Katsuki was having a rough morning. It felt like his world was upside down.
For some reason Katsuki's blanket was a little too heavy and his pillow a little too cold. His room had too much light in it and his clothes felt a lil too tight on his skin.
And when breakfast came about suddenly Katsuki could hear everyone's chewing and his own. The sudden awareness of his own eating and the sounds of crunching and munching made him sick to his stomach. So bad Katsuki didn't want to eat for the rest of the day.
Katsuki's mind felt jumbled and upset. So upset in fact even Katsuki knew if he spoke, it wouldn't have been nice for anyone. So he stayed quiet, simple nods and glances when someone spoke to him.
Katsuki's squad was always the first to notice.
Kirishima being the one to notice it first this time. The red head was deep into a one sided conversation when he noticed the distant look in Katsuki's eyes as he nodded along to what Kirishima was speaking about.
"It's one of those days huh?" Kirishima asked as he ruffled Katsuki's hair, not expecting a response in turn but just letting Katsuki know Kirishima was aware of the situation at hand.
Katsuki just continued to stare forward as they walked towards the rest of the squad.
"Hey guys!" Kirishima yelled as he and Katsuki reached their destination.
"Kiri! Bakubabe!" Mina yelled as she ran up to them, hugging them both.
Kirishima smiled softly as slowly pulled Mina off of Katsuki yet still reciprocated with a side hug. "It's one of those days." Kirishima said as he put an arm around Mina.

Mina smiled and nodded, "Oh! Sorry Kats!"
"We can go back to the dorms if you want Kats." Sero suggested.
"Yeah we don't mind! Plus it'll be fun to get comfy and just chill." Kaminari agreed and already began to make his way back to the dorms.
"Hey! Wait for us Kami!" Mina yelled as she ran after him.
Kirishima smiled, his friends were a lot of things, but he's never once seen them do something that could further put Katsuki down the rabbit hole he called his mind.
The glossed over eyes were usually a dead give away. Kirishima was ashamed to say he didn't even notice when he and the blonde first walked out the dorms. If he did, he could have saved them the trouble of having to walk back.
"Stop worrying bro. It's one of those days, and it's okay if you didn't notice right away, not everyone can." Sero said softly as he put his arm around Kirishima.
Kirishima sighed, "The whole time we walked here he was silent, and I still didn't notice."
Sero shrugged, "I'm telling you, sometimes it's like that. Don't stress about it."
Kirishima nodded as leaned into Sero's arm, "I don't want him to fall down further in the trap he set in his own mind."
"I know, I know." Sero said as he comforted the red haired boy.
Sero understood why Kirishima was so worried. Katsuki's rough days, as they like to put it, have been a bit more frequent than usual. It worried Sero as much and it worried Kirishima. They were afraid Katsuki's rough days were going to turn into something worse, and they wouldn't know what to do with themselves if Katsuki got hurt because of it.
They made sure to message Aizawa any time Katsuki was having a rough day. Aizawa was Katsuki's legal guardian after the kidnapping, he kept a close eye on the blonde too. Aizawa also shared the same fear Sero and Kirishima were facing.

"Did you?" Kirishima asked as he glanced up at Sero.
Sero smiled knowingly, "Yup! He wants us to get him if anything takes a left turn, besides that just watch over Kats. You know what else he told me?"
Kirishima pouted softly, "What?"
"That Katsuki talks very highly about us, that we help the gray days get colorful again. So you're over here worrying about if you let down Katsuki when in truth, he thinks otherwise. Isn't that cool?" Sero asked with a cheeky smile.
Kirishima's eyes widened, a bright shine emoting for his eyes and smile, "For real?"
Sero laughed as hugged Kirishima closer, "Yup."
Kirishima smiled as he leaned further into Sero's grasp. Kirishima looked forward as he watched Kaminari and Mina chat happily, slowing their steps when they noticed Katsuki began to drag behind.
Even when Katsuki wasn't included in the conversation, they still gave him the feeling to be included.
When they chose to include him despite him not partaking in such, the glossed over look in his eyes sometimes fades, even if he chooses to stay nonverbal.
They loved Katsuki when he spoke, when he didn't. They loved him no matter if he was sad, happy, angry and calm. They loved Katsuki, and Katsuki loved them.
Rough days were rough. Kirishima knew that, Sero, Aizawa, they all knew it.
Yet even rainy days left rainbows.
