I walked through the big crowds in my very own school hallways.
'It's always so crowded..' I opinioned to myself with a sigh.
I went threw all the commotion and soon found my classroom. It was hard to get through the doors since everyone was around my classroom door...
I was confused on why all these people suddenly took an interest in this classroom, usually, no one ever looks over here, overall it's art.. everyone in my school thinks that art is for geeks and nerds... how cruel.
I pushed my way into my classroom earning a few shouts from the crowd.
I ignored them. "What's all this commotion about?..." I whispered to myself, looking around the classroom for all the popular girls to be compacted around a certain desk... usually, no one sits there, Is there a new student perhaps? I've heard there was gonna be a new student but I never knew they took interest in art...
the teacher soon walked in from her little restroom break. "Everyone get out now!" The teacher pointed to the door and shooed the kids out.
I uncapped my water bottle and began to take a sip of it, I took a look at the desk that everyone was crowding and saw a very attractive person that I'd never seen before. The water shot out my mouth and I spit everywhere.
'Oh my fucking god y/n you did not just do that...' I thought to myself embarrassedly. Everyone in the class eyed me in disgust but the new kid seemed more worried than disgusted.
"Y/n, clean this up immediately!"The teacher stated, giving me a disappointed glare.
I blushed in embarrassment as I heard a few laughs. I grabbed a few paper towels and cleaned my mess as the teacher proceeded to teach.

'How can I be so stupid... can I blame myself though? He's really attractive I'm not even joking..' I thought as I continued to wipe my desk and the floor.
Class ended and I went on with the rest of the school day.
The bell rang, I walked out of my last class walking towards the exit. I felt a tap on my shoulder after I left the exit doors.
I jumped slightly at the sudden affection. I looked over to see the cute new kid.
I blush furiously as the embarrassing memory popped up immediately in my mind.
"Ah- hi umm.." I awkwardly looked up at him.
"Oh hello, you left your sketchbook in your first period, I just wanted to return it to you." The boy said, his lips curled up into a delicate smile.
"Oh Uhh, thanks," I responded blankly, taking the sketchbook from his hands.
"I couldn't help but look at your drawings, they are amazing... I can see why you entered art." The boy smiled once again.
"Thank you, that means a lot." I smiled back.
"Y/n, right? Your name is on the sketchbook." The boy questioned, I nodded.
"My name is Finney, Finney Blake, but you can call me Finn." Finney introduced.
"U-Um I got into the baseball team and we're having a game on Friday, I was wondering if you maybe wanna come?" Finney requested, looking down at his shoes anxiously before looking back at me.
"Oh- of course, yeah sure." I bit the inside of my lip, looking up at him nervously.
'I can't believe what happening right now...' I thought.
"Can I walk you home?" Finney asked.
I tilted my head, confused.
"Sure," I replied, a bit shocked. I had no friends at this school... I would get picked on a lot, and now I may have a friend by the end of today.

We began walking, side by side to my home.
It was an awkward silence for a moment until Finney spoke.
"So, what's your favorite color?" He asked, nervousness hitting his voice.
This made me laugh slightly, he only looked at me, confused.
"Nothing... it's just that was a stupid question." Finney gasped dramatically.
"Didn't think you were the kind to tease people." Finney nudged me in the shoulder slightly, I scoffed playfully, looking away from him.
He just grinned and looked into the distance.
"It's f/c," I muttered.
"Mines blue," Finney responded.
We just kept asking each other easy questions and questions about each other.
After a while, we finally arrived at my house.
"This is it, thanks, Finn." I gave him a gentle smile, looking into his eyes with sincerity, he only smiled softly before saying something.
"See you on Friday?" Finney questioned with a slight smirk plastering onto his perfect face.
"I'll be there," I say, as I walked up to my entrance door.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).

A sensitivity reader (someone who goes through your manuscript and assesses representations in your work) identified a number of issues surrounding the Filipino representation in BTM. I'm rewriting with the goal of creating a more authentic and respectful story.
