《Debut or Die [fan translation]》Chapter 144

TeStar came down from the stage and sat on the guest sofa of the talk show. However, the one holding the microphone... was Cha Yujin.
'Will that be okay??'
Even though she knew that Cha Yujin was the most fluent in English, she naturally became concerned.
However, Cha Yujin was quite competent.
Her younger brother sighed.
"Do you understand it?"
How could that be possible? She was just casually listening.
Still, the atmosphere was good.
'Cha Yujin, the atmosphere around him is different when he's speaking English.'
He felt much more relaxed and mature.
The short small talk was ending on the screen.
The host shrank on purpose and looked around. Laughter erupted from the audience.
Then, Park Moondae, who was sitting next to him, immediately picked up the microphone.
Clear English flowed out smoothly.
"Oh, my god?"
Kim Raebin's personal fan... no, the college student, who was now also Park Moondae's fan, almost shook the monitor.
"Wow, his English is quite f*cking good?"
"That's what I'm saying!!"
Unlike the college student, who was excited about his unexpected English skills, Park Moondae calmly continued the conversation.
On the screen, Kim Raebin awkwardly greeted the host.
'He's taking care of Raebin first.'
She didn't know the details of the context but it was clear just by listening to the video and the words.
While Cha Yujin approached the host, who was very devoted to his 'nerdy loser' concept, in a friendly way, and made excuses for Kim Raebin's gaze, Kim Raebin's words were interpreted by Seon Ahyun.
His English had a French accent.
'He also feels different when he speaks a foreign language.'
As in recent appearances, Seon Ahyun barely stuttered even while he was speaking a foreign language. Even with a slight hesitation and shyness, he was able to interpret.
Kim Raebin tilted his head with a blank expression, probably not understanding the situation.
"Ah, so cute!!"
"You think that's cute? He looks like he's about to extort money from you."
"Shut up."
The college student focused on the screen, ignoring her little brother.
Originally, the question was supposed to be about whether they had any plans to make a reappearance as the companion characters, but it was modified due to TeStar's answer to the previous question.
Park Moondae gave a calm, prepared answer.
Cha Yujin quickly cut in.
With Cha Yujin's affirmative incitement, the audience reflexively responded.
The host laughed at Cha Yujin's praise and the topic of the game ended.
And it was only then that a few self-introductions and greetings were exchanged, and they entered the closing phase.

As the band made sounds to get ready, TeStar members got up from the sofa smiling.
Then they started to take off their shoes.
"Oh??"
"Hey hey, didn't they just become shorter?"
The college student couldn't even afford to beat up her brother for his bullshit.
In the meantime, TeStar members on the screen removed their cardigans and jackets and put them on the sofa.
Then, wearing jeans and white short-sleeved T-shirts while barefoot, their outfits were unified.
Hwiik!
The reactions from the audience could be heard to the unexpected full-fledged preparations.
TeStar moved around quickly, holding the microphone they used for answering questions, and went into choreography formation.
The lights went off.
Above the crackling sound of the band touching the transmission, a slow and melancholy piano melody rose.
And movements close to contemporary dance began to unfold.
The modern dance choreography unfolded with simple clothes, jazz sounds, foreign languages, and live band music.
All elements were in synergy, and TeStar's performance looked more artistic than conceptual.
Even unfamiliar elements, that could make people reject it in this place, were buried so that they would be accepted as 'high quality'.
In addition, the strength of the K-pop genre, which enhanced the entertainment of watching and listening to the extreme, was indisputable. Especially for a group that could handle it well.
And TeStar was such a group.
Thanks to this, the moment the lights were turned on after the performance was over, the audience seats were filled with applause corresponding to 'enjoyable viewing'.
The host also came out applauding.
Thus, their appearance, which started with '127 Section', ended with 'TeStar'.
The screen turned into an advertisement, but the impression of the performance did not disappear easily.
'They tore it up.'
The college student hit the desk with her left hand and raised it.
And this response became the public opinion.
* * *
Since we arrived in the US, there were various schedules to be done here and there. After finishing a few things, the which we appeared on, aired.
Lying on the hotel bed, I checked public opinion in Korea.
First of all, a few cliched articles such as 'a successful appearance, a hot reaction' came out, hmm...
TeStar appeared in a video on a popular WeTube channel that reviewed overseas responses.
'I guess the reaction wasn't bad.'
Seeing that there were many videos like that, it seemed that we did not get blindly laughed at by the locals.
I found the performance video uploaded on .
'The number of views is pretty high.'

Even the one, that was not about 127 Section, had similar views. That was something I didn't expect.
Both videos were lined with English comments but it wasn't too hard to get a grasp of the atmosphere.
This was because I studied English in my spare time during this promotion.
'I can't waste the attribute that I already have.'
I was aware of this.
Since the mastery was about speed, the faster I learned it, the easier it would be to change it when the next attribute came out.
Of course, it wasn't anything outstanding since I didn't have enough time. I just learned enough to not be awkward with the words I memorized.
'Still, it was faster than I imagined.'
If I had something like this when I was still a college student, I would have been stuck in the library for half a year.
Anyway, therefore I read through the comments roughly.
Excluding the comments about 127 Section, the atmosphere was roughly like this.
'I thought they would hate us for 'looking gay'.'
Wasn't that the phrase that often came up when the locals watched K-pop videos? I also knew of it.
However, it seemed like the genre of the song was a benefit.
There were many programmers among the viewers of the show, and it was said that this kind of lo-fi jazz music was popular in their corners.
Anyway, overall... it was a huge success.
I also checked the domestic game community sites just in case, and it had completely softened up. Rather, some people came out to reminisce about the early atmosphere of the game.
'Drawing a line was helpful.'
The favor seemed to have been recovered since we did a good job showing the collaboration song live and people didn't have a mental breakdown about the OST or the characters.
TeStar fans, who were on the verge of setting a blade against the 127 Section game community, also subsided.
"What are you looking at so intently~?"
"The internet."
"Our performance?? It's good~"
Keun Sejin, who had showered, laid down on the bed next to me. This guy had arranged for us to randomly choose a hotel roommate for a WeTube video.
'Surprisingly, it doesn't bother me.'
It was a bit annoying and noisy, but our lifestyles were similar.
Keun Sejin asked with a cheerful voice.
"What do you think? Do you think our next album will do better?"
"I'm not sure. We have to do it to know."
"Hey, at times like this, you should say that everything is going to go well~"
Keun Sejin smiled refreshingly and started to look at his phone.
'Well, there's a high chance it's going to go well.'
As the video of received favorable reviews, it was noticeable that overseas K-pop fans were rapidly getting interested in TeStar. It was probably because we were recognized in a field that was not familiar with K-pop.
'That's how people usually feel.'
At this rate, I thought it would be okay to look forward to the music video view of the next album.
I shrugged and talked to Keun Sejin.
"I'm going to sleep."
"Okay, you can turn off the lights~"
I turned off the lights, laid down on the bed, and checked my phone again.
Since I was done with monitoring, I was going to check how the current domestic public opinion was going overall.
And I found out.
As TeStar began to take a bite at the K-pop overseas pie, there was a stir in Korea as well.
The debut song of a rookie male idol hit the jackpot in the music industry.
It was a Gold 1's group that finally made their debut.
'Oh.'
After checking it roughly, it wasn't the same as when TeStar debuted, but they were doing very well on the music charts.
The general consensus was that the song was so good.
'As long as they maintain the momentum, they'll succeed.'
Gold 1 was a really good guy, so this was a good thing.
And as I thought that far, my thoughts shifted to the other thing.
It was about the status abnormality.
If Chungryeo was right, the 4th status abnormality I would receive this time was going to be my last mission.
And judging by the patterns so far, the bar would certainly be even higher.
'...Then would it be better to receive the status abnormality now?'
That thought came up as I saw the responses from overseas and the late interests coming up from back home.
I thought that the next year or so could be the high point of our career.
Of course, like VTIC, we could continue to do better with endless growth, but I couldn't be so sure about that in this uncertain industry.
Still, I was almost certain that this year would go well.
'Hmm.'
First, I called for the status window pop-up.
//TN: I suddenly started to wonder if the other members ever think why Moondae is just staring at the air whenever he calls for the status window in front of other people.

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter.
