《Sinful |Klaus Mikaelson||》Rage

Light flooded through the windows of the lake house, angled perfectly as the sun began to make its journey down the sky. Klaus was caught in a daze, completely enamored by the love of his life sleeping peacefully in his arms. The light was illuminating her, as though she really was the angel he knew her to be. They were on the couch in the living room, sitting silently, while Hayley was in the other room searching through the papers and pictures they had found moments before. Klaus brushed hair off of Audrey's face and smiled as she scrunched her nose up and turned to bury her face into his chest. He held her close and leaned down to kiss her head lovingly. The smell of her lavender shampoo and conditioner flooded his nose, filling him with the familiar comfort their bond brought them. He hadn't notice her waking up until her arms were snaked around his waist and she was pressed closer to him. "Can we just stay like this forever?" She mumbled nuzzling against him.
"We have all of eternity together." Klaus reminded her with a playful smirk. She giggled and finally looked up at him. The moment their eyes met it was as though they were the only two people in the world. Love wrapped around them like the warm embrace they had each other in. Audrey reached up to caress his face and sat up so she could be eye level with him.
"There's no other way I'd rather spend my life than by your side, my love." She proclaimed with a loving smile. "I'm sorry I've been such a mess-," She started, but Klaus cut her off by kissing her deeply. When he pulled away he brought one of his hands up to caress her face.
"You don't ever need to apologize for grieving, Audrey. You could completely crumble and I would still be here to pick up all the pieces." Klaus assured her with the upmost confidence. As though she could love him even more, then he goes saying something like that? "You have my heart, body, and soul, love. I'd-," Lips met his before he could finish, not that he minded. He desperately missed his soulmate's loving affections. They began to get lost in each other, like they always do whenever they found themselves in this position. Sucked into a bubble of love, neither of them heard Hayley step into the room.
"Well, I see you seem to be feeling better." Hayley commented teasingly. Audrey immediately pulled back from Klaus, blushing madly as she looked towards her. "I found something if you wanna take a look." Audrey nodded, unable to find words as she composed herself and climbed off of her soulmate's lap. She followed Hayley into the study, noticing how nearly everything had been pulled out of the trunk. Laid across the desk was a huge piece of parchment paper. As Audrey got closer she realized it was a giant family tree. The Labonair Family Tree to be exact. It was huge, it covered the entire desk and even went off the sides
"Holy shit." Audrey gasped, instantly she felt the warmth of Klaus behind her as he sped into the room. She leaned against him out of habit, wanting nothing more than to just melt away with him. He examined the paper too, eyes widening when he saw how far back it traced. Audrey's eyes wandered over the paper until she reached the end of it and found her birth name along with Hayley's. Her finger traced over the elegant font, scripted in gold. "I've had a lot of surprises in my life, but this one takes the cake." Audrey sighed to herself.

"Do you notice anything weird about this?" Hayley asked her cautiously. Audrey examined the paper again and saw that while all the names were etched in gold, her and Hayley's names were the only ones glowing.
"Wait is this enchanted?" Audrey asked her, Hayley nodded. Klaus reached out to touch the parchment and immediately felt it's magical essence.
"Ancient magic at that." He chimed in. "500 AD was before my family's time." He said as he pointed to where the paper started. They were all stunned for a moment.
"Well, looks like we have a lot of digging around to do. Let's pack all of this up and take it to the mansion. The longer I stay in this house the more anxious I get." Audrey stated, eyes going to Hayley. "You can come with us and stay however long you'd like. We have more than enough space now that it's just the two of us." Audrey offered with a friendly smile.
"A couple hours ago you were going for my throat, now you want me to stay with you?" Hayley asked her with disbelief.
"It was wrong of me to blame you for my brothers death. Katherine and Elena are the only ones responsible," Audrey answered. "Besides, we're family and family never turns their back on one another." Hayley stared at her, unsure on what to do next. Eventually she sighed with defeat.
"Okay, it's not like I have anywhere else to go anyways." She said causing Audrey's smile to widen.
-
It took 20 minutes to pack the everything up and a hour to get back home. Audrey and Hayley spent the entire time talking with each other, trying to find out as much as they could about the other. Klaus didn't mind though, in fact he enjoyed how enthusiastic Audrey was being. The light was slowly coming back to her eyes, bringing a sense of relief for himself. When they pulled up to the mansion they were all surprised to see Caroline standing on the steps still wearing her cheerleading uniform.
"Uh oh, my spidey senses are telling me she's here about Elena." Audrey sighed causing Hayley to chuckle at her. The trio got out of the car once it was parked and made their way towards the blonde. Caroline stared at them with the upmost confusion once she saw Hayley.
"Wait what?" She asked Audrey, finger slowing raising to point at the werewolf.
"Umm it's an extremely long story, tell me why you're here first!" Audrey cheered drawing her attention off from Hayley.
"Elena is a stupid bitch!!" Caroline shouted with frustration. "She dropped me on my head during the cheerleading competition and fed on someone in broad daylight! We have to do something about her!" Audrey blinked a few times processing the information her best friend just told her. Suddenly a rage unlike anything she's ever felt bubbled inside of her.
"Caroline the last thing I want to do is help her, if that's what you're asking. I want to drive a stake through her selfish heart." Audrey growled shocking the blonde. "Do you know how much we've all sacrificed for her? My entire family is gone because of her!" Caroline gave Audrey a look of sympathy before stepping closer to grab her hand.
"You're right okay and I agree with you, but right now we're out numbered." Caroline sighed making Audrey's eyes widen with shock. "I'm so tired of everyone always having to cater to her. I know I don't have the best track record at being a good friend, but my god, hers is worst! How was I always referred to as the selfish one when our lives always had to revolve around her?"

"You had your moments, don't get me wrong, but I never thought you were more selfish than her." Audrey assured her.
Off to the side Hayley and Klaus were watching them with amusement. "Isn't Elena, Audrey's sister?" Hayley asked the hybrid quietly.
"No, ironically enough, she's her cousin like you are." Klaus answered.
"Are we really outnumbered though, when we have my strong, handsome, hybrid, original, soulmate?" Audrey asked as her eyes went to Klaus who was smirking smugly at her. "I'm sure he's dying for a reason to rip her apart after what she did to his brother, right my love?"
"You're absolutely right darling, but I also know that you're running off 13 years of suppressed rage and aggression right now. You're not in your right state of mind and could end up doing something you regret." Klaus replied as he walked up to her. He wrapped both arms around her waist and brought her close.
"Since when are you the voice of reason?" Audrey teased with an adoring smile. She wrapped her arms around his neck ready to bring him in for a kiss, until she remembered the blonde standing right beside her.
"Wait? 13 years of suppressed rage and aggression? What's he talking about?" Caroline questioned her best friend, eyes darting between her and her soulmate. Audrey untangled herself from Klaus and turned to face Caroline again.
"Caroline, from the time I got off the phone with you earlier today it has been nothing but chaos." Audrey sighed dramatically. "Klaus brought Hayley over because she has information about Katherine and when I found out about this I reacted in a way I never have before. It's like I had all of this sudden energy and strength fueled by rage. As soon as I went for her throat we were thrown from each other and the locket I always wear was red hot and burning. Klaus determined it to be enchanted and also realized that the birthmark on the back of my right shoulder means something. Caroline, I'm a fucking werewolf and not only that, but my dad had an affair with another woman and that's how I came to be. That other woman is Hayley's biological aunt meaning her and I are cousins!"
"WHAT!?" Caroline shouted after a moment of silence. "Wait back up, why was the locket red hot and burning?"
"Whoever enchanted it used very powerful magic, but the thing about werewolf packs, especially ones with royal bloodlines, is that whenever they're near one of their own it unlocks an instinctive bond. One that gives way to a powerful force. You don't even have to trigger the curse to feel it either, it's ingrained in their DNA." Klaus explained to the blonde as he snaked an arm around his soulmate, who leaned against him seeking the feeling only he could provide. "Love, do you happen to remember why you were given the locket? Something had to spark your aggression for your father to give you this."
Audrey thought about it for a moment before a light went off inside her head. "It was right after I got into trouble at the park. I remember wondering why I was getting a gift after doing something bad. Jeremy was getting picked on by a group of older kids and when I heard them I stepped in and pushed one of the kids off the jungle gym. Luckily, he wasn't seriously hurt but his mother gave my dad an earful. The next day he gave me the locket and made me promise to never take it off no matter what."
"I remember that day," Caroline said softly with realization. "Your mom came over and was crying to my mom about it. I was being nosy and eavesdropped from the other room. I remember hearing Miranda sob and it shocked me because I had never seen your mom anything besides happy and smiling."
Audrey took a moment to absorb the newfound information, before a sadness began to take hold. "I can't believe how strong she was. My dad literally had an entire affair that resulted in me and she stayed with him and raised me as her own. I can only imagine how painful it was to look at me every day and be reminded of what he did."
"Are you kidding? I knew your mom and she would never resent you for something your dad did. If anything, she would know that you are the one who's completely innocent. It's not like you asked to be born, Audrey." Caroline insisted, grabbing her best friend by the shoulders.
"I know, I just can't wrap my head around it. Although it makes sense now, why my dad and I spent so much time together. I mean there were days when he'd take just me out of the house and we would go do something." Audrey sighed running a hand through her hair.
"Your parents did everything right if they made you feel always loved." Klaus chimed in drawing her attention to him.
"You're right. I wish you had that same experience too." Audrey said thoughtfully. "You didn't deserve the anger and hate, Mikael showed you. You were an innocent child bearing the weight of your mother's indiscretions on your shoulders." Caroline released her friends shoulders and stepped back, watching as Klaus brought a hand up to caress his soulmate's face. The blonde made her way over to the confused looking Hayley.
"I'd suffer through it all over again, knowing that someday I'd have you to call mine. All these old scars and wounds were healed the moment you came into my life." Klaus admitted passionately. Hayleys eyes widened and she looked at Caroline.
"Are they always like this?" She whispered in shock.
"Oh yeah. Ever since they found out they're soulmate's they've been lovesick idiots." Caroline answered quietly.
"I heard that." Klaus snapped suddenly, eyes glaring at the two girls gossiping to the side. It was almost frightening how he could be so loving one moment and murderous the next
"Also, if you're staying here, I'd choose the farthest room from their bedroom. They have a tendency to screw like rabbits." Caroline said louder this time so both of them could hear.
"Caroline!" Audrey shouted, her cheeks reddening by the second.
"What? It's not like you were gonna tell her. She should at least be warned." Caroline teased her best friend.
"You make it sound like we're sex crazed deviants or something." Audrey said flustered.
"You kind of are though. I mean did you not sneak away from Miss Mystic Falls just to screw each other's brains out?" Caroline asked, hands going to her hips, as she shot Audrey a pointed look.
"I try telling her no and she just ends up mauling me." Klaus lied, feigning innocence. "Quite the insatiable appetite on this one." Hayley and Caroline laughed while Audrey glared at her soulmate with bright red cheeks.
"You're awful!! As though I'm the only insatiable one. All I have to do is look your way and you want to drag me into some dark corner and do the most sinful things!" Audrey exclaimed, trying to deflect the attention onto Klaus. He smirked proudly, unbothered by her comment. He opened his mouth to say something in return, but quickly glanced at the two girls beside them and shut it. As much as he wanted to continue their flirtatious banter, he didn't want an audience any longer. Audrey could read his eyes though and knew exactly what he was thinking. The way they darkened when he locked them on her made an intense heat erupt through her body.
"Gross. I hate both of you." Caroline gagged teasingly. Before anything more could be said, both Caroline and Audrey received messages on their phones. They both checked them at the same time to see a mass message sent out by none other than, Elena.
"Why is she throwing a party at Stefan and Damon's?" Audrey questioned curiously.
"If she's wanting to feed off people what better way to do it than by getting a bunch of teenagers drunk." Hayley chimed in finally drawing all of the attention onto herself.
"Oh my god, you're right! I need to call Stefan and form a game plan. Are you going to join us?" Caroline asked Audrey.
"Hell no. If I see Elena, I'll kill her." Audrey growled, feeling that anger from before spark.
"Fine, fair enough. I'll call you later and let you know how everything goes." Caroline sighed as she grabbed Audrey to hug her. "I love you!"
"I love you too." Audrey smiled, hugging her friend back. As soon as they pulled away from each other, Caroline was in her car taking off.
"So much for family never turning their back on each other, huh?" Hayley commented in a snarky tone, her distrust from earlier coming back.
"Listen, with Elena it's complicated. At this point she's dead to me." Audrey growled. "She's the reason everyone in my family is dead. I've always had to pretend it was okay but losing Jeremy made me realize that I can't do it anymore. Besides, she killed my soulmate's brother and never once thought about how it would affect me or him. She sent my little brother and my friends on a suicide mission so she could get the cure to immortality. She's the most self absorbed, egotistical, bitch, I've ever known." She hadn't realized how worked up she was getting again until Klaus placed a hand on the back of her shoulder, immediately soothing the fire inside her.
"You don't need to explain yourself, love." Klaus said calmly. His eyes darted to Hayley and narrowed as though challenging her to say something else. "Come on, let's unload all this inside." He suggested, motioning towards the car packed with stuff. All three of them headed to the car as Audrey popped the trunk open. She and Hayley both filled their arms with stuff to carry inside but before either of them got to the door, Klaus had used his speed to carry the rest inside.
"I can't wait until I'm able to do that too." Audrey huffed as she set the boxes down in the foyer. Klaus smirked at her and shrugged nonchalantly. "Where should we put all of this?"
"There's a study through there." Klaus said as he directed them to a room down the hallway. Both girls grabbed their boxes again and followed the hybrid. The room that led into the study had many easels and paintings up, Audrey noticed Hayley looking at them all in wonder.
"Amazing, right?" The human hummed softly. Hayley nodded in agreement. "Klaus paints them all, he's so talented. He even has one of his paintings hanging in a museum! The Hermitage, have you been? I want to go and see for myself! I bet people marvel at it like I do with all of these ones." Audrey was becoming giddy the more she talked about him and Hayley couldn't help but admire that about her, even if she did find the hybrid to be despicable. Klaus felt his chest warm, an indescribable feeling filled him as he heard his soulmate talk highly of him. It made him want to walk with pride. Once they all entered the study, they set their boxes down on the massive table in the middle of the room.
"Where should we start? I have so many letters to read over, but these random gold coins are intriguing me right now." Audrey chuckled as she held the old looking velvet sack up. "Everything else makes sense, but what the hell are these for?" Klaus caught a glimpse of gold etching and snatched the bag from her hands. He turned it over and saw the faint initials stitched into the sack.
"I don't believe this." He muttered with shock.
