《Law of God (Book 1)》Chapter Forty-Three

After I had finished my last round of chemotherapy, which lasted two months, I went into remission again a month later and headed back to work. Before I continued my treatment, I had to tell Charlie over the phone that I needed to take a break from work after I had thrown up that day on the first week of my chemo retreatment and that I needed to take time off because I lied to him again about my cancer, and I told Charlie that I needed to take a break from work because I needed to take care of my fake injured brother, when I didn't say it was fake.
Charlie understood, and asked me for how long. I told him it may be a couple of months, that Jacob was in need of help with his physical therapy appointments, and I needed to take care of him. Charlie was not just my boss, but he was my friend and told me to take off work for as long as I can. I thanked Charlie, and hung up on him.
I haven't been able to stop thinking about Jacob possibly going to prison. Before I headed back to work, I had been trying my hardest to keep myself focused on what I needed to say during the trial to make the jury believe that Jacob is innocent.
I have searching for clues on what happened to Izza for quite some time. But just two days before the trial began, Jacob had been acting very strangely and I had no reason to believe that he was hiding something from me.
But Jacob started slowly to begin to fade away from the world. Jacob started acting weird towards me and I kept on finding out who shawtystary5 was.
One later that night, it was on an evening thirty six hours before Jacobs trial. Jacob told me he was going to the movies with Marlo, and it was on a school night.
Jacob had left the house alone, and I didn't want him to be walking around with Marlo late at night. I asked Jacob if Marlo's parents were going to be at the movies with him and Marlo, Jacob said they were.
After Jacob had left my house, Jacob had gone to the movies with Marlo and his parents. Marlo and his parents picked Jacob up from my house.
After I made sure Jacob had completely left the house, Jacob had forgotten his cell phone, and I searched through the private messages between Jacob and this anonymous person, I noticed Jacob has been talking about where they're going to be meeting at.
I sighed, I didn't want to believe it. But is Jacob actually going to meet that anonymous person who was the only one who possibly knows about who actually killed Izza?
But what if it must be some set up? I eventually have gotten to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore.
I had put in the address in the navigator in my phone, and I put on my jacket, I grabbed my wallet, and car keys and I sort of immediately walked quickly out of my house.
But Jacob lied about wanting to go to the movies with Marlo and his parents. Jacob told Marlo and his parents to drop him off at the address the anonymous person gave him.
As soon as I got into my car, I shut the door. I immediately cranked up the engine, but my car didn't want to start.
As soon as Jacob was dropped off at the location, Jacob thanked Marlo and his parents and they left them there where Jacob was standing in front of the woods.

It was dark, cold, and very quiet and Jacob started walking into the woods alone, and Jacob could feel the cold air hitting his body.
Brrrr.
Jacob had taken his jacket and he zipped it up to keep himself warm. Jacob was even wearing long pants, some gloves, a hat and a scarf.
I kept on trying to crank the engine, and my car still wouldn't turn on. I cranked up the engine once again, and I groaned, sighing at the same time.
Jacob noticed there were footsteps on the ground, he could tell in the snow. It was snowing outside, and I eventually got my car to run.
I immediately put on my safety belt before I backed out of the garage and went looking for the location Jacob was going to.
As Jacob's cell phone was inside my house, the text was saying: You're getting closer, but you're getting closer to find out the truth.
Jacob had been walking in the woods for the past five minutes and thirty five seconds. Jacob sighed, and he stopped walking for a minute, before he had to figure out which way to turn after there were two footsteps this time.
Jacob frowned, feeling confused as he didn't think there were going to be one or more people. Jacob thought he was only going to be meeting with this one guy who knows about Izza's murder and why she was murdered.
But Jacob then began to feel scared, and he wasn't sure if he could continue to follow the footsteps. I continued driving, and followed the navigator where she was telling me to turn and stop.
Jacob was pretty bad about taking his cell phone with him when needed. I kept on reminding Jacob to take his cell phone to anywhere he goes. I sighed, as I continued driving and the narrator said that I was only fifteen miles away until I reached my destination.
As Jacob continued to walk down the path of footsteps, he noticed there was a small shiny light shining on the ground and Jacob sighed.
Jacob still wasn't sure if he should turn back around and walk away from where Jacob was standing or he should continue to walk to where the light was shining and Jacob slowly stopped walking towards the light as he got closer to it, and he recognized a voice.
After Jacob noticed it was a cell phone lying on the ground, he noticed a video of Izza. Izza was all smiling and happy, and she was dancing, and singing.
Jacob bent on his knees to grab the cell phone (who Jacob thinks the cell phone belonged to the anonymous person), and watched the video of Izza who no longer calls Jacob his girlfriend.
As soon as I got closer to the destination, I parked my car onto the side of the road, and I stood out of my car, before shutting the door, and I shouted for Jacob's name.
As Jacob continued to watch the video of Izza, Jacob took his finger and started rubbing it against the screen where Izza was singing.
Jacob then remembered it was exactly the same video of Izza's Instagram, and Jacob sighed, closing his eyes and he whispered, "I miss you," at the video.
I then continued to search for Jacob. I noticed the footsteps as well and I followed them to wherever they were taking me.
Jacob then heard someone coming towards him, and I continued to search for Jacob. I called out Jacob's name once again, and I asked Jacob where he was, shouting.

Jacob then kept standing there in the middle of the forest, and Jacob was feeling scared all over again, "hello, is anyone there?" Jacob asked.
Jacob heard footsteps form the other side and he gasped, jumping and once again asked if anyone was there with him or asked whoever was there what they wanted.
I slowly continued walking in the forest. I could not find Jacob anywhere, so I pulled out my phone from my pocket and I called the police.
Jacob still continued to hear footsteps. Jacob even heard the wind blowing. It was currently thirty degrees outside. It was cold, and freezing, and I had to continue to search for Jacob.
Jacob kept slowly spinning in circles, and Jacob kept on spinning, gasping for air, and he was freezing all at once.
And just like that, there was this woman who had walked up to Jacob. It was Heather, Heather Baker!!
"He-Heather?" Jacob asked, frowning, still continuing to gasp for air, "Wha-what are you doing here?" I asked.
After I had dialed nine one one, I continued looking for Jacob. Heather was still talking to Jacob, "Oh Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, you must feel like a complete idiot right now, don't you?"
Heather asked, sort of evil laughing.
"Wait, wait, you're the one who killed Izza? Ryan was right, you're the one who killed Izza!" Jacob said, sort of loudly.
"I guess you could say that, and thanks to my partner here, he was super helpful for helping me out, even though you were stupid enough to believe it," Heather said, turning to Detective Sailor, who was apart of the whole plan of murdering Izza," Heather said, pointing to Detective Sailor who I knew was a corrupt detective.
"No, I, wha-what, why?" Jacob says.
"Oh, you don't remember?" Heather asked.
"Remember what?" Jacob asked, wondering. Heather chuckled, and she walked into circles around Jacob. Detective Sailor was holding a gun, and was pointing at Jacob.
"You should be able to remember, Jacob, a young man like you shall have a good memory of when your brother filed a police complaint against my son, who I had to say goodbye to after he died in a prison!" Heather said, angrily.
"Your son? What are you talking about? You said your son was sent to prison because of a felony assault," Jacob said.
Heather laughed at Jacob, "And again, you were to stupid to believe it." As soon as I got closer to where Jacob was standing, I noticed he had a gun pointed at him. It was Detective Sailor that was pointing a gun at Jacob.
After I saw Jacob, with a gun pointed at him, I immediately continued approaching Jacob.
"I was only six, Heather, I was just a little boy, when all of this happened, I didn't even know that my brother....." Jacob was interrupted by Heather, after Heather told Jason to shut his mouth.
I immediately walked up to Jacob, and I stood in front of him, protecting Jacob as I pleaded with Heather to not hurt Jacob, over some car accident.
"Oh, look at that, big brother to the rescue," Heather said, laughing. I asked Heather why she was being so defensive about the situation of her son being sent to prison, and Heather shouted at me telling me that it wasn't Jason's fault who killed our parents.
I remembered Jason Meadows, who was responsible for killing my parents.
"Wait? Jason?"
Heather was breathing heavily, "Yes, you took my son away from me," Heather said.
"Oh my gosh, what- your, your name isn't Heather Baker, you're, you're that woman who attended our parents funeral eight years ago."
I had another flashback of Heather, whose name is really Sally, "Youtold me your name was Sally, but you never told me your last name, now I know who you are, you're Jason's mother," I said to Sally.
Sally chuckled, laughing, and she got quiet, feeling all aggravated and angry at me. "You're the one who killed Izza, because you wanted for Jacob to feel the pain you felt after your son died," I said to Sally.
Sally still didn't say a word, and she started to tear up. I chuckled, nodding my head.
"I think you have to understand that Jason killed our parents because of some stupid mistake, and you killed Izza, you knew it wasn't going to bring your son back, but you killed her anyways," I said to Sally.
Sally took a deep breath, and sighed, and her eyes kept on glancing at Detective Sailor.
"It's your fault! It's all your fault! You should've never told the cops about my son, and thanks to you, he's dead because of you!!" Sally said, shouting.
I swallowed, and I sighed, " What are you talking about? Sally, please just, you wanted to protect your son, and I didn't report him, Jason confessed to the police himself," I said to Sally.
"I don't believe you. You're lying," Sally said.
"I'm not, because I spoke to him at the prison he was in. He confessed, he told me while I was visiting him," I said to Sally, furiously.
" I lost someone I loved because of you, I lost my baby, you took my baby away from me," Sally said, continuing to shout, and began crying.
"Sally, please, just listen to me. I forgave Jason, okay. I know that isn't enough to bring Jason back, but please don't do this, let's just, let's just talk about this, and we can sort everything out when the police get here," I said, softly.
"No!" Sally became angry when she kept on glancing over at Detective Sailor's gun.
"Sally?"
Sally kept glancing over at the gun. "Sally?" I said once again, panicking and worried.
Detective Sailor was still pointing the gun at Jacob and I, and Sally screamed, running up to Detective Sailor grabbing the gun from him and she pointed the gun at Jacob and I.
"Sally, please, please don't do this," I said, shouting, and Sally was shaking uncontrollably and she was angry, confused and scared all at once.
"Please don't do this, Sally, I understand that Jason is not going to be coming back, but this isn't the way to handle this, this isn't the way to deal with the consequences of your son being gone forever and I know how it feels to lose someone you loved and cared about so much," I said to Sally, furiously, rapidly talking.
"It is your fault!" Sally said, shouting, continuing to cry.
"I know you were just trying to protect your son," I said to Sally.
"I miss him," Sally said, tears shedded from her eyes as it streamed down her face.
"I know, I know you do, (I slowly walked up to Sally, hoping to take the gun away from her), but Sally got even more angry and started shooting and it got to the point where Sally went too far. Jacob was shot and I shouted Jacob's name, and I ran up to him after Jacob had fallen onto the ground and began bleeding to death.
Sally then came up to me, and pointed the gun at me. Jacob was gasping for air from the gunshot. I took off my jacket immediately and I put some pressure on the front of Jacob's chest, as he was bleeding out.
"Sally, please, don't let this get any worse," I began to cry. Jacob started to cough up blood, and I kept telling him to stay awake for me.
"Thanks to you, you made my son confess, my son was innocent, and now I am going to make you suffer like I did," Sally said, angrily. Sally then pointed the gun at Jacob, who was wanting to kill him completely.
"Noooooo!!!!" I said, shouting, the top of my lungs, and eventually Sally was shot by a cop and Sally fell to the ground, and was still alive somehow, and the cop asked me if I was okay, and he spoke into the walkie talkie telling one of his teams that they needed to call an ambulance immediately.
So Jacob was never the killer. I knew all along Jacob was innocent. Izza was killed because Sally wanted for Jacob to feel her pain about losing someone she cared about after she had lost Jason.
The other reason why Sally had wanted to hurt Jacob, was because eight years ago, Jason confessed to the police about how he was the one who was responsible for killing my parents, after he had left the scene of a DUI accident.
Shortly after he had left the scene, the police couldn't find Jason, because maybe he had changed his name or something. Jason was feeling guilty over the fact he killed my parents. After Jason had come into the police station to confess about a hit and run, the police had arrested Jason as a suspect in the DUI accident, he was sent to prison.
The reason why Jason's name was changed, is because Sally was covering up her son's crime, because she didn't want to lose Jason.
I was questioned by the police about what happened at tonight's incident. Jacob was eventually put into the ambulance and was rushed to the hospital. I followed the ambulance to the hospital, and Jacob was taken into the emergency room and was eventually transported to the intensive care unit.
Jacob was into an induced coma; and I would visit him in the hospital almost every day. Jacob was in a coma for about two months until he one day woke up.
After Jacob came home from the hospital, Jacob had to do physical therapy to help himself walk again. It took months of work, eventually Jacob was feeling better enough to head back to school.
Now everyone in our town who looked at Jacob as the accuser, looks at Jacob as a hero.
It felt good to have our normalcy all over again. And just closer to the end, I asked Mandy to be my wife. Jacob was able to walk normally again, I was very lucky to not lose my brother. I wouldn't be able to continue with my life if Jacob was not alive anymore.

This is the first story I'm ever putting out for public consumption so reader beware on that. Any constructive criticism is always appreciated, simply leaving a half star review tells me that you're a moron who doesn't know how to use words. I'm constantly trying to improve my writing and feedback and criticism on what works and what doesn't is the only way to do that at the point I feel I am at. Last, I just marked all the content warnings because you never know where a story will take you and I don't want to exclude anything (though there will never be a harem). I am going to release 1-2 chapters per week on Fridays. Thanks and enjoy.

The Tales of YAP: The Superhero Series
“Listen well, and listen kindly, for my story is a story of contradictions; of the dead becoming alive and the weak becoming strong. Likewise, those nominated as the strong are reduced into the weakest of foes. And lovers, those sweet companions, are nothing but crazed psychopaths. This is the type of story I will tell. The story only I can speak of for it is solely mine. And now, as I recount it to you, thence forth it shall belong to all that hear of it. Listen well, then, for I shall begin.”Sooo, that’s it. The world isn’t what it is. The dead are alive. The weak become strong. And bla bla bla. The normal days of a superhero-in-training, I suppose. I hope you have a bit of patience because my story is a long one, and it starts out in the same old, boring world. My name is Yassi Anne P. Sorento, and this is my story before I became the superhero I am today. (First posted on Webnovel with the same title and under the name, Hua_Li_An.)
