《I Can Make You Smile (David x Reader)// CAMP CAMP》36

After pulling up my sleeves to wash up for the day, space kid ran in, vomit trapped in his helmet,
"Oh god, child!" I screamed before helping him pull it off, attempting to keep all digested food in the fishbowl, "Why didn't you take off your helmet when you were feeling sick??" I questioned.
"We were doing the gallon challenge and I thought I could make it." He answered. I pinched my nose before wetting a washcloth,
"Why not do a nice, simple challenge that you won't throw up with. Like the ice bucket or maybe the chubby bunny." I suggested, wiping down Space kid.
"Those ones are dead, Samuel."
"(Y/N). But that doesn't mean they're not fun- and a bit safer." I paused, "Okay, whatever, how about you guys go do the birdbox challenge, enjoy yourselves and try not to die, but just don't throw up and tell me how long you last." I mothered, cleaning the rest of Space kid and his helmet, "And don't put your helmet back on for a while-" I paused, examining the glass, "Actually I'll keep it, for now, run along."
He nodded, "Thank you, Samuel." And with that, he left.
"I-" I sighed, "(Y/N)... Its (Y/N)."
After cleaning up a bit more, I left the mess hall. It was surprisingly hot today, and that ice bucket challenge honestly sounded nice.
Maybe I can convince some of the campers for the challenge, I do enjoy the interactions.
Speaking of-
David stood by the camp mobile, talking to the main trio, holding some flowers. I tilted my head slightly as I approached.
"Flowers?" I asked, utterly disrupting their conversation. David turned to me before gently placing the flowers in my hand,
"For you, I wanna take you on a date tonight."
"Not even gonna ask?"
David laughed nervously, his face flushing slightly, "Well, (Y/N), do you-?"
"Yes, David." I laughed. Max pretended to barf.
"I would be disgusted by the idea of your date plans, but on the contrary, I'm pretty sure it's just some sort of Ken doll situation down there," Niel said, pointing to David's crotch, admittedly causing my eyes to slide down and question it myself.
David embarrassingly covered himself, putting up a hostile expression, "Well, you're wrong!"
Nikki intertwined her fingers, "Sooo where are you guys gonna go?"
David paused, "I actually haven't picked a place yet."
"I noticed a restaurant while we were in town," Niel suggested. Max nudged him slightly,
"Don't encourage him."
"That's the perfect place!" David's eyes lit up as Max grumbled,

"Goddammit. I'm out." Max then trudged away, Nikki and Niel closely following. With David's back towards me, my eyes trailed.
I slapped his butt.
He jerked forward, his eyes widening with a small shriek. I burst out into loud laughter, holding my stomach as if it would contain the joy.
He glared slightly, a small smile on his face but an ever-present blush.
//
Dressing in a T-Shirt and shorts was the best I was going to do for looking nice, and it honestly didn't bother me.
We went to 'Still the only bar'
Which I honestly had to smile at the title, David didn't seem as amused but that's probably because he's been here many more times.
Seeing Nikki with a mustache only arose even more laughter, it made my cute level way too high, I couldn't help from tap her head as I walked by.
We sat down together, Niel weirdly being our waiter like the owner of the place was fine with it. They eventually left us, sitting at their own table.
"So, Davey, Baby, what brought up the idea of a date?" I asked, taking one end the straw's wrapper off.
"Well-" he was caught off by me blowing the straw wrapper at his chest. He laughed for a moment before taking the wrapper and fidgeting it between his fingers.
"Well-" he paused once again, like getting words out was difficult. My playful mood was starting to be replaced with worry,
"Everything okay?" I asked.
"We have what? 30 days of summer left?" He asked. I looked away, thinking momentarily before giving up on counting in my head, I instead simply gave a small nod.
"What happens after summer?" He asked. I smiled gently,
"I come back next summer, or I visit you constantly out of summer." I shrugged. "I know everything will turn out okay."
He looked away momentarily before giving a smile.
"C'mon, you're the positive one, why's this bothering you?"
He shrugged, before looking to me, "So, what would you like to eat?" He asked. I scanned my menu,
"Spaghetti sounds good, let's lady and the tramp this shit."
He laughed gently, "I'll take that too."
A girl with pink hair then approached, a wide grin taking over her features,
"You love birds ready to order?"
"Yeah." David smiled.
A tall lady in a trench coat then approached, very familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on it. She leaned over my space, facing David,
"Hey, there sexy, see anything you like?" She asked. I narrowed my eyes, halfway into standing,

"Who the fuck do you-"
"Umm, do I know you?" David question.
"No, do you want to?" The person then attempted to take a drink from my water, choking on it in the process. "Plenty more where that came from."
"Woah, no, back the fuck up." I fully stood at this point, pressing my index finger on the woman's chest.
"Jeez, what tipped you-"
"Your face tipped me that's what, now the cutie right there is mine, I ask that you back away."
"WHAT??"
"Did your stomach just talk?" David questioned. I backed off slightly too look down her trench coat and see an angry red eye,
"What the-?!" I backed up slightly.
"Umm, I'm hungry. Hungry for the D!"
"If anyone's getting that D it's-" I was cut off by a small child bursting from the coat and on top of the table.
"Hey, Max? I think I caused a scene..." Niel muttered, standing with the waitress.
"Back the fuck off my man you skank!" What the fuck is that Tabii? Did I just yell at 3 ten-year-olds?? I stood by David, watching the show go down.
She threw a fork only for it to come back and attack her eye. She then screamed she blood poured from her eye.
"Holy fucking shit!" Niel screamed. I covered my boyfriend's eyes.
"Oh my goodness, are you okay?"
"I'll kill you, slut!" Tabii screamed,
"Holy shit, chill Tabii!" I yelled, tugging the girl by her satchel away from the waitress.
David finally snapped out of... Whatever mood he was in and stood, "Wait, Tabii?"
"Tabii, seriously, what the fuck?!" Sasha screamed. Erin then popped up,
"You got blood on my boots." She whined. David, finally taking in the people in the room, rose his brows,
"The flower scouts?" He then instinctly turned, magically finding the trio on their way to escape, "Max!!"
So glad he's taking charge now.
"Damn it."
David walked up, his 'angry counselor' face on as he put that disappointed mother hands on hips thing.
"Did you three have something to do with this?"
"No-"
"Yes!" Nikki yelled. Ah, sweet girl.
Max sighed, "I'm so sick of you and Samuel constantly together. You're a camp counselor, you counsel our camp, not to do whatever with your new girlfriend! I'm admitting this! Camp activities are not the same when David is constantly in this different state just because Samuel is around! It's more annoying than his annoying self! It's like he's a whole different person!"
David turned to me, an uncertain expression on his face.
"Kids..." He struggled to put the words in place. "I'm sorry I haven't really been myself lately, I've had a lot of things on my mind with me running the camp and well, adult stuff. But that's no reason to try and rid of a connection between two people-"
Max cut him off, "oh, it is, you guys are a snooze storm with your googly eyes and hidden touches, don't act like we can't see them."
"I thought you wanted to break up with Samuel," Nikki commented. I felt a hit to my chest before I quickly looked to David,
"What?"
"Nikki, w-when did I ever say that?" David asked. Niel decided to answer,
"Well, you just... Don't seem as happy?" Niel pondered. I felt another pang to my chest. I don't want to sound like a drama queen, but my chest was getting so tight, breathing was off its air pilot.
Is he really not as happy with me?
Oh God, more angst.
David dropped a knee, becoming level with the children, "we don't get to choose how or who we fall for, and we don't get to choose if or when those feelings go away. Sometimes those feelings can get you down, and make you think a lot that you probably shouldn't, and it makes you feel alone. But, that shouldn't take away the good times you had together because it keeps you remembering how happy the other person makes you, and that shouldn't take away the things you learned about yourself." He paused, standing and looking to me with a soft smile,
"It's okay to be worried, or anxious, or confused about your relationship, and its okay to feel like you've lost somethings, but you can always go back to the number one person who makes you happy and resolve everything, and be thankful for the experience you gained of communicating. And with relationships, after enough time, and enough understanding, the relationship and take a step further, riding a lot of the worries and replacing them with positive interactions. You always want the best for them, even if you have to take time to clear your head, maybe accidentally hurting people around you, and that's okay, cause everything turns out great in the end." David finished, gently grabbing my hand. The children surprisingly smiles softly at the speech, although Nikki didn't seem to understand. David then released my hand, instead wrapping and arm around my waist,
"Alright, let's call it a night."
I was gonna ask about dinner but I guess we really do need to get Tabii to a medical room.
We all walked out, getting into the camp mobile.
"Next time, we try to make David jealous." Max whispered to Niel. I placed a hand on his shoulder,
"Did you not listen to anything David said?" I questioned.
"I blanked halfway through."

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
