Everyone in our families came closer. Mom and Chachi offered gifts and jewellery to Myra. She smiled and accepted them gracefully.

They made us eat the sweets and then the engagement rings were brought on a beautiful platter.

It was the most beautiful and one of the most expensive rings in our collection.

Everyone gasped at the ring and the jewellery, mom and Chachi had given her.

" Manik, what happened Beta?? " Viraj uncle said.

" Nothing, uncle! I was looking for Mihir. He went away to get something but has not come back yet. " I said.

" Oh, see he is coming. " Uncle said and I saw him coming and Roshni was following him.

She had no expression on her face and was not even looking at me. They joined us. But she kept looking at Myra. Her behaviour was a bit different.

Mom gave me the ring and asked me to slide it on Myra's ring finger.

I stretched my hand and she placed her hand on mine. I looked around and saw that Roshni had absolutely no expression on her face. She didn't even look at me.

I slid the ring on Myra's hand and she smiled while others clapped.

Now it was her chance to make me wear the ring.

" Myra beta, now make him wear the ring too. " Maya aunty said.

But when I stretched my hand, she gasped and my mom and Chachi looked shocked.

" Manik, what happened to your hand, it is so swollen and bruised? " Mom asked.

Myra did that, and everyone applauded and congratulated us. I again looked at Roshni and she was standing there with a smile but was looking at Myra continuously.

Just then they all started dispersing.

Once our families and relatives left us alone, our friends surrounded us. They teased us, I was not in the mood for all this. But I didn't want to hurt them. So I kept smiling while my eyes followed Roshni. She came to us.

" Congratulations, Manik Ji, I am so glad you got what you wanted. It must be a good feeling to be able to get engaged to someone you really want in your life, isn't it?? You tell me, how are you feeling, Myra and Manik Ji? "

" On top of the world... " Myra said.

" You must be crazy about him, to feel like that. " She said looking at her. I don't know why but her tone was very sarcastic.

Roshni left once she congratulated both of us.

" And do you think that's more than enough for a good married life? I didn't tell anyone as you wanted to wait and you agreed to have this surprise engagement? You didn't even think about what I want?? " I said.

" As Viren was feeling very guilty, he convinced everyone for the surprise engagement. " She got serious when she felt that I was annoyed and gave me another explanation.

" You didn't even bother to ask my concern too? How can you do that? Do you really even want to get married to me and spend your whole life with me? " I asked

" What is the problem?? You also wanted to go ahead in this relationship, right?? " She asked me as I was getting more and more annoyed.

The live music was on and some of the couples joined the dance floor. Mohit uncle pulled Srusti aunty to the dance floor and gradually my mom and dad, chachu and chachi and Myra's parents also joined them.

I looked around and saw that Sahaj asked her for a dance, she shook her head but that idiot insisted and literally pulled her to the dance floor.

I was scared that she might break down due to heartbreak but I was shocked to see that she was smiling and enjoyed herself a lot.

She looked absolutely normal, Though it felt good that she looked normal, it was weird, she is not like that.

Something was not right. I saw that Vihaan and Mohak went to her again and started flirting with her.

Mohak said something and she smiled shyly looking so beautiful that I could not take my eyes off her.

They both seemed to be flirting with her. I really wanted to break their jaws for doing so, but she was absolutely comfortable and was smiling at both of them.

Smiling?? Good ... But... Well, I had not expected to see her smiling like that. And if I was getting affected by that smile, other men may also see how beautiful and lovely she is.

We all came back home. And since everyone was tired, they all went to their rooms. I waited for some time to make sure that everyone is settled.

After about ten minutes, I went to meet Roshni as I needed to talk to her after what happened.

I was shocked at how everything changed, last night, I was very happy and was planning to talk to my chachu and Chachi regarding my feelings for Roshni and today... I was very upset.

I knocked at the door but there was no answer. After waiting for two minutes, I knocked again. But still, there was no answer.

What happened to her?? I opened the door but she was not there.

Then I checked Mahi's room. But she was not there either.

What was wrong with her, she is never in her room. I kept looking for her everywhere and I found her in the garden talking to someone on the phone.

I went to her and the moment she saw me coming towards her, she got up and ran in the opposite direction.
