, others bitter, touching some heavy subjects or problems, like crime, war, betrayal, pride, politics, revenge etc set in a Epic Fantasy backdrop with shades of Grimdark. In its heart of hearts though, it is an adventure.

8 86Midnight Origins: Arrival
On a lush planet known as Bhar, Verun is now the leading nation in the development of the rivaled schools of Magic and Science. Having brought forth an era of peace and prosperity for themselves through the development of Magitech, The High council was eager to spread their knowledge and beliefs to the furthest reaches of the continent, with the goal of ending senseless conflicts and prioritizing advancements in Magitech and improving the quality of life. This ambition, however, is not without opposition. Most followers side with one school or another, believing it is superior in nature. This conflict dates back to the very beginning of civilization itself, where it is believed by both sides that their gods descended from the heavens, bestowing upon them the knowledge that would bring the world into a new age. And though some took great interest in their differences, others would seek to convert each other through any means necessary. That being the case, The High council, leaders of Verun, had made the necessary preparations to handle threats and attempt diplomacy between the remaining opposers. Talented volunteers were hand chosen to be among the military, tasked with protecting the nation from both internal and external threats. And although non-biological creations have improved quality of life, they are not yet capable of replacing the military. The necessary research and development for such a thing was thought to be decades away, until Councilman Eranor encountered an anomaly in his facility…
